Chapter 147 - Chapter 148: Teams and Lone Wolves

Alright, you have fifteen minutes to prepare. Of course, you may form alliances if you wish—anything goes. We only care about the result.

After saying this, Cai Yue'er left the classroom with Shen Yi and the others, waiting outside.

Once outside, Shen Yi hesitated, her expression showing she had something to say but was holding back.

"Enough. Just say what's on your mind," Cai Yue'er said directly.

Shen Yi paused for a moment, then finally spoke:

"Elder Cai, what you said just now—wouldn't that be a little unfair to Fors?

With your words, combined with Fors's own attitude, won't she very likely become the target of everyone's hostility during the free-for-all? In terms of forming teams, she'd also be at a disadvantage."

What Cai Yue'er had said earlier sounded like praise, but in truth, it was more like a smiling execution—raising Fors only to turn her into the public enemy of the new Class One. Coupled with Fors's arrogant demeanor, the danger was obvious.

In the melee, Fors was almost certain to be targeted. Just Wu Siduo's reaction alone made it clear she would attack, and others might easily join in. After all, Elder Cai had explicitly declared Fors the strongest of the new students.

Whether to test themselves against her or to eliminate a strong competitor early, Fors was bound to draw the most fire.

What's more, Cai Yue'er had said teams were allowed—putting her at an even greater disadvantage.

But Cai Yue'er only smiled faintly and replied:

"Hehe, don't worry. That little girl isn't as simple as you think.

Geniuses need to be cultivated with special methods. Give them some pressure, and it will ignite their potential.

Besides, with Fors's strength, if we didn't allow others to form teams to gang up on her, no one could shake her hold on the Class President position."

Her tone carried a meaningful edge.

Meanwhile, back inside the classroom.

"For, hello. My name is Luo Guixing, also a member of Class One. I'd like to invite you to join our team—what do you think?"

The speaker was a handsome boy with fair skin, blue hair, and blue eyes, radiating a warm and approachable aura.

His name: Luo Guixing, Martial Soul: Spatial Element. Ranked seventeenth on the Young Prodigy Ranking, known as Imprisoning Luo Guixing.

At a time when Fors seemed destined to be everyone's enemy, Luo Guixing dared to openly invite her into his team.

His thinking was different from the others. In his view, Fors—who was already being subtly isolated—was actually the perfect teammate. He'd noticed how no one approached her during the formation of teams.

Fors's strength was undeniable—Cai Yue'er herself had named her the strongest of their cohort. Even if no one liked it, that fact alone set her apart from most.

And Luo Guixing? He had already gathered three other members. His was one of the largest teams in the class.

In his mind, the only real threats among the new students were the other four listed on the Young Prodigy Ranking—and perhaps Fors. The most troublesome was Wu Siduo, who had already reached the fourth ring level.

Inviting Fors wasn't just about her looks. It was also about her strength. If she truly joined his group, Luo Guixing was confident: the Class President seat would be his.

After all, his belief was simple: individual power is limited, but the strength of a group is infinite.

"Not interested."

But the girl only gave him a sidelong glance, her tone utterly dismissive.

"Alright then. I just hope, when the time comes, Fors, you'll show us some mercy," Luo Guixing said with the same calm smile, as if unfazed by her rejection.

At the same time, Nan Fusheng caught a signal from Tang Wulin. Wulin suggested that they all avoid clumping together—each should join different teams, making it easier to betray others later.

Nan Fusheng, however, had no strong feelings about it. To him, becoming Class President was a hassle. Those contribution points were meaningless to him—what he really wanted required hundreds of thousands at minimum. A mere thousand per month? Not worth the burden of responsibility.

Still, Xie Xie and Xu Xiaoyan were enjoying themselves.

Xie Xie quickly recruited two other agility-type Soul Masters, forming a trio he cheekily named: "Loot Pickers."

As for Xu Xiaoyan…

"Can I join your team? I don't care about being Class President, I just… really hate pain. I'm a control-type Battle Soul Master—I can support you, and I don't need the President spot. When only our team is left, I'll voluntarily withdraw, okay?"

Already pretty, Xu Xiaoyan now put on a pitiful, doe-eyed expression. For kids their age, it was devastating.

Soon enough, she joined one of the larger teams—Luo Guixing's. That group now had five members in total.

Tang Wulin chose to team with Gu Yue. With her innate pride, Gu Yue was never going to seek out a team on her own. Together, they paired with a large-framed boy, forming a group of three.

And Nan Fusheng? He chose to be a lone wolf.

The same choice was made by Fors and Wu Siduo.

Fors needed no explanation.

Wu Siduo carried an aura of cold isolation. Her icy gaze warned people away. Nan Fusheng even saw several boys try to approach her with invitations—only to flee awkwardly after meeting her frosty stare.

The fifteen minutes passed quickly.

Led by Shen Yi and Wu Zhangkong, all 103 first-years of Class One marched in formation out of the classroom, down the hallways of the main teaching building.

At last, they arrived at a spacious circular hall. But strangely, the hall seemed almost too small. For a hundred-plus students, it felt crowded—certainly not big enough for a proper battle.
