Chapter 8 - EP.8 A Few Weeks After the Kiss

20th Floor

At her desk on the 20th floor, Celeste flipped through a stack of documents.

Ding! A text from Jinwoo lit up her phone.

Today's the final shoot!!I've got a few free days before next week's interviews—Where should we go? Wanna travel somewhere just us?

Next to her, Daniel was packing his luggage—and hers too.

"I'll take care of yours as well,"he said, zipping her suitcase with practiced ease.

But Celeste didn't even look up from the papers.

"No need. I'll go later.I have plans tonight."

Daniel's face twisted instantly.

"…You're not coming with me?"He dropped the neck pillow he was holding.

"So you're sending me off alone, huh?Planning to stay behind and get all cozy with him again?"

Celeste let out a small laugh and finally looked up.

"Oh boy… our big baby's having another tantrum."

"Screw it. I'm not going. What's the point? It's not a Langley Fragrance Launch without you.If I go alone, it's just a boring business trip."

With a groan, he threw himself onto the couch, sulking.

Celeste quietly walked overand wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.

The gesture was familiar, yet unexpected—Daniel froze.

She rested her chin on his back and whispered,

"If it weren't for you, I couldn't have built all this.Running this company without you…I honestly don't know how I'd do it.That's why, no matter what—family comes first."

Daniel mumbled, lips still pouting,

"…You only call me family when you want something."

She chuckled and tapped the back of his head.

"Save the sass for the trip.Just go ahead and attend the event first.I'll be there soon enough."

He glanced over at her, then sighed and nodded.

"You promise?"

"I do. If I don't show up, George and Marcel will blow up my phone anyway."

"You're so annoying… Just get there soon."

"I will. Promise."

Daniel – On the Plane

Daniel reclined his seat and closed his eyes, but sleep didn't come.

Through the patchy clouds,he watched the lights of Seoul fade away.

When the cabin lights dimmed,he pulled out his phone and opened his gallery.

Thousands of photos—all of Celeste, laughing and smiling.

He smirked, slid the phone back into his suit pocket, and leaned his head back.

"…While I'm gone,I hope you smile a little less."

Meanwhile, Jinwoo was racing through a whirlwind of scenes.Today was the final shoot for Steel and Petals.Even under the lights, reading through scripts, his mind kept drifting back to Celeste.

Then suddenly—

"Excuse me… the Chairwoman is here."

"What?!"

He turned around—and there she was.

Wearing a white power suit and black sunglasses,Celeste strode into the set alone, smiling as she greeted the staff.

"Whoa! The Chairwoman herself?!"

"Wait… Is she for real?! She looks like a movie star…"

Whispers spread like wildfire.

"Jinwoo!"

Celeste removed her sunglasses and waved brightly at him, walking straight into the center of the set.

Eyes followed her in awe. Someone whispered,

"She actually came… This is my first time seeing her in real life."

"She's even more glamorous than Jinwoo…"

Jinwoo nearly sprinted toward her.

"What the— You came alone? No security? No heads-up?"

"Steve dropped me off. He's waiting outside. It's your last shoot, isn't it?I booked a place for dinner—thought I'd treat your whole team."

📍That Evening – Korean BBQ in Hannam-dong

8:30 PM.The Steel and Petals wrap party was in full swing.

The entire restaurant was packed—the director, lead and supporting actors, crew, all gathered in celebration.

The air buzzed with laughter and clinking glasses.

Celeste sat at the center table, surrounded by key cast and crew.

She smiled softly, nodding as others chatted around her.

Just then—Jinwoo walked in, freshly showered, hair still damp.

"Jinwoo's here!"

He passed between tables, bowing and greeting the crew.

"Thank you, everyone. Really.I'm so grateful."

"All your hard work paid off!"

Even as he smiled, his eyes kept drifting toward Celeste.

Finally, he reached her tableand quietly took the seat beside her.

Celeste turned to him with a calm smile.

Leaning in, Jinwoo whispered,

"Boss… I need to talk to you. Outside, just for a minute."

Beneath the table,he gently took her hand.

Celeste looked surprisedbut said nothing.

As they stood to leave toward the back exit—a young lighting tech caught the moment and blurted out:

"OH MY GOD… WHAT IS THIS VISUAL?!"

"Even if the press gets this, I wouldn't be mad. They're like a magazine cover come to life."

"Wait—are they seriously dating?!I saw it. I saw the hand-holding with my own two eyes!!"

Within seconds,"Jinwoo x Celeste" became not just a rumor, but a confirmed real-life couple sighting among the crew.

Outside the restaurant

"What's going on?" Celeste asked.

"I got a text from brother-in-law earlier," Jinwoo said.

"He told me not to hog you and to send you back. Did you really clear your schedule… for me? I'm seriously touched."

"…Please stop calling him your brother-in-law in public."

"Oops. Habit."

"Habit?! We've only been together for a few months."

"…Wait. You just said it out loud."

"Said what?"

"That we're together. You admitted it."

"…No, that's not what I meant—ugh, you always trap me with this!"

"Anyway, finish up here. Howard's nearby—call him if you need anything."

"When will you be back?"

"Official stuff wraps in two days. But there are some side meetings…So maybe 3–4 more days."

"WHAT?!I literally kept this week open so we could go somewhere! How am I supposed to survive that long? Where are you even going?!"

"France.Wait—why am I telling you all this?Just go back in. I'll leave in like 20 minutes. You've got the card, right?"

"I don't need your card. I've got money, okay? This is exactly why brother-in-law keeps looking at me like I'm some scam artist."

"…Stop calling him that."

"Fine, fine. Got it."
