Chapter 89 - Political Tension

"I truly don't understand Healers who lack the courage to stand on the battlefield. Because what greater honor is there than breathing life into the dying? To be an Awakened standing in a field drowning in the cacophony of roaring beasts, without terrifying power, yet without fear. Unbreakable is the one who stares death in the face without flinching, and glorious is the one who tears life from death's cold grip."

Luna spoke with a solemn expression before the gathered hundreds. The Princess of the Song Clan looked a little different now, her belly noticeably larger, a clear sign of pregnancy. She resembled a great mother, standing upon the earth and holding up the heavens while nurturing her child.

The reporters grew increasingly agitated and restless at Luna's words, hands shooting up as each of them vied for a chance to ask a question. At last, Luna pointed at a woman in her thirties and gave a faint nod.

"Princess Luna, does that mean you will be participating in the campaign?" the woman asked, her voice filled with anticipation and hope.

"Yes… As you can see, I'm pregnant. After I give birth to my child, I'm planning to challenge the Second Nightmare and then… I will join the war. And I encourage Awakened, Healers like me, to fight alongside me, to triumph over death." Luna replied earnestly, her expression soft and her smile amiable.

"May I ask the reason behind such a reckless decision? Pardon me, my lady… but don't you think you should take care of yourself after the pregnancy? And what about your child?" a middle-aged man asked, visibly intrigued.

"My child will be in good hands… As for why I'm in a rush…" Luna paused, letting her gaze sweep across the academy grounds. "Let's just say there's no greater high than knowing you are the reason the enemy believes they're facing an immortal army."

Her eyes found a pale young man with onyx eyes and raven-black hair. A soft chuckle escaped her, and she leaned forward slightly, her lips curling into a subtle smile.

"No greater show of life… than denying death."

...

"Nice performance. Very inspiring, really. Now the Song Clan's reputation will be greater than it ever was. Many more young Awakened will join your mother's clan after witnessing the selflessness of Princess Luna. I'm sure you're trying to get as many Healers on your side as possible... They're invaluable, after all. And with this farce, you certainly achieved it. Not to mention, your reputation was already great. Im impressed…"

Luna heard the voice from behind, accompanied by the sound of clapping. She smiled faintly, closed her eyes, and replied calmly:

"Knock before entering, Amon."

Amon smiled faintly as he leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. "Apologies, my princess. I was just intrigued by your splendid speech."

Luna smiled, washing her face before grabbing a towel. "I learned from the best, what can I say? Someone taught me very well how to manipulate the public."

"You sounded sincere, though… And I've told you many times, you should walk your own path. There's no need to walk mine." Amon said thoughtfully. Even so, he couldn't help the small, proud smile tugging at his lips when he heard her say she learned from him.

"Who said I wasn't sincere? Besides… you vanished for months. So guess how I feel right now?" Luna asked, puffing out her cheeks in righteous indignation as she pouted and crossed her arms.

Amon gave her an apologetic smile, wrapping his arms around her neck as he leaned forward. "Sorry. I was really busy."

"You mean you were preparing that big surprise of yours again?" Luna scoffed, brushing him off.

"Well, yes. It's quite big, actually. And I'm sure you'll like it…" he said with a small smile. Then he tilted his head, studying her face before leaning in to kiss her nose. "I'm pleased, though…" he muttered, moving in to kiss her cheek next.

"Stop it." She pushed his face away with a groan, turning toward the mirror and tidying her dress. "And what do you mean pleased?" she asked, raising a brow.

"Yes. The dress you're wearing... it's my gift, isn't it?" His lips curled into a amused smile as he looked at her dress. It was the same one he had given her months ago in the Forgotten Shore.

"Tsk, I'm going to burn it now." Luna muttered in annoyance as she walked away, settling into her seat with one hand resting protectively on her belly.

Amon sighed helplessly, shaking his head but slowly, his expression changed. First, it was thoughtful, then darker as he looked at her. "What was that about the second nightmare?"

"You heard me." Luna answered flatly.

"You never discussed it with me," Amon said calmly, though a hint of displeasure crept into his voice.

