Monica's POV
"Well, would you look who decided to remember her old friends," teased the deep voice through the phone speaker.
"Bruce, sweetheart, I never forget the people who matter. You're practically family! How have you been holding up?" Lily's eyes twinkled with mischief.
"I'm surviving. Just desperately need some female companionship since Colby abandoned me for the Malibu sunshine," Bruce lamented, referring to his friend's recent departure.
"Stop being so theatrical!" Lily laughed. "Actually, I called with news that might brighten your day considerably."
"I'm all ears, darling."
"That fool Grady royally messed things up. Michelle is officially single now," Lily announced triumphantly.
"No way! Are you serious, Sardines?" Bruce's voice jumped an octave.
"Dead serious. Grady is completely out of Michelle's picture."
"Sardines, you're a goddess! Sorry, but I've got to run. Talk later." Bruce ended the call abruptly.
