As the sun climbed in the distance, the glow shining over the majestic village and the grand mountain with the 4 faces of the former hokage and the newest one being formed at once.
Beneath that grand mountain, the most prominent building of this village stood.
It was the brightest building throughout konoha, yet it hid the deepest shadows no doubt...
Inside, a women sat. Her blond hair framing her face perfectly, her eyes shining with annoyance as she gazed at the guest with undeniable disgust.
That guest was danzo shimura...
The elder of the village that possessed darkness deeper than that hidden below the hokage building.
No... he was darkness personified as he gazed upon the hokage, tsunade senju. The last scion of the mostly eradicated senju clan.
His gaze piercing, "the last uchiha went rogue and you decided to let a bunch of genin 'handle' the situation?" His single eye narrowed thinly.
Tsunade glared back with wrath, "are you truly choosing to question the hokage? There wasn't enough shinobi after orochimaru's attack and the chain of missions to send out an effective chunin or jonin team."
Danzo was unbothered at all with her hateful glance, he was more than used to handling brats.
"Good job than, we lost the last uchiha... and one heir of a clan, not counting the rest. How vexing."
Tsunade just glared as the man walked out of the room, taking a piece of paper and reading through before signing. Continuing with the paperwork that she hated more than the bastard old man.
Shizune finally walked in after having waited till the shinobi of darkness had left the office.
"Lady tsunade, Hyuga are outraged after the death of neji during the mission to retrieve sasuke uchiha."
Tsunade glared at her apprentice. Her sensei was dead — and had left her to pick up the pieces. Orochimaru's attack. The Sand's betrayal. Their awkward apologies. And the impossible question of whether to forgive them and move forward.
And then there was the unstable Uchiha who had gone rogue. And the wannabe Hokage — too foolish to take seriously, and yet... someone she couldn't bring herself to denounce.
And looming above it all — Danzo Shimura, relentless in his criticism of her... and of her predecessors.
"Obviously they are outraged, what else can they do to remain relevant after all? A bunch of..." She sighed out, calming herself. "Are they now? And what do they seek as compensation?"
Her voice full of malice, this is why she didn't want to become hokage.
Shizune stopped unsure if to go on ahead and tell what the hyuga has asked for before deciding to not keep her master waiting, "the hyuga clan head has demanded the uchiha clans former domain as compensation for the death of hyuga neji..."
"Really now? The full uchiha district for a genin and a branch member at that? Do they think that I'm a pushover that cannot lead properly?"
Tsunade's face full of anger, she always had found those white eyed pricks too arrogant for their own good.
"And what do the other two wish for? the village itself? Or maybe the full land of fire?"
Shizune shook her head. "No. The Akimichi and Inuzuka have accepted the loss. The Inuzuka had it easier — the fallen heir wasn't their first choice. They've only asked for time to grieve... unlike the Hyuga."
Tsunade sighed softly, atleast they weren't being absolutely ridiculous with their demands, telling her apprentice to grant then those days off. It would be fine even with the aftermath of the event.
"What about naruto? Is he fine?"