Luna laughed softly, crossing her legs as she leaned back. "You're hilarious. You never discuss your plans with anyone. You act on your own, without considering how others feel when they realize they were nothing but tools for you to achieve your desired results… and now that there's something you can't control, you're angry?"

She shook her head in amusement before adding, "I have to admit, though… it's really fun to make others question their lives."

Amon remained silent for a moment, nodding to himself. "Heh… right?"

"Pfthhh… sure it is." She poured herself a glass of wine, but it vanished from her hand instantly. Luna raised an eyebrow in surprise, glancing at Amon with a questioning gaze.

"Don't look at me like that, you're pregnant, so no drinking, love." Amon smirked as he took a seat and leaned back, his cane resting at his side.

"Hmm? Nonsense. I can just use New Life on myself and it'd be fine. Not to mention I'm ridiculously resilient and overflowing with vitality. Even dying feels nearly impossible… I could just use New Life and that's it…" She sighed, staring down at her belly.

"Now that I think about it… your dormant ability is New Life. And your Awakened Ability is Life's Exploitation. Those two are kind of broken, I won't lie." Amon spoke with a wry smile, disbelief clear on his face.

"It's not that simple. For now, I can't even use New Life properly. I need to absorb lifeforce first and channel it to activate it. And that's only possible with my Awakened Ability. Without it, I'd have to use my own lifeforce." She rolled her eyes.

"That's why you look older?" Amon raised an eyebrow. Others might not notice, but he knew Luna's body intimately, there wasn't a part of her he wasn't familiar with, as strange as it sounded. But the point was, he had noticed that Luna looked a few years older. Her face was more mature now, lacking the youthful energy and excitement, she looked almost... Motherly.

"Yes, I sacrificed a few years to test something. Don't worry, I'll just kill some beasts and absorb their lifeforce to regain my youthful appearance. It's nothing important."

Luna paused then, glancing at him as if she wanted to speak but couldn't quite find the words. After a few seconds of silence, she nodded to herself and finally said, quietly but firmly, "I'm already a Sower. Which means my acting method will be tied to reproduction. I'm going to need your help."

"No way. I'm not conceiving the child." Amon grimaced, feeling his blood run cold.

"You won't." Luna exhaled sharply. "After giving birth to Evangelo, I'll be able to digest a good portion of the Sower's characteristics. But to fully digest it later, I'll need to have sex many times. Technically, I'll be needing sperm." She shot him a flat look. "So who exactly do you think I'm going to fuck, dumbass?"

She rolled her eyes, exhausted just from having to explain it.

"Hmm… still sucks, for some reason. Feels like I'll be a sex slave." Amon muttered in displeasure.

"You will be," Luna replied without a hint of hesitation. "But your sperm won't get me pregnant this time. Because of unforeseen circumstances, I ended up carrying your child, so I decided to give birth to Evangelo, since he's genuinely ours. A symbol of our love."

Amon cringed as she said that. Luna, too, avoided his gaze, her expression twisting into a pained grimace.

"That sounded..."

"Yeah… let's forget it. What were you talking about?" Amon sighed in relief.

Luna composed herself, resting her hands on her lap. "I will use your sperm to impregnate myself again. Though, this time, those things will not be our children. And not just myself, I'll be capturing nightmare creatures and forcing them to reproduce endlessly as well, until they die. If they struggle, then I'll use my bodily fluids and essence to accelerate the process."

"A what now?" Amon leaned forward.

"Exactly what I said. I'll corrupt them in my womb, turn them into Abominations, and then absorb their lifeforce. The same will happen to the offspring of the nightmare creatures as well. I'll use all of them to create potions, mostly healing potions. Nothing provides better ingredients, really. The Sower's acting method isn't sunshine and rainbows, after all." She shrugged and leaned back.

Amon gave a faint smile, adjusting his monocle. Well… what a surprise from the pathway of evil, huh? Whatever… Wait, why does it feel like we're normalizing all of this? This isn't normal. But… why do I feel like there's nothing wrong with it? It's supposed to be disgusting, isn't it?

