Seraphina's POV
Seeing my genuine confusion, Hazel leaned back slightly and explained, "Your husband is a famous man, Seraphina. When his daughter gets kidnapped and his wife gets shot, that's bound to be on the news."
She paused, watching my shocked expression. "Though there were no pictures of you or Alicia taken by the media, but everyone knows how you bravely fought with those gang members and protected all those girls."
My mouth fell open slightly. No one had told me anything about this. "I... I was on the news?" I touched my nose self-consciously. "But I didn't save anyone. It was Adrian..."
Hazel's lips curved into a teasing smile. "But you saved your husband, didn't you?"
Heat flooded my cheeks. I looked away, trying to hide my blush. "I just did what anyone would do."
"Not anyone," Hazel said softly, her teasing tone turning genuine. "What you did takes courage and love."
