Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Ivy Doom

Ivy Doom was a time traveler.

The real deal.

And a typical one at that—parents dead, no siblings, and a house to his name.

He crossed over from China to London, England, a little over a century ago. At first, he refused to accept it, but soon, he had to admit it was "just too good to resist."

Why? Simply because of magic.

Eventually, he enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a fifth-year transfer student, participated in the Sorting Ceremony with the other first years, and was successfully placed in Slytherin House.

After a whole year of school life and playing the role of a hero in a series of adventures, he was sealed in crystal by magical forces he could not control.

A hundred years later, in 1991, Ivy Doom finally returned to the world, with a little help from the old headmaster, Albus Dumbledore.

The first thing he heard upon waking was—

"Merlin above, look at his robes! He's a Slytherin!"

Good eye! At least my robe choice didn't go to waste.

Ivy Doom was not a name typical of a Chinese person. It seemed he had used his character from Hogwarts: Legacy as his identity during the transition, acquiring not only a classic British accent but also extraordinary magical abilities.

That's right, we're talking about the "Avada Kedavra-flavored Lightning Whip Special Edition."

Upon arriving in this real, magical world, he was shocked to find that his old name no longer existed.

Or, more simply put, it no longer referred to him.

In the magical world, there exists a spell called the "Name Calling Charm," which is fairly simple. To put it simply, everyone has a name that allows owls to deliver letters to them.

Through the charm, Ivy Doom discovered that his old name no longer corresponded to him, perhaps because Muggle names lacked magical properties and couldn't trigger the magic.

In any case, the name he now went by was the one he typed himself on the screen—Ivy Doom.

In that moment, he was extremely relieved. He was glad he chose this name due to the immersive feeling, rather than letting his inner player dictate some over-the-top, high-tech face with a name like "Only Nantong Can Pronounce My Full Name."

This was the origin of his name—Ivy Doom.

"Dumbledore, I don't remember when I went blind," the youngest Slytherin Head of House remarked sarcastically to his colleague and superior, bending down to check on the child who had fallen out of the crystal.

"Hmm—" Ivy woke up just at the right moment and was startled by the greasy-haired figure in front of him.

"Who are you? Why are you in my Map Room!" Ivy immediately drew his wand—ebony wood with a dragon heartstring core, powerful and firm, crafted by the old Ollivanders over a century ago. Back then, the wand-making process was not as clear and standardized as it would later become, and the combination of ebony wood and dragon heartstring made the wand incredibly expensive. Even Ivy, a Dark Arts master, had to save for several days to afford it.

"Yours? Map Room?" Dumbledore took a step forward and placed his hand on Snape's as he reached into his robes for his wand. "I am Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You can lower your wand. Let's talk calmly."

"Hogwarts Headmaster?" Ivy asked knowingly. Upon seeing the pair, he immediately recognized their identities—greasy black robes belonged to Snape, and the taller, grey-robed figure was Dumbledore. Anyone who had read the Harry Potter series could recognize them.

But the next moment, Ivy wasted no time in launching an attack.

"Protego! Keep them at bay!"

He first cast a defensive spell on himself, then quickly shot a sharp and powerful Repulsion Charm at the floor, hoping to use the rebound to distance himself from the two Hogwarts professors.

"Calm down! Child!" Dumbledore shouted, blocking Snape, who was about to step forward. He pulled Snape back, continuing to shout, "You must be a Hogwarts student, right? Perhaps from Slytherin House? Then you can trust us completely! I am the Headmaster, and Professor Snape here is the Head of Slytherin House!"

"Nonsense!" Ivy remained unmoved, waving his hand to cast his third spell. "Disarm!"

This was an attack magic directed at the wizard himself, and Dumbledore couldn't just ignore it. He flicked his hand to deflect the red spell.

"There must be some misunderstanding!" Dumbledore still didn't attack and continued to try to reason with Ivy.

"You're powerful, aren't you? Well, let me show you the true power of ancient magic! Summon Lightning!" Ivy wasn't just a fifth-year transfer student; he was an ancient magic affinity caster. The plot of that old game revolved around ancient magic and the goblin rebellion.

Summon Lightning was one of Ivy's few powerful non-dark magic spells.

With a flash, the tip of his ebony wand released a dazzlingly thick lightning bolt, rushing toward Dumbledore and Snape with thunderous force.

"Incendio!" The greatest wizard of the 20th century finally cast his first spell. Fierce flames shot out of the tip of his wand, intertwining with Ivy's lightning.

The fire and lightning spells danced through the vast, empty hall of the Map Room, creating a spectacular and dangerous spectacle.

The magical duel continued for a while, until Ivy's ebony wand could no longer bear the intense pressure from the ancient magic.

Crack!

A small splinter of wood fell from the tip of the ebony wand, and in an instant, a chain reaction was triggered. The wand that had accompanied him through countless battles in the Forbidden Forest turned into a pile of sparks.

Having lost his wand, Ivy, now standing to the left, was naturally defeated in this magical clash.

Although his protective spell still hadn't worn off, who would want to match their magical strength against the notorious Dark Lord unless necessary?

So, Ivy did what every action game protagonist does—he performed a roll.

Getting back to his feet, Ivy pulled out his shining second wand and pointed it at Dumbledore's wizard hat.

"Disarm!" After a long period of inactivity, Snape finally acted—and his move sealed the outcome.

The silvery wand was knocked out of Ivy's hand and flew through the air, only for Snape to catch it effortlessly.

Seeing this, Ivy immediately raised both hands in surrender and made a mock salute. "I surrender!"