Hmm… my humanity…

Fuck, I'm becoming more and more like an Error. And Luna's becoming a Chaos Primogenitor. Medici too, with all those rumors about a bloodthirsty knight in dark armor who burns everything, including himself…

Uniquenesses are really something...

"Fine by me. I need to prepare for my ritual as well… The second nightmare is quite the gift from the Spell. It's exactly what I need. There's no need to use some useless tricks. I just need to become the key antagonist in the nightmare. Funny, isn't it?" Amon laughed, his voice pleasant and composed.

"Charmed…" Luna smiled sultrily, tilting her head as she rested her cheek on her palm.

Amon shrugged. Still, a small sense of regret settled in his chest. "If I were strong enough… I could've created avatars to help you digest the Sower's characteristics more easily. Just create a few avatars, leave them with you… and at the same time, I could take care of my own business. How inefficient."

Luna nodded. She knew that if Amon had avatars, she could have achieved her goal far more quickly. "Doesn't matter. We can still get it done."

Amon nodded, though bitterness tugged at the corner of his mouth. "So… have you found a seed of nightmare yet?"

"No. Seishan and I are still searching for the suitable Seed." She muttered helplessly.

"I see…" Amon's lips curled into a small, enigmatic smile.

Luna's frown deepened immediately. She tilted her head, narrowing her eyes defensively. She didn't know what Amon was planning, but she doubted it would be something she liked. Sometimes, she really hated it when he acted on his own, disregarding the thoughts and feelings of others. Of course, she wanted him to be happy but sometimes, she felt a bit lonely. It was as if he was always leaving her behind, going on adventures, doing whatever he wanted, living as he pleased. She would be lying if she said she wasn't a little envious.

Sighing, Luna shook her head. She rose from her seat and walked toward him, her steps soft but deliberate. When she reached him, she placed two fingers under his chin and guided his gaze upward, forcing him to meet her eyes.

"Whatever you're planning… please don't disappoint me."

Amon stayed still for a long, quiet moment. Then he lifted both hands in a gesture of surrender, leaning back with an easy, almost innocent smile.

"You don't have to worry," he said lightly. "I'm not planning anything."

Luna's suspicion only intensified. She could see it in the way one corner of his mouth twitched, but she restrained herself, choosing trust over confrontation.

"Good," she said at last, brushing his cheek with her thumb. Her smile softened, warm and deceptively gentle. "Good boy."

Amon's smile evaporated. His expression flattened into something unreadable and colder. He stared up at her without blinking.

"…On the other hand," he said calmly, "I do have some plans."

Luna laughed softly, settling onto his lap as she leaned back against him. Amon stayed motionless for a moment, unsure of her intentions, but than he shrugged.

Luna yelped in surprise, but she wasn't complaining since Amon's hands slowly slid along her thighs, she still had her underwear which made it little awkward. But it was just annoyence at this point, really.

"Mmh… not bad." She nodded in satisfaction as his hand slipped under her underwear. He was carrasing the slit and than inserting his fingers in her vagina.

Few minutes later, she smiled faintly, turned around and positioned herself, looking down at him.

Amon leaned back, looking up at Luna's scarlet eyes. Luna brushed her white hair behind her ear, her smile sultry as she tilted her head and grabbed his penis, aligning it and than slowly, she lowered herself, inserting it in her vagina.

She was bit uncomfortable because of her belly. but it was fine, she thought as she rose and than slid down, burying the penis deeper as she moaned with a blissful eyes.

Maybe it was because she was from Chaos Primogenitor pathway... Maybe that's why it was so damn pleasing.

Amon grabbed her ass, digging his nails in her flesh and pulled it down abruptly, inserting his penis completely inside her until it stopped.

"Ohhh... Oh shit~" satisfied moan escaped her lips, but there was hint of annoyance found in the depth of her eyes.

"Not so hard, god damnit!" She muttered in irritation, though she was bit helpless as Amon pulled down her dress.

