Ha, this volume has successfully concluded~
Actually, this book was truly written out of passion. At the time, I submitted the manuscript internally, but it was rejected (the reason being that the beginning was too scattered and lacked protagonist screen time).
So, after some thought, I decided to publish it directly on the first day of December. Currently, although it's relatively obscure, overall it's still decent.
The plot of this book is largely "taking one step at a time." Maybe when I write the next chapter, some wild idea will pop up. The rough outline of the plot currently only extends to the outbreak of the Great Heresy, so you'll find that when I lay down foreshadowing, I rarely write it very clearly, precisely to prevent contradicting myself later (chuckle).
Volume 1 was carefully chosen by me. The story of Dawnsing Star is peculiar in the Warhammer universe (it's about disaster relief rather than war) and very grimdark (efforts for half a day yield nothing, and everyone still dies).
However, when actually writing it, there were still many problems. Many parts were not fully described, and many plot developments were very rushed (no choice, for daily updates).
For example, I didn't really portray Ahriman's unpleasant personality and poor social skills, and the section where Perturabo deals with the planetary instruments was not originally intended to end in one chapter, but when it came to actually writing it...
I just had to make do. So, if any readers have any questions, feel free to ask. As long as it doesn't conflict too much with my basic ideas, I will try to revise it.
By the way, I'll explain two of the Primarchs here: Perturabo's attitude towards Morgan is one of appreciation for a capable individual with shared interests, but he is unwilling to show this appreciation too obviously, as he believes it makes him seem weak.
This is also why Perturabo suddenly lost his temper in Chapter 30: Magnus's healthy and playful attitude towards capable individuals displeased him, so his impulsive side briefly took over...
Returning to Magnus, this Primarch's portrayal in this volume is relatively negative, especially the part where he unintentionally crushed a Thousand Son with his own hand (some readers mentioned that this part might be too... stimulating, and not quite fit the overall writing style).
When shaping Magnus, I focused more on his weakness as a scholar, his compromises, his escapism, and his unwillingness to take responsibility. This was primarily to serve the plot.
Otherwise, given the disparity in combat power between Morgan and Magnus, it would have been impossible to calmly obtain Magnus's soul fragments... I'm sorry, little Magnus, I repent to you.
And Morgan, I am currently at a crossroads regarding Morgan's characterization. One path is absolute selfishness and egoism (for example, in manipulating Magnus), but for such a protagonist... I'm not sure if you all can accept that.
The other path is for her to gradually develop emotions. The specific situation will depend on the plot. Perhaps one day, Morgan will have the conviction to fight for others (a slight spoiler: this path leads to our adorable Archangel).
But it's still a bit early to talk about these things. Currently, I need to worry about Volume 2. Compared to Volume 1, the plot of Volume 2 will be much more expansive. The Rangdan Xenocides will involve at least nine Legions and several Primarchs.
I also plan to have a part of the Second Legion appear in this volume. The main character of Volume 2 will definitely be Lion El'Jonson. This person... is very difficult to get along with... I don't even dare to hope for the Lion's soul fragments. If Morgan can gain a little of the Lion's trust here, that will be considered a success. I still need to carefully consider what kind of people the Lion likes.
Next, I also plan to create an outstanding character from the Second Legion, probably a second-in-command type like Sevatar, reliable and powerful. In short, the above are just my personal thoughts and feelings.
