The three were walking in the same large hallway, Cecilia leading the way as she held Clara's hand.
Alex stood behind the two, closely following. He still felt uneasy about Clara.
She seemed to be very intelligent, perhaps too intelligent for her age. She acted like a child, but she had moments where Alex wasn't able to be sure if she was really one.
Is it because of her Concept? What kind of Concept did these two even have?
Cecilia was extraordinarily powerful, and Alex never learned her SoulMechanism nor her Concept.
While a Concept merely symbolizes the person's ideologies and inner feelings, a Soul Mechanism holds the upper hand.
The Soul Mechanism ability can widely vary from one Blank to another, some might even hold powers too strong, they cannot wield it.
Not only that, after a person undergoes a Revelation, there is a possibility they lose their sanity, becoming monsters.
Alex understood the great risk of that, but he was also ready to go through a Revelation.
A Revelation would let him grasp more truth for his ability, and his other concerns. But getting through even one Revelation could be as hard as clearing the air of oxygen.
As Alex thought more about the system in this world, he remembered something he'd read off a newspaper.
It was circulating rather quickly, especially around the southern parts of Aeloria, which led to him getting hold of it.
However, in no time, most of these newspapers vanished with no trace, and no one dared to talk about it.
Thankfully, Alex had the chance to read it.
In the neighboring Empire, the Cirolean Empire, they never spoke of anything like Revelations. They announced an article called, "The Lies of Nyren."
Nyren, the Aeon of Wisdom, was the Aeon that bestowed this system on the world.
An Aeon held immense powers, too immense for one to even imagine. They were said to rule over hundreds, even thousands of civilizations and planets around the vast, expandable universe.
They were high dimensional beings, which revealed and bestowed powers upon mortals.
No one knew of their past, and no one knew how they became what they were now. They were all a mystery, except for one, which was the Aeon of Wrath that chose Earth as his main planet.
The article talked about how the system Nyren gave to the people of this world was no more than a lie, and the truth would shake the entire world.
It was all a false lie, made up by the Aeon of Wisdom to manipulate and control the people of Earth.
But, Alex believed none of it. The literal concept of the system held a lot of sense. It would be foolish for an Aeon who is said to have knowledge of everything to even lie about something of this matter.
Either way, Alex wasn't going to think about it any further. He had bigger things to worry about.
Zivko was already in the perfect position to strike, and murder Aurora.
Perhaps, members of the North Star Order were closely watching his every move, making him unable to kill. Or, as far as Alex knew, Zivko wouldn't attempt such a cowardly move with no honor.
For that reason, Alex felt a bit safer. But, the lingering feeling of stress never left. Since he came to this castle, things only seemed to get even worse.
"We're here." A young voice was heard by Alex, snapping him out of his deep thoughts.
Alex inspected the area. To the left of them, a staircase was seen.
They were just in the middle of the hallway, Clara and Cecilia were staring into the wall as if they were getting ready for something.
Cecilia slightly smiled as she took a few steps forward, facing the concrete wall.
"I have no time for this." said Alex, disappointed.
Ignoring Alex, Cecilia extended her hand, putting it directly on the concrete wall. She slowly then pushed harder until her hand slipped into the concrete wall, a light blue color was able to be seen from her wrist as her hand was completely inside the concrete wall.
Alex's eyes widened as he saw Cecilia move her entire body inside, Clara quietly giggling, following Cecilia.
Cecilia disappeared as she went inside, Clara followed her. Before completely going inside, she tilted her head a bit and looked at Alex,
"What are you waiting for? This is where you wanted to go." said Clara, a hint of sassyness in her tone.
Alex narrowed his eyes, annoyed by the behavior of the child. In front of Cecilia, she seemed to be a rather cute, well-mannered child. But, when it came to speaking with Alex, she acted like a outskirts rat.
Alex sighed, slowly stepping forward, following the two inside.
Copying Cecilia's movement, he put one hand through the wall, making sure he wasn't just seeing illusions.
If anything, Alex was now experienced when it got to sudden reveals like this, or the time where he was dropped into a Sanctuary. Even in the Dungeon of Virelith, he experienced a gruesome illusion.
Ignoring the painful remarks, he headed inside.
He blinked for a moment. After opening his eyes, he froze.
In front of him was a large room, made out of wood. There was a long, rectangular table that stretched throughout the room, and there were people seen sitting down on the large, fancy chairs.
On the other half, there was a medium sized coach and next to it were wooden, cheaper chairs.
Above it all, on the wall there was the symbol of the North Star Order engraved into the wall, towering above the entire room.
Hearing the loud chatter of the people that sat down next to the table was one thing, but the sight in front of him took him at a loss for words.
It felt warm in the room, a small wind was also biting at the three.
For people who call themselves the North Star Order, he had expected something far more than this.
Cecilia took the lead once more as Alex and Clara followed wordlessly.
Seeing Cecilia, the loud chatter of the mysterious people finally stopped. As Alex came closer to the table, he noticed sheets of paper in front of them. It was like they were discussing an important matter.
Quickly counting them in his head, Alex saw about six different people, including Cecilia and Clara.
There were ten chairs in total, four were occupied and six were left.
Cecilia sat down first, Clara then quickly sat next to her. Alex was very confused, and was still speechless.
There was an open chair in front of Cecilia, which he chose to be the best option.
He sat down, the room silent. Alex looked to his left and saw a woman sitting down, which he couldn't recognize.
She had a haunting, ethereal presence. Her ash brown hair with gray undertones fell loosely over her shoulders, slightly messy but natural, giving her a soft yet somber look.
Her face was pale and expressionless, almost ghostlike, with tired gray-blue eyes that seemed to stare into Alex.
She wore a modest black robe with wide sleeves and a high collar, layered with a pale, cream-colored mantle over her shoulders. Along with all of that, a simple crescent necklace hung around her neck.
"Hello." She quietly greeted.
Alex forgot how to answer, even for a simple response, he wasn't able to do it.
He slowly, hesitantly, nodded his head. The woman turned her head around as she greeted Cecilia and Clara the same way.
There was another woman sitting down, silently, as if waiting for somebody to speak. She had short blonde hair and an adult, mature face.
Next to her was a man that wore a simple suit, along with a hat. His brown hair was barely able to be seen.
Looking further, he finally saw one he could recognize. It was Astra Belvoir, a cousin of Cecilia.
However, Astra seemed as if she didn't even know Alex was sitting down next to the same table with her.
"Hey, Cecilia. You brought the new guy?" spoke Astra, her voice full of pride.
Cecilia nodded, she pointed to Alex then replied, "Here he is, his name is Alex. He passed the trial, and I am sure he's going to be a great addition to the Order."
The mysterious lady that was sitting next to Alex suddenly whispered, "I am Kaene. It's nice to meet you."
Alex raised a brow, 'No last name? Is she like me?'
The golden haired lady then introduced herself, "Adelia Ilsai. If Miss Cecilia is sure of your ability, then I have to set high expectations for you."
Following them, the dark-haired man in a suit followed in the same order, "I am Aren of House Aseria, son of General Alfred."
Alex nodded. General Alfred was one of the most famous of all generals in Aeloria, he was a very popular and admirable figure, and his loyalty was unmatched.
"You probably already know of me, but I am Astra Belvoir." Astra exclaimed.