"Oh? By the way, since press conference is over... Can you find time to come to the forgotten shore? Mr. Jacob can transport you there. And you can anchor yourself to the crimson spire." Amon said thoughtfully as he moved her hips up and down.

"Why the hell do you always have to run your mouth when we're having sex?! It's like this every damn time!"Luna complained as Amon buried his head in her chest.

"Heh, it's always too soft and comfortable." Amon laughed.

Luna clicked her tongue in annoyance, wrapping her arms around his neck, moving up and down. Sound of their skins colliding filled the room as Luna kissed him, saliva dripping from their mouths.

Than, her expression contorted as she gasped and fell down one last time.

"Mhmm... Fuck~" she muttered blissfully. Than sighed and pulled out his penis from her vagina.

Standing up, she looked at Amon who was still sitting and said calmly. "Go to restroom and clean yourself."

"Yeah… what about you?" Amon asked, a bit confused, as he pulled up his pants.

"You don't need to worry about that," she said, wiping the sperm from her thighs. "I've already absorbed all of it."

Then she paused, frowning and glaring at him as she straightened her dress. "Fucker, I'm pregnant! I told you to go slow! Haaaa… I can protect the baby because of my abilities, but I don't like making Evangelo uncomfortable."

"Fine, fine. My apologies, Lady Dearest," Amon said, waving his hand as he left the room.

Soon, he returned, his expression conflicted and thoughtful as he walked absentmindedly.

Luna raised an eyebrow. "What? I know I'm not in shape because of the pregnancy, but it wasn't that bad, right?"

"No, it's not about that," Amon shook his head. "What do you really think about anchoring yourself to the Crimson Spire?"

Luna nodded, sensing the source of his distress. "Is it really that important?" she asked, gesturing for him to sit beside her.

Amon nodded, lowering himself onto the couch and resting his head in her lap. "It's just…" he began, then paused, feeling awkward about what he was about to say. It wasn't like him to act this way, but it was mostly because of Luna, and he couldn't help but think it was a little childish.

"In our previous world… we walked our own paths and drifted apart. There were many reasons for it, my own issues, your situation at university… but mostly, it was the distance that truly separated us. I stayed in Athens while you went to London… so…"

Luna's expression softened, and she laughed gently, caressing his hair with a warm smile. "Are you worried that we'll grow distant again just because we're living in different regions?"

Amon turned away, avoiding her gaze. "Forget it… it's idiotic anyway."

Luna felt a flicker of guilt as she heard his words. She understood how he truly felt about this. She also knew that the reason Amon had taken over the entire region wasn't solely out of greed, it was because he wanted to live there with her, with Medici, and with his friends.

He may not outwardly show it, but Amon had always been anxious and regretful when it came to goodbyes. More than that, he feared growing distant emotionally, to the point where those closest to him could drift away and become strangers.

"Mother might not allow it. I don't know why, but she's wary of your teacher. She insists that I must remain in Ravenheart…"

She leaned back, a pained look crossing her face. "Amon… I have something to tell you… There's a chance I might marry the Scion of the Nightgarden to forge an alliance with the House of Night through marriage."

Amon opened his eyes, dark and chilling. His expression remained unreadable, and he stayed silent for several long, agonizing seconds. Finally, he whispered, almost mechanically, "I see…"

Luna's expression tightened as she sighed. "That's just how it is. The Song Clan is relying on me. If my reputation is ruined, the Clan's influence will weaken. You know how it is… Back in our world, many celebrities fell because of scandals like this. The jealous and the wicked always take delight in seeing someone fall from the top, they'll fan the flames without hesitation."

Amon nodded. With Luna's pregnancy, the situation was even more serious. On the surface, it might seem trivial, but reputation mattered: it was power, influence and a shield. If the father of her child didn't appear, Luna would face grave trouble. From being praised and admired, she could quickly become loathed and mocked. Some would call her a whore; others would exaggerate, inventing stories just to taint her name. He knew it all too well, he had used similar strategies himself.

People didn't care about right or wrong. They were fickle, easily manipulated. Truth rarely mattered. What they craved was entertainment. They were pitiful, petty, and consumed by bitterness and envy.

