Captain Johnson wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, using his claw to pick at a piece of meat stuck between his teeth. During the battle with Bob Eagle, he realized that consuming the flesh of his own kind could enhance his strength and cause him to evolve.
After devouring a Lizardman, he felt his power surge by a significant margin.
His snout became longer, his sharp teeth glinting with a metallic sheen. Thick scales formed prominent ridges, giving him an invulnerable appearance.
At this moment, Captain Johnson resembled a dinosaur more than a lizard.
The humans in the courtroom watched this scene in terror. They had witnessed Captain Johnson eating the Lizardman from start to finish. The women inside trembled, covering their mouths, afraid to make a sound.
Another Lizardman completed the transformation. He swayed his dizzy head, and before he could even open his eyes, Captain Johnson swiftly snapped his neck.
Captain Johnson was already skilled at this, quickly devouring the Lizardman's most essential parts. Later on, he didn't even bother to chew. He simply opened his mouth wide and swallowed the entire Lizardman, skin and bones, into his stomach.
The incredibly resilient esophagus expanded to its limit, and powerful stomach acid rapidly began to dissolve the food within.
The surging power emanating from his body had Captain Johnson reveling in it.
"This... this is what it feels like to be strong?"
Ignoring the Lizardmen's terrified pleas, he directly swallowed the last transformed Lizardman. The incredibly resilient esophagus expanded to its limit, and one could even see the struggling movements of the Lizardman through his neck.
"Green Goblin! I will become stronger, I can constantly become stronger! When I surpass you, I will repay all the humiliation I've suffered tenfold! A hundredfold!"
He recalled the humiliation of kneeling before Broly out of fear, and the deep-seated hatred gnawed at his heart like a venomous snake.
The remaining Lizardmen woke up almost simultaneously. They saw the bones left behind after Captain Johnson had eaten the first two Lizardmen. Although the Lizard Serum had altered their personalities, it hadn't erased their intelligence, and they quickly surmised the fate of their previously awakened companions.
"Johnson, you're finished! There are three of us, and you're alone! Attack him together and take him down!"
Three Lizardmen encouraged each other, gathering their courage to pounce on Captain Johnson.
"Interesting, the food dares to stand up and resist! Wouldn't it be better to be eaten obediently?"
A look of eagerness appeared on Captain Johnson's face, where the human elements were diminishing. He also wanted to see just how strong he was now.
A black afterimage flashed, and he suddenly appeared in front of one of the Lizardmen, a grin on his face as he slammed a headbutt into its forehead.
A sound like a watermelon smashing on the ground, the Lizardman's skull was directly shattered.
Captain Johnson wiped the brain matter off his forehead, his beast-like gaze fixed on the remaining two Lizardmen.
One Lizardman was terrified by his gaze, its original will to resist collapsing instantly, and it turned to flee. But before it could run a few steps, a sharp claw pierced its chest, grabbing its heart.
"Bang!"
The remaining Lizardman hefted a table and slammed it down on Captain Johnson's head.
He put almost all his strength into the blow. Because of ample funding, the New York City courthouse used extremely sturdy solid wood for its furniture.
The long table exploded, becoming a cloud of splinters. Captain Johnson, caught off guard, was slammed to the ground, cracking the wooden floor beneath him.
"Ha, still acting tough, you bastard? I'm going to kill you!"
The Lizardman shouted with glee, venting the fear Captain Johnson had instilled in him.
"Heh heh heh…"
Captain Johnson rose with a grim smile. The attack hadn't even caused him the slightest injury.
"Is this a massage?"
This level of attack couldn't possibly defeat him.
The Lizardmen were utterly crushed by fear, dropping their hands and kneeling on the ground in despair.
"Become my power."
Captain Johnson's mouth stretched to its limit, like a python, and swallowed the Lizardman who had given up resisting. His digestive abilities were getting stronger; it only took him a dozen seconds to digest the huge Lizardman.
He didn't waste any time, swallowing the remaining two Lizardmen as well before belching contentedly.
The Osborn Group's board of directors was wiped out.
He stuck out his tongue and licked the brains and blood from his lips, then Captain Johnson surveyed the remaining people. His cold, vertical pupils caused a wave of panic and crying.
"Colin Salmon, I've recognized you. That smell on you can't hide from my nose, Colin."
He walked towards the crowd, parting them like Moses did the Red Sea. The terrified civilians, packed together, cried out and scrambled to make way for him. A portly figure appeared before him.
Colin was utterly panicked. For the first time in his life, he desperately wanted to lose weight, wishing he could just sink into the ground.
He was the director of the New York City Veterans Hospital. While Captain Johnson was occupied with the board members, he had slipped into the crowd, hoping to escape unnoticed.
"No... don't eat me..."
Colin Salmon's entire body trembled with fat. Watching Captain Johnson devour the board members, his heart had nearly leaped out of his chest.
"No, Colin, why would I eat you? Without you, how could I have achieved this powerful and perfect physique? I need to thank you, Colin."
Captain Johnson said, grabbing Colin Salmon and carrying him under his arm like a piece of luggage.
He still needed to get stronger. His current strength was far from the Green Goblin's, making revenge impossible. Therefore, he needed to create more Lizardmen to climb the ladder of power. He needed more Lizard Serum!
Stepping out of the courthouse, the New York City Police, who had been surrounding the area, were completely wiped out. Police cars were burning fiercely, and bodies were scattered everywhere.
These Lizardmen, transformed from Navy SEALs, were much stronger than the previous batch. The police had crumbled instantly upon contact.
A helicopter circled in the air. The officers inside were frantically firing a door-mounted machine gun at the Lizardmen below.
Unfortunately, ordinary machine gun bullets couldn't pose any threat to these Lizardmen. The wounds from the bullets healed almost instantly.
"Roar!"
Captain Johnson suddenly spat out a green flame, engulfing the entire helicopter.
"Let's go."
