If you wanna do something, just go for it.
After class, Andrew planned to go straight to the teachers' office and ask Mafuyu Kirisu for permission to start a club—and get a room for it, too. Just thinking about it had him grinning like an idiot.
But first, he needed to talk to his angel, Mahiru.
So—
Right after she finished chatting with Yui Yuigahama and sat back down, Mahiru Shiina's phone buzzed with a notification.
She opened it, only to see a message from a certain troublemaker.
Andrew:"Mahiru, I've decided to start a club. Wanna join?"
Mahiru raised an eyebrow and tapped her pale fingers on the screen to reply:
Mahiru:"What kind of club?"
Andrew:"An offline gaming club. It'll focus on game creation, light novels, and manga."
Mahiru:"Ugh, the otaku vibes are strong with this one. You really are a damn otaku!"
Andrew:"Please call me a creative otaku. Or just Professor Andrew."
Mahiru:"Fine, Professor Andrew. I'm in."
Like she had a choice. If she didn't join, what if this guy turned his attention to other girls? Like that big-busted Yui Yuigahama who was just as hot as she was?
Nope. Not happening. Mahiru needed to keep an eye on him.
Andrew:"Long live my angel! After class, let's go to the office together. Oh, I also invited the girl who sits in front of me—Katō—to join."
Mahiru's smile froze.
Katō?
Who?
Wait... do we even have someone like that in our class?
Why don't I remember her at all?
Confused, Mahiru glanced back—and right at that moment, locked eyes with Katō Megumi.
So that's Katō? She's... kinda cute. But why can't I remember her?
Mahiru muttered quietly to herself, but suddenly, a wave of jealousy hit her.
Andrew was not the type to invite just any girl. If he asked Katō to join, there was only one reason.
He wanted to flirt with her!
Yep. Joining his club was definitely the right move.
Otherwise, before she knew it, Katō might end up with a baby bump.
And if she blinked too long, the baby might already be crawling around!
As those shameful thoughts filled her head, Mahiru bit her lip and fired off another message.
Mahiru:"About Katō… You'd better tell me exactly how you two know each other. Or else... don't even think about touching me tonight."
Andrew :"Yes ma'am! Lady Mahiru! I swear I'll spill everything—no secrets at all!"
His cheeky reply managed to make Mahiru, who was still pouting, burst into laughter. Then Andrew got to typing up how he and Katō met.
And so...
After class, Mahiru couldn't stop staring at Katō Megumi.
"Um… Shiina? Is there something on my face?"
Katō was getting flustered under Mahiru's intense stare.
Mahiru leaned in, curious."Katō, is it true that you and Andrew have been sitting front and back since elementary school?"
"Yep. I've even got photo proof. Even during choir practice, we always stood one in front of the other."
Saying that, Katō casually pulled out her phone and showed her a picture.
Mahiru took it—and yeah, it really was them.
Little Katō had her mouth open, mid-song, looking like a lost kitten. And right behind her stood a young Andrew, all awkward and baby-faced.
Mahiru's heart melted instantly.
So that's what he looked like as a kid?Adorable!
"Katō, could you send me this photo?"
"Uhh… well…"
"Pretty please?"
Mahiru grabbed her hand and stared at her with those huge, sparkly eyes.
Game over. Katō was no match.
After all, getting stared at by a literal angel like that? No one could say no.
And just like that, Katō gave in.
With the photo safely saved on her phone, Mahiru beamed with joy. Suddenly, she had no problem with Katō joining.
Fine, whatever—join if you want! No way she'd lose to her anyway!
...
Teachers' Office
Mafuyu Kirisu looked over the club application form on her desk and raised an eyebrow.
"'Offline Game & Light Novel Manga Club'?"
"Yep," Andrew said confidently, stepping up and launching into his pitch.
"A club focused on making games, writing light novels, and adapting them into manga!"
Mafuyu rolled her eyes. "I can read, you know. You don't need to explain like I'm five. Honestly, this sounds more like the start of a company than a club. Are you really planning to take this seriously?"
"Absolutely! That's why I'm begging you, Ms. Kirisu—please be our club advisor!"
With an advisor on board, they could apply for a clubroom—and even apply for funding from the school!
Mafuyu gave him a cold glare. "And you swear this won't mess up your grades?"
"Nope! Why would it? I mean, school's basically just prep for getting a decent job anyway, right?"
"And this is my passion—making games, novels, and manga. If I can chase my dream and make money doing what I love, that's a win-win."
"…Fine. But don't come crying to me if you regret it later. I'll be your advisor—but only on one condition: your grades don't drop. Or at least, not too much."
"If I find out any of you are slacking off on your studies, I'll shut the club down myself!"
Mafuyu was especially invested since Mahiru and Andrew were ranked #1 and #2 in their grade. Having top students in her class made her look good, too.
"Deal!" Andrew, Mahiru, and Katō all agreed in unison.
Katō might only be average, but with Mahiru and Andrew around, helping her improve shouldn't be too hard.
With the club officially approved, Andrew finally had his very own clubroom.
So that afternoon, he brought Mahiru and Katō along to clean it up.
Now that he had a proper room, things would be much easier.
Especially if he wanted to, you know… make a move on Mahiru.
While Andrew was getting caught up in his evil thoughts, Katō was starting to feel uneasy.
She never expected the other member of the club to be the Shiina Mahiru—beloved by all the guys, and admired by all the girls.
These two were definitely more than just friends.
And unless she was seeing things, Mahiru's gaze toward Andrew looked seriously soft. Like, really gentle.
Meanwhile…
At the hospital, Haruno Yukinoshita sat by her sister's bedside.
Holding Yukino's small hand, Haruno's expression was full of warmth.
"Just a little longer, Yukino… Once tonight's over, you'll be all better."
She'd already made up her mind—to offer herself to the devil.
Sure, every fairy tale and novel painted demons as dangerous monsters. But if this one could really cure her sister, then so be it.
If that devil could heal Yukino, he wouldn't be a demon at all—he'd be a god to them.
