Monica's POV
When we arrived home, Austin dragged a box of building blocks from his room and scattered them across the living room carpet. Morris settled beside him on the floor, and they spent the afternoon constructing towers and watching animated movies together.
After dinner, exhaustion claimed Austin completely. He drifted off in his father's arms, and Morris insisted on carrying him to bed personally. When he returned to the living room, he pulled me against him on the couch.
"Jenna, we need to have this conversation." Morris's voice carried weight. "There's so much I need to understand. And I have things to confess too. I'm not sure where to begin."
"Tell me about New Fisher first," I said, shifting to face him directly.