He knew this from his previous life. Someone would claim something as true, and like sheep, others would follow blindly without investigating. Famous players and fighters had been falsely accused of sexual assault by envious, spiteful people. Then there were the truly pitiful cases... People wronged and unheard, simply because someone else was famous or attractive. If his memory didn't fail him, there was even that incident when a young man ran over a mother and her baby. How many ignored the death of an innocent woman and child just because the perpetrator was rich and handsome, people declaring that he didn't deserve punishment?

That was how disgusting people were. And Amon was one hundred percent certain: throw the public a bone, give them an opportunity… and they would devour you without hesitation.

Of course, not everyone was like that. But many were. How did he know this? Well… he had been one of them at some point in his life. But after Lazare died, he simply didn't care about any of it. He felt too hollow to hold interest in whether someone was killed, falsely accused, or escaped punishment.

Maybe that was why he had gone to the Forgotten Shore. A remote, isolated region where he could surround himself with people he trusted and liked, rather than some random fools.

But that didn't matter right now. What mattered was that Luna would be married off to some idiot from a Great Clan, all to cover the fact that Amon was the father because he had refused the Song Clan's offer. He had declined Ki Song's invitation to be tied to her clan and acknowledge her as his sovereign. And because of that, Ki Song was trying to take Amon's child from him to maintain her influence…

So the world would see the child not as a bastard, but as the legitimate heir to inherit Ravenheart after Luna. Some fool would raise Amon's son, pretending to be the child's father.

My son… His expression darkened at the thought. Yet even so, he understood Ki Song's reasoning. It was pragmatic, ruthless and necessary as well to maintain her sphere of influence.

Amon knew how many Awakened had joined the Valor Clan solely because Nephis was there. None of them cared about the clan itself, they simply adored Nephis. Luna now held a similar level of influence. And unlike that idiot Anvil, Ki Song was doing everything she could to capitalize on it and strengthen her clan.

How intriguing… Amon thought with a small smile.

"Don't worry… it's not as hopeless as it looks." Amon murmured softly, an entertained expression playing on his face.

"I hope so… because this will happen soon. Before I give birth." Luna muttered with a sigh.

So two months… no, one month is all I have. Interesting… Even if I reveal myself as the father right now, the Song Clan will deny it, and Luna will have no choice but to obey her mother, the Sovereign.

So… what I need right now is to buy myself time. And prepare a great excuse, one so good that instead of hatred, people will look at Luna with sympathy.

"I might have an idea for that… but it's risky." He said, looking up at Luna.

She nodded, waiting for him to continue but as Amon laid out the plan, all the color drained from her face. Luna froze, staring at him in disbelief.

"Are you serious? This is dangerous… you're asking me to gamble with-" Her voice faltered, uncertainty clouding her eyes.

"I know." Amon said quietly, but his tone was unwavering. "But I also have a way to keep everything under control. So…" His gaze locked onto hers. "Are you ready to take the risk?"

Luna hesitated. For a moment she looked torn between instinct and trust. Then she inhaled, slow and deep, and released the breath in a soft exhale.

"Fine." she said. "Let's do this."

Amon's lips curled into a faint, knowing smile. "That's my girl…"

[A/N: Jeez, I really hate writing R18 scenes, but the Chaos Primogenitor pathway is centered on reproduction, so it's inevitable. Now I kind of regret not choosing the Moon pathway, not gonna lie. Anyway, I think Amon's plan should be obvious based on all the information I've given, so I won't explain it.

Luna's speech was also inspired by that one Battlefield 6 edit, lol. medics really are that cool.

As for the characters, you can see how Luna and Amon are slowly changing. Amon has shifted from a disillusioned, biased kid into someone cold, mischievous, and cunning. Luna, who used to be soft and naive, is becoming more sinister, unsettling, and pragmatic. Medici is also growing increasingly bloodthirsty.

I haven't checked thoroughly for grammar mistakes this time. I usually go over everything three times, but right now I only did one pass, so if there are errors, my apologies.

That's it for now. Enjoy.]
