Seraphina's POV
Adrian didn't react to my sarcastic words. He simply took the bag from my arm and began looking through it.
I stood there, stunned and completely humiliated. Heat crept up my neck as I watched him go through my things, like I was some kind of suspect.
"Relax," I snapped, lunging for the bag. "I didn't stash any deadly weapons in there."
He stepped back smoothly, that infuriating smirk playing on his lips. "Sweetheart, even if you tried to kill me, you'd probably just end up hurting yourself."
Oh, that smug tone. I so wish I could punch that face.
"What kind of man goes through a woman's personal belongings? Do you have no shame?" I demanded, throwing the sharpest insult I could find at the top of my furious brain.
"Yes," he said calmly. "I have no shame in looking through my wife's bag."
Wife.....
My face reddened even further, like he'd just set me on fire with one word. I hissed like a cornered cat, "Give it back to me!"
