Chapter 1 - Intel No.1: "Introduction."

In August 2027, a popular mobile game called "Protogenesis" was released, a rogue-lite strategy game created by Starlight Inc. Ltd., which had garnered over 5.7 billion downloads worldwide on the Play Store.

Protogenesis, developed by Starlight, was a massive success during its release in the Play Store. It is also a card-based strategy game, offering a much deeper and more tactical combat system, with a semi-open world. The core gameplay revolves around using your character's skills, which appear each turn in the form of cards. Effectively using cards is the key to mastering the gameplay. Each card can be synergized with other cards, allowing it to deal more damage while also gaining better tactics to use during each battle.

Despite being successful upon its release, Protogenesis received negative feedback initially due to its hardcore combat and the difficulty in understanding the game's mechanics. However, Protogenesis gained popularity among players who demonstrated their strength. But that is not all, every event and other content in the game is permanent, meaning that if the event ended after some time, it will remain, and every reward you can earn will be the same. There are no limited-time events, and they will always be permanent to ensure players won't miss any rewards they can earn. Unlike other games, these are the reasons why everyone likes the game and has gained popularity worldwide.

But there are a few reasons why the game is so popular that it even dominates the global mobile market worldwide. These were the groundbreaking reasons made by Starlight themselves.

First is the [Starlight's Summoning System].

Protogenesis has this feature that many players have been playing the game non-stop, eventually becoming more popular on the Play Store. The essence of this system lies in shuffling thousands of patterns that can be infinite to create cards. In other words, whether you are pulling tens of thousands of times in Protogenesis, the chance of getting a duplicate card is very high. Eventually, having a duplicate card of the same name or rank can merge into one that makes it even stronger; this is called "Resonance," and in gamers' terms, it's called a "dupe. But this is not the only function that Protogenesis has; there are a lot more than this.

Second is the [Starlight's Quantum AI.]

During Protogenesis beta testing, Starlight. The developer made a groundbreaking achievement by creating an advanced artificial intelligence for the game, and many players who were invited to play the beta test were amazed by how detailed and realistic the AI worked. It was successful and eventually drew many gamers.

Every non-playable character (NPC) and character can feel emotions and think. When they are put into a stage, there are hundreds of different reactions when the situation is the same. They can make demands, assert themselves, sometimes refuse orders, and sometimes obey them. When it comes to battle in many ways, they show even more astonishing results. Without the player giving individual commands, the heroes autonomously adapt to the tactics they consider efficient and use different tactics and formations in each battle. From a gamer's perspective, this is acting as a god watching their people to see what they can do without interfering. Furthermore, when any playable characters are put to training, they have different growth values, and even at the same level and grade, the process and results of battles differ. Hence, there is no common hero grade chart or predetermined training method like those different games. Protogenesis's infinite "Summoning Systems" make each one capable of surpassing the other.

Despite being too realistic, almost mistaken to be a reality. Although the characters and NPCs in the game are just data, they are so lifelike. Even Starlight did not reveal the detailed algorithm, and a few months ago, a giant Chinese company attempted to acquire the development company with billions of capital; little did they know, they were messing with Starlight Inc. Ltd., eventually, it ended in a failure. There were frequent attempts to invade the company or hack the algorithm, but none have been successful. Starlight sued the giant Chinese company for attempting to sabotage them, and Starlight won the court, and the giant Chinese company has to pay $6.9 billion of dollars to compensate Starlight.

Third, the [Turn-Based Strategy Game].

Protogenesis is a turn-based strategy game with a rogue-lite style. When it comes to battle, you will play with cards in your deck. Each card you gain from the start of the battle is called "Starting Deck," which is just a basic card. However, as each turn passes, they will eventually turn into different cards with different abilities. Every character you own has different card abilities and different roles; sometimes, characters can have synergies with other characters, making their cards merge into a greater card.

In the interview with the developers, one of them made a statement, saying, "As the battle continues, your characters can become 'traumatised,' which makes them go crazy and the cost of their cards will increase, however, their cards will also have a different appearance and they will deal more damage while in the 'traumatised' state. Remember, take this as an advantage as the battle goes on, each 'traumatised' card can be more helpful, but at the cost of high 'card points.' But your characters will eventually go back to normal after a few turns, and their cards will also go back to normal.
