Nikolai POV:
When I walked into the diner I was overwhelmed with her scent. All I could smell was strawberry shortcake. Then I saw her. Her beautiful blond hair put up in a clip. She has curves in all the right places and when she turns around and her beautiful golden eyes are so mesmerizing. I've never seen a person with gold eyes.
She comes over and greets us and her smile is perfect, hell, everything about her is perfect. When she meets my gaze I hear her heart skip a bit. 'She is so perfect.' Kaelen purrs. It's kinda odd hearing him purr because he never does. 'Well yeah idiot she is my mate. I'll do a lot of things for her and to her.' he says chortling. I just roll my eyes mentally at him.
"Hey Miss Paige how ya doin?" Ryker greets her. "Oh you know hanging in there. you have a different set of friends this time I see. What brings you back early?" She asks lifting an eyebrow. Ryker motions towards us and replied. "These are the developers for the project." He points to me. "This is the Alph- I mean CEO of The Greystone Corporation." I extend my hand to her. "Nikolai Greystone."
She hesitated for a split second then took my hand. When the unmistakable sparks of the mate bond spread over me, I nearly squealed like a girl with her first crush. At the same time it wanted me to take her to bed and never leave. She let out a small gasp and I nearly fainted. The sound was so cute. "It's very nice to meet you." She says quietly. Her voice is the sweetest sound I've ever heard. Like a song only for me. 'I can't wait to mark and mate her.' Kaelen says with a light growl.
'Me either buddy.' I say in agreement. I didn't want to let go of her hand but I had to. We both lingered longer than we should have probably but I didn't care. Ryker introduced her to Victor and Keegan. I hardly heard the conversation because I was lost thinking of all the things I wanted to give her. As an Alpha it's in my nature to show my mate I can provide for her. 'I'm going to get her whatever she wants.' Kaelen sighs and I know he is watching her through our eyes too.
'Alpha?' Keegan mind links me and he sounds a little strained. 'Whats up Keegan?' I reply lightly. 'That girl is my mate. The one talking to Luna Paige. She is about to come over here. What should I say?' he asks panicked. I chuckled and replied, 'Don't fart.' with a straight face. I almost couldn't contain my amusement when he looked at me like I grew three heads. 'Seriously? That's it? Thanks man.' he replied a bit aggravated.
I just laughed before replying. 'Dude, just be yourself and ask for her number. Don't wait just do it. Try to shake her hand if you can.' I let out a calming aura and he visibly relaxed and sighed. 'Thank you.' 'Anytime buddy.' I replied then went back to staring at my mate. I gotta give her my number or ask for hers. I spent the better part of the day in the diner because I couldn't leave her.
I looked at my watch. 3:00pm 'Is there a decent hotel near by?' I mind link Ryker. 'Yeah right down the street. I already booked the rooms and had the driver Tony take our bags over.' He replied. 'Good looking out.' I say with a hint of pride behind it. It's good for the pack when they get acknowledged. I get lost in my mate again. I think I'll stay until her shift is over. 'I won't leave until she does.' Kaelen says in a no nonsense tone. 'Alright, alright no need to get your tail in a knot.' I reply teasingly.
'I love our mate. I wonder if she will be gifted a wolf when we mark her.' Kaelen muses. 'Most human Lunas are gifted one. I only know of one who didn't and that has been over fifteen years ago. She is still a strong Luna and has born ten pups.' I tell him in a matter of fact way. 'I wouldn't care if she didn't get a wolf and never gave us an heir. I will still love her the same.' Kaelen says. 'Me too Kaelen.'
The door bell ring and I see Paige turn to greet the customer. Instead of greeting them I see a flicker of fear in her eyes. I feel a tightness in my chest and hear her heart skip a beat. 'Who is this a** hole?' Kaelen growls.
He sits at the other end of the counter. She immediately brings him coffee, cream and a slice of blueberry pie.
"Your shift is over. When I finish this we are leaving." He hissed at her. If I wasn't a wolf I wouldn't have heard. But I did and now I'm pissed.
