Chapter 114 - The Festival

The festival was Lira's idea.

The looming threat was gone, and things were starting to look better. However, the people were still occupied with rebuilding.

"We need something to celebrate," she said. "Something to bring everyone together. Not a war council. Not a ration meeting. A festival."

The council debated it. Some thought it was a waste of resources—food that could be rationed, time that could be spent working. Others thought it was exactly what the village needed.

"One day," Lira said. "One day of rest. Of music. Of games for the children. We've all lost so much. We deserve a moment to remember what we're fighting for."
