Chapter 129: Here, Make a Peace Sign!
"I'm dying... I'm really dying... My body is being melted..."
Jashin-chan lay weakly on the beach. A large chunk of her tail was missing, and her body was covered in wounds. In some places, the stomach acid had corroded her flesh down to the muscle, her skin an unnatural, dark red. Her breathing was faint, her eyes unfocused, and she had completely lost her usual energy, looking utterly wretched.
"Jashin-chan, are you okay?"
Medusa's delicate face was etched with worry and pity. She knelt on the soft sand, holding a clean bath towel, and began to gently and carefully wipe the digestive fluids off Jashin-chan's body.
"Do I... look like I'm okay?" Jashin-chan barely managed to lift an eyelid, glancing at Medusa, her voice so weak it was almost inaudible.
Poporon stood to the side, covering her mouth with her pale, soft hand, a gloating smile spreading across her face. "How tragic, Jashin-chan."
Hearing this, Jashin-chan was overcome with grief. She had to agree; she was in a truly miserable state. Who had she provoked? All she did was go for a swim. Why did this have to happen to her?
'If...'
Jashin-chan weakly turned her head, her lifeless eyes staring at Yurine, who was standing with her back to her, holding the trident.
'If I had never been summoned here, none of this would have happened...'
'Because I was summoned... because I was brought to this beach... that's why I'm suffering this misfortune!'
Jashin-chan blamed Yurine for every single bad thing that had ever happened to her. As she recalled all her past sufferings, a palpable aura of pure resentment exploded from her body.
Yurine turned around, confused, only to see Jashin-chan glaring at her with pure hatred. She froze.
"I hate you...!" Jashin-chan whispered.
In her extreme rage, she lost all reason, and the powerful dark energy within her body went berserk. A terrifying, blue-black demonic flame erupted around her. This flame seemed to contain the power of both destruction and rebirth. Her ruined body, enveloped in the flames, began to regenerate at a visible rate. Even her severed tail grew back instantly.
Jashin-chan, who had been lying limply on the sand, slowly floated upward, as if lifted by an invisible force. Her body rose until she was standing steadily on the beach.
'This is bad!'
The moment the dark flames appeared, Poporon's heart skipped a beat. She didn't hesitate for a second, turning and fleeing at top speed.
"Jashin-chan..." Medusa's enchanting violet eyes turned into blank dots, her expression baffled and shocked as she stared at the berserk Jashin-chan. Pekola was also startled and instinctively took a step back.
After Poporon, Koji-kun also ran, arms outstretched, scrambling on her short legs to Yusa. She grabbed onto Yusa's leg and peeked out curiously at Jashin-chan.
"I HATE YOU—!" Jashin-chan's voice was filled with endless resentment and rage, her eyes glowing crimson. She threw her arms wide, and the cowlick on her head stood straight up, like an antenna pointing to the sky.
"Now! Answer my summons!" she roared, lifting her arms. "Ancient Warrior—AMAZONES!"
In an instant, a colossal pillar of blue-black light shot up from behind her, staining the entire area in a deep, dark hue. Within the pillar, energy surged like a tidal wave, and an ancient, heavy aura filled the air.
A moment later, a sleek silhouette slowly emerged from the light—it was a female warrior clad in crimson armor, wielding a gigantic death scythe. The blade of the scythe glinted coldly, looking sharp enough to tear space itself. Her face was obscured by a helmet, revealing only a pair of cold eyes and the delicate lower half of her face.
"Amazones, awaiting your command!" The legendary warrior of the Amazon clan had descended, obeying the will of the Evil God!
A cold sneer crossed Jashin-chan's lips. She immediately activated another one of her abilities.
"Demon Fusion!"
The two figures merged into one amid a blinding flash.
When the light faded, Jashin-chan stood there, now clad in the crimson armor and holding the death scythe. She threw her head back and laughed maniacally.
"Hahaha—! Power! It's surging! I feel unbelievably strong right now!"
"With this, I can win!"
