Chapter 29: The Race Car God - Part 2

Song Mingjie nearly lost control of the sports car when the gunshot rang out, swerving险险 (dangerously close) to a storefront.

"You crazy woman! You actually shot?!" he yelped, ducking as another bullet whizzed past. "I surrender! I give up! Just stop shooting!"

But for all his cries of surrender, Song kept speeding up, his car weaving erratically through traffic. The police cars closed in, now just fifty meters behind.

Wu Yifan grabbed his arm. "Let me drive."

"What? You can't—"

"Move!" Wu's voice sharpened, and Song scrambled into the passenger seat, too terrified to argue.

Wu gripped the wheel, his heart racing. He'd never driven a sports car before, but there was no time to hesitate.

*Bang!* A bullet hit the side mirror, shattering it.

"Xue'er! Enhance technical precision—max it out!"

*"Using 2 enhancement points. Technical precision ×5. Duration: 30 minutes."*

Instantly, everything clicked. Muscle memory flooded him—how to shift gears smoothly, when to brake, how to drift around corners. It was like he'd been racing for years.

He hit the gas, and the car lurched forward, hugging the curves of the road.

Song gaped. "How are you—"

"Later!" Wu cut him off, swerving to avoid a police roadblock. The car skidded, tires screeching, but he corrected just in time, shooting through a gap between two patrol cars.

Fu Junyao slammed her fist on the steering wheel, fury blazing. "They're getting away! Spread out!"

But her police cars were no match for a sports car. She watched Wu's tail lights vanish around a bend, then spotted a Ferrari parked curb-side—a sleek red number, brand-new.

Without hesitation, she skidded to a stop, flashed her badge at the stunned owner, and barked, "Police business. Your car's征用 (confiscated) temporarily."

Before the woman could protest, Fu had stolen the Ferrari, peeling out in pursuit.

The owner collapsed onto the sidewalk, wailing. "My car! She stole my car! Somebody help!"

Fu's subordinates rushed to calm her, but their faces were pale. *Chief Fu's really lost it this time.*

In the distance, Song spotted the Ferrari gaining on them. "It's her! She stole a Ferrari! We're doomed—she's a *pro* racer!"

Wu grinned, a thrill coursing through him. This was better than *Warcraft*. "Hold on tight."

He hit a straightaway, flooring the gas. The engine roared, and they shot forward, leaving the Ferrari in the dust—for now.

But Fu was relentless. She weaved through traffic like a missile, closing the gap.

"She's right behind us!" Song screamed as the Ferrari's headlights blinded them.

Wu glanced in the rearview mirror, calculating. *One more turn. That's all I need.*

He hit the brakes as they approached a sharp corner, yanking the wheel. The car drifted, tires smoking, sliding sideways around the bend—just as Fu's Ferrari zoomed past, overshooting the turn.

*Crash!*

Fu slammed into a lamppost, the Ferrari's front end crumpling.

Wu skidded to a stop, reversing slightly to peek.

Fu stumbled out, unharmed but fuming, her uniform torn. She raised her gun, but Wu was already gone—speeding down a side street, lost in the maze of Beitian's backroads.

Song collapsed back, panting. "We... we did it. We lost her."

Wu nodded, his hands still shaking from adrenaline. He glanced at the dashboard—technical precision ×5 was still active, but his enhancement points were down to 6. Worth it.

As they drove toward the outskirts of the city, Wu laughed, a genuine, exhilarated sound.

"Not bad for a security guard, huh?"

Song stared at him, awe-struck. "You're not just a security guard. You're a *legend*."

Wu smirked, but his mind wandered to Fu Junyao—her fiery eyes, her refusal to quit.

This wasn't over.

But for now? He was king of the road.

And he kind of liked it.
