Seraphina's POV
I looked down at Alicia, who was practically vibrating with excitement as we stood at the entrance of the amusement park
"Little cutie, where should we start first?" I asked.
Alicia looked around thoughtfully, her little face scrunched up in concentration like this was the most important decision of her life. Then her eyes lit up and she pointed toward a colorful carousel spinning in the distance.
"The merry-go-round!" she announced.
I nodded. "Perfect choice."
We waited for Adrian to catch up. He'd been lagging behind, probably hoping we'd forget he existed. When he finally reached us, he stood there with his arms crossed, his face completely blank and cold.
He looked like someone had dragged him here against his will.
Which, technically, I had.
I rolled my eyes. "Smile."
He stared at me blankly. "What?"