"With this, I can bring THE END to everything!"
Jashin-chan swung the death scythe and pointed it confidently at Yurine, cackling. "Yurine, you're finished! Next year, this day will be the anniversary of your death!"
"Here we go again," Minos said, utterly exasperated as she dragged a giant tentacle onto the shore.
"Whoa, Jashin-chan, that look is pretty cool. Here, I'll take your picture," Ryohei Tanaka said, pulling his phone from the pocket of his beach shorts as if nothing was wrong, and holding it up toward her.
"Yeah—!"
Jashin-chan instinctively spun around, slung the death scythe over her shoulder, and flashed a brilliant smile at the camera, holding up a peace sign.
A second later, her smile froze.
"The hell are you making me do!"
'What is WRONG with you?!'
'Can you be serious at a time like this?!'
Jashin-chan was so mad her pigtails were practically standing on end. She was really done with this Servant.
"Fine! I'll forgive you, since you were just stunned by my coolness!" In the end, Jashin-chan decided to forgive him, providing her own excuse for his behavior.
She then added, as if remembering something, "And don't even think about sucking up to me to beg for Yurine's life. I won't spare her!"
"Mhm. I admire your confidence," Ryohei said, giving her a thumbs-up. Aside from being degenerate scum, Jashin-chan was certainly confident, always believing she could finally beat Yurine.
"Hmph, hmph," Jashin-chan huffed proudly, not catching his sarcasm at all, and wagged the tip of her tail.
"Jashin-chan..." Medusa said, holding the towel, her face a mask of anxiety and helplessness. She wanted to stop Jashin-chan from committing suicide, but she was also afraid she might actually hurt Yurine.
Before she could finish, Jashin-chan cut her off. "That's enough, Medusa! Don't try to stop me! You can't stop me!"
With that, Jashin-chan's gaze snapped back to Yurine. She pointed the scythe at her. "Seeing as we've known each other so long, I'll give you one chance to say your last words!"
"You really don't know how to learn a lesson, do you," Yurine sighed. She hadn't been planning to beat her up today. But since she was insisting... Yurine didn't mind teaching her one.
Besides...
"I didn't really get to cut loose earlier either. So, I guess I'll play with you." Yurine's lips curved into a slight smile. She raised her trident, its points glinting in the sun.
"You...! Aren't you a little too arrogant?!" Hearing Yurine so casually say she'd "play" with her, Jashin-chan was enraged. She felt she was being looked down upon. "You're so annoying! I'm not the same Jashin-chan I was before! Yurine, die in your arrogance!"
Jashin-chan screamed, slithering toward Yurine at high speed, swinging the massive death scythe with no mercy.
"Die!"
As long as this hits! Not only will it wound her soul, but I'll steal her power!
KLANG—!
A sharp, metallic ring echoed through the air.
Yurine, her expression perfectly calm, flicked her wrist. The trident, like a coiled dragon, drew an arc through the air and effortlessly parried Jashin-chan's scythe. The instant the weapons collided, sparks flew.
"Eeh?!"
Jashin-chan felt a massive force travel up the scythe, making her hands go numb. She almost lost her grip. She stared at Yurine in total disbelief.
'What is with your strength?!'
'Is that even legal?!'
...
"My, my. It looks like a lot happened while I was away."
A mature, captivating voice sounded nearby.
Ryohei, who had been watching the "fight," turned his head and saw Lucoa, now changed back into her normal clothes, standing on the beach. She was looking curiously at the Kraken carcass, then back at the fully-armored Jashin-chan getting completely overpowered by Yurine with just one hand.
"Lucoa, you're back just in time," Ryohei said. He had just been about to message her.
"You can bring out the BBQ grill now. Also, can you open a portal? I need to go back and get some things."
"Okay," Lucoa replied cheerfully. She first opened a portal for Ryohei, then began pulling the BBQ grill, charcoal, ingredients, and other supplies from her personal dimension.
Tonight, they were having a barbecue on the beach.
