Monica's POV
Working from home had its perks, but I genuinely missed the office environment. Still, I wasn't ready to leave my little ones all day just yet. Midway through the afternoon, my tablet chimed with an incoming call from Morris.
"Hello, beautiful," he greeted, resting his chin on his finger in that endearing pose I adored.
"Well hello there," I replied with a smile. "Missing me already?"
"Every minute," he admitted with a dramatic sigh. "Listen, I was thinking we should have dinner tonight. Just us."
"That's quite spontaneous. Any special reason?"
"Do I need one to want some alone time with my gorgeous wife?"
"I certainly like your thinking."
"So that's a yes?"
"That's an absolute yes," I confirmed, beaming at him through the screen.
"Perfect. See you tonight, angel."
Morris took me to an elegant restaurant with intimate lighting and exceptional cuisine. When dessert time arrived, he surprised me by asking the waiter to pack it to go and bring our check.
