Adrian's POV
I could not believe that such a thing had happened. I could not believe that while I was sleeping, Blake took control and did all those things with Seraphina.
"Was not thinking," he said, sounding way too pleased with himself. I could almost hear him purring in my mind. "Was feeling."
"You almost marked her!"
"Yes. Something we should have done the day we met her."
My blood boiled at his words. "She's our enemy!"
"No," he refused instantly. "She is your enemy. For me, she is mate. My mate."
"Are you seriously—have you completely forgotten what the Ashford's did to us? What they took?"
"Mate didn't do anything. She was baby," he argued.
"Oh really?" My voice dripped with sarcasm. "It seems you've forgotten everything. You forgot what we lost, you forgot what we are suffering from, you forgot—"
"I don't want to live in past, Adrian." Blake interrupted, his voice turned serious, almost sad. "I want mate. I lost one. Won't lose another."
