Chapter 80 - Bloodbath of Dolos

Chapter 80: Bloodbath of Dolos

"Seize him!" "That's an enormous bounty!" "Don't let him escape!"

The onlookers instantly transformed into hungry wolves, pouncing on you from all directions. You stood still, your Golden Eyes gleaming with a cold light. Those rushing at the very front were precisely the ones who had most fiercely pursued Cipher.

One burly man with a scarred face grinned sinisterly, "Little brat, last time that little female cat got away, but this time you won't be so lucky!" Another scar-faced man licked his lips, "Heh heh, this much bounty is enough for me to spend a lifetime!"

You were expressionless, your finger moving slightly. More Golden Threads surged forth! The density was several times that of before!

The burly man with the scarred face still held a sinister grin, but a bloodstain suddenly appeared on his chest. He looked down at his chest, a large amount of blood gushing from his mouth, and after staggering a few steps, he collapsed with a thud.

The scar-faced man tried to stop, but a Golden Thread had already cut him in half at the waist. His upper and lower body separated, internal organs spilling everywhere. The several thieves next to him had intended to rush over together, but were so terrified by the gruesome sight of the first two that their faces turned ashen, and they turned to flee, only to be simultaneously pierced by seven or eight Golden Threads. His body was instantly cut into over a dozen pieces, blood and flesh flying.

"Mon-monster…" Someone trembled as they retreated, their face pale.

But greed made even more people lose their minds. "It's just a trick! Everyone, charge together!" "Kill him! Share the bounty!"

Dozens of people rushed at you simultaneously, swords and knives raised! Golden Threads followed like shadows, weaving through the crowd. Every flash took another worthless life. Some tried to hide in alleys, only to find Golden Threads already waiting there. Some tried to climb over walls to escape, but were cut in two mid-air. Others knelt and begged for mercy, but only merciless death awaited them.

The entire plaza instantly transformed into a living hell! The remaining gamblers finally realized that this seemingly frail child before them was not someone they could deal with. Screams rose and fell, and the crowd scattered like birds and beasts.

But you had no intention of letting them go. Among these people, many had harbored ill will towards Cipher. All of them wanted her dead. If that was the case, then their blood would suffice as repayment.

The King watched the scene of slaughter before him, finally breaking down completely. He slumped onto his throne, his face ashen, "You, who exactly are you?"

"Me?" You walked towards the King, each step leaving a pool of blood. You reached the King, your once handsome face now bearing a chilling coldness. "Who am I?"

"I am the thief you cornered." "I am the Chrysos Heir you put a bounty on."

With each sentence, you took another step forward. The King wanted to retreat, but found that the area behind the throne was already covered in Golden Threads.

"Ultimately, you are the ones who harmed her." "So… you all must die."

As your words fell, a Golden Thread instantly pierced the King's right shoulder. "Ah!" A scream echoed throughout the entire plaza. The King clutched his wound, blood gushing from between his fingers.

"Mercy! I'll give you money! I'll give you lots and lots of money!" He wailed, no longer possessing any kingly dignity. "All of Dolos's wealth can be yours! Just spare me!"

You shook your head. "Money?" You waved your hand, and the pile of gold coins you had just won clattered to the ground, scattering everywhere. The gold coins rolled across the floor. "It's not money I want."

The King's eyes widened in despair. Just then, the urgent sound of horse hooves came from afar. A troop of knights was approaching from the direction of the castle, led by a man in magnificent armor.

"Father King!" The man dismounted, followed by dozens of elite knights. He saw the bloody scene in the plaza, and his face instantly turned pale. "Who dares commit such violence in Dolos?!" "Seize this assassin!"

The knights drew their longswords one after another, surrounding you. But as soon as they approached, they felt a suffocating killing intent. You slowly turned around. Those golden pupils now seemed to burn with the fires of hell.

The man was Dolos's First Prince, a seasoned warrior, but upon seeing your eyes, he involuntarily took a step back. The killing intent emanating from this youth, who looked to be only around ten years old, was surprisingly terrifying.

"You… are you a Chrysos Heir?!" The First Prince asked tremblingly.

You did not answer, more Golden Threads shot towards him. "Wait!" An aged voice rang out, and an old man in priestly robes appeared below the platform. "Stop! Child, slaughter cannot solve problems…"

Before he could finish speaking, a Golden Thread had already pierced his chest. The old priest's eyes widened, and he fell down in disbelief.

You turned to the King, who was slumped on the throne. Golden Threads rained down. The screams of the King and the First Prince abruptly ceased. The Dolos royal family, annihilated.

You stood in the pool of blood, calmly looking at the corpses covering the ground. More footsteps of soldiers came from a distance. They all thought you would flee the city, but you had already turned and walked further into the city. Tonight's blood was not enough. The plaza behind you became a river of blood, and your figure quickly disappeared in the firelight.

You quickly locked onto several targets. The first was the Melton Earl's mansion in the east of the city. It was an imposing three-story building, with two stone beast statues standing at its entrance. You had once "borrowed" a priceless treasure from there.

The Earl himself was fat and gluttonous, and in his daily life, he loved to exploit his subjects and extort their wealth. He was currently in his study, calculating accounts, completely unaware that death had already arrived. Golden Threads silently passed through the window lattice. The Earl was still engrossed in his calculations when a bloodstain suddenly appeared on his neck. He didn't even have time to cry out before he collapsed onto the pile of gold coins.

The second was the wealthy merchant's residence in the south of the city. The fat merchant was named Victor, and he had made his fortune through smuggling and usury. You had once visited his treasure chamber and taken a few rare gems. At this moment, Victor was reveling with his mistress. The laughter coming from the room abruptly ceased.

The third, the fourth… One after another. Those powerful figures who usually lorded over others now became fish on a chopping block. You did not know which of them was the mastermind behind the bounty on you. But it didn't matter. Since they had all been your "big customers," then to nip the problem in the bud, not one could be left alive.

The last place was the tax official's residence in the west of the city. That thin old man loved to exploit merchants and enrich himself. When the Golden Thread cut his shriveled neck, he was still counting money in his dream.

After dealing with these "troubles," you began to clear the wanted posters from the streets and alleys. Every piece of paper with your and Cipher's portraits printed on it turned into shreds under the Golden Threads. On the walls, on the doors, on the notice boards… Not a single one remained.
