Chapter 4 - crazy vampires

She stared at the redheaded woman who stared back at her with a wide grin on her lips. The woman looked young, and Ella peeped behind her and saw two vampires sitting on the expensive couch. One had red hair, while the other one had black hair. They were undeniably beautiful, like carbon copies, and looking at them, you could tell that this woman was their mother.

She then used her eyes to observe the living room that was well decorated and organized just as she had read in books. She was speechless at the beauty of this place. This place was something someone like her would never dream of stepping into, not even in their nightmares.

The woman cleared her throat, and Ella finally realized she had been looking around way too much. Without knowing what to do, she just bowed her head, keeping it down.

The maids that she came with were also bowing as well, while the woman just smiled at her like a psycho.

"T-thank you," she mumbled slowly as she raised her eyes slowly, peeping up to see if the woman was looking at her. To her surprise, the queen's gaze was fixed on her, and she quickly put her head back down.

"Hmm, you need to learn manners. You're now married to the royal family, so learn how to behave," she said, and Ella didn't even know what she should reply to that. Moments passed by, and the maid beside her tapped her, urging her to reply. Without knowing what to say, it felt so awkward.

"Y-yes, Your Highness…" she stammered.

"Don't worry, dear, just call me mom," the woman said, and Ella raised her head and looked up at her. When she took so long to reply, she thought the woman would be extremely angry, but now she was asking her to call her mom?

"What? You don't want to? I mean, after all, I'm your mother-in-law," she smirked, and just looking at her, Ella could tell she was sly in nature and was also a psycho.

"Are you going to call me mother or what?" The queen repeated, and Ella could only look at her. Mother? She never actually called anyone that, so it seemed a bit weird or awful to call someone that all of a sudden.

'Crazy, crazy,' Ella thought to herself and then opened her mouth to speak when she heard footsteps echoing behind the woman. And she could feel a dark, intimidating aura from that person. She put her head down to the ground without daring to look up.

Silence reigned for a while, and the next thing she heard was…

"Darling, meet your lovely wife," the queen said, and Ella's eyes widened and her heart started playing drums that she couldn't stop. She heard again.

"Mom, I told you not to bring this garbage girl here! How can you bring a human for me to marry? Take her away immediately," she heard his husky voice that made her blood freeze little by little. So he doesn't want her? Why is he speaking like that? Or, wait, is this a forced marriage on him? What?

"Mom, if you don't want you and my top to fight, just take her away please, I beg you!" His voice sounded so displeased with his mother and disgusted to see her here.

"What? You want me to marry a human?" She heard him again, and she could tell he was angry and clearly didn't like her.

Ohhhh! Not only does she not like this marriage, her mysterious husband doesn't like her as well.

There was silence, and she could tell the mother and son were obviously communicating through eye contact. She was about to look up when she heard the man leaving. She breathed out, and slowly, like a scared cat, she looked up at the queen, who was staring at her with folded arms.

"I hope you know what your job is, so do it properly. Remember, you're getting paid for everything you do," said the queen, and with that, she walked past her.

Though the vampire was gone, she could still feel the dark aura that was left behind there.

And she now regretted why she didn't look at his face. If truly he hates her, then that could only mean she was in big trouble.

'Get ready to experience hell, Ella,' she told herself inwardly. The maids led her upstairs, and the mansion was undeniably organized. She wanted to roll her whole body on the floors that were well polished, and she could even see her reflection on the polished walls.

Soon they reached the second floor and then her room. As soon as the maids pushed the door open, she couldn't help but gasp at the beauty.

"Enjoy the wedding, ma'am," said one of the maids, and with that, they pushed the door closed, leaving her standing and staring at the bed in front of her, which was decorated with flowers that were spread on top of the bed and the floor as well.

She walked to the beautiful bed, then threw her body on it. She stared at the beautiful ceiling as she was now all smiles.

She couldn't believe it! She was now rich and now had a husband that hates her.

All these things just happened so suddenly as if this was just another of her biggest dreams.

But if only her grandma was feeling well, she would love for her grandma to stay in a place like this together with her. Life has been so cruel to her and her grandma.

Beeep! Beep!

She pulled out her phone and saw, ~Anne

Without wasting time, she quickly dialed her number.

"Hi Ella! How've you been and how is your marriage going?"

"Good and horrible," and they both chuckled. Anne has been to places like this several times, but Ella didn't get any opportunity to.

"So is the palace as beautiful as I told you?" Anne asked from the other end.

"More than just that, girl, it's so nice here and I wish I could bring grandma," she exclaimed happily.

"Don't worry, girl, it'll be fine. So how was your first day with your husband?"

"Disaster."
