Chapter 173 - Chapter 173: Nayou and Mikoto's Birthday

At the entrance of the theme park, surrounded by a maze of roads, Shen Uchiha—the former Konoha troublemaker now turned respected young man—was actually leaning against a wall, fast asleep.

An hour of waiting had completely drained his enthusiasm.

Just as Nayou arrived at the entrance and was about to gently shake him awake, the roar of a car engine made her pull back her hand.

A sharp "Screech!" pierced the air.

Indra barely stopped in front of the theme park entrance, only five meters away from them.

"Hmm?" Awakened by the noise, Shen saw Fugaku gallantly helping Mikoto out of the car, which instantly sparked a wave of irritation inside him. "Oh you foolish older brother of mine, you're actually late!"

Fugaku ignored his stinky younger brother entirely, not even sparing a glance at his resentful glare, and led Mikoto into the theme park on his own.

The two had been holding hands ever since stepping out of the car.

"Cursed real-life winners," Shen muttered under his breath, directing his glare toward the true culprit who made him wait so long he fell asleep.

He smirked slightly, but upon realizing she was still wearing something white—even though it wasn't the same outfit—his internal complaints only multiplied.

"Don't ask why I'm wearing this, and don't even comment on my sense of style," Nayou pouted slightly, immediately guessing his thoughts.

With all his grievances left unspoken, Shen entered the theme park with a gloomy expression.

"Hehe," Nayou smiled meaningfully before following behind him.

On the roller coaster, Fugaku and Mikoto laughed merrily while facing the thousand-meter vertical free fall.

"Waaahhh!!!" both cried at once.

Smiling broadly, both instinctively tightened their grip on each other's hands.

Inside the haunted house, Shen remained expressionless while watching Aya crawl out of the TV set.

In fact, he even helped fix her wig which looked like it might slip off, before leading Nayou to the next location.

"Mwahaha..." cackled the tiny doll, pulling out a small knife and pointing it at the two.

Nayou simply picked up the little doll, wrestled the knife from its hand, then tossed it onto the floor.

Watching from the control room of the haunted house, the Uzumaki clan members were deeply humiliated by what they saw on the monitor.

"Unit 5 and Unit 6, we've got divine guests here today. Show no mercy."

"Understood!"

Two Uzumaki agents received the order and immediately used transformation jutsu, morphing into two massive figures standing four to five meters tall.

"Clomp! Clomp!"

Heavy footsteps echoed around the corner ahead of Shen and Nayou.

"Roar!" As the Tyrannical Brother made his entrance, he flung open his leather coat. Then, his upper body muscles eerily began writhing.

"Spit!" Seconds later, dozens of long tentacles burst through his skin, wildly dancing in the air.

"Boom!!!" A heavy object hit the ground, coming from behind Shen and Nayou.

Both turned around simultaneously. A towering figure descending from above slowly straightened itself upright.

It had an exposed upper body, loose pants, and stitches running all over its body, along with a huge triangular metal helmet on its head, and was wielding a nearly two-meter-long cleaver.

The Tyrannical Brother and Trisan, who had been flanking them, instantly charged toward the two.

"Aha!" Shen yawned and stretched lazily.

"Just this?" Nayou observed everything unfold with an icy stare.

"Eh?" The Tyrannical Brother and Trisan both stopped in their tracks, staring dumbfounded at the two.

In the surveillance room, a large group of Uzumaki clan members were urgently discussing countermeasures.

Two hours later, Fugaku and Mikoto arrived at the theme park's upscale restaurant, clearly still basking in each other's company.

"Happy birthday, Mikoto," Fugaku said, placing his prepared gift on the table.

"Thank you," Mikoto replied with a sweet smile.

They exchanged a glance before picking up their utensils together, chatting and laughing as they enjoyed their lunch.

After slicing his steak into neat two-centimeter cubes, Fugaku reached over and swapped plates with Mikoto, whose portion she had barely touched.

"Thank you, Fugaku."

"You're welcome. It's my duty."

The restaurant had a pleasant ambiance. If only Mikoto were five or six years older, maybe Fugaku, that old beast, would've had other thoughts on his mind.

Meanwhile, Shen—who had shown complete boredom the entire time—and Nayou exited the haunted house.

This level of thrill couldn't stir the slightest interest in either of them.

"Oh right, Nayou, this is your birthday present." Shen casually pulled out an elegantly wrapped black-and-white gift from a necklace bearing the Uchiha clan symbol.

Nayou accepted it and placed it into another necklace she wore, this one bearing the Hyuga clan symbol.

"Thank you," she replied, her delighted expression instantly reverting to her usual demeanor.

Shen didn't see that fleeting look. Noticing it was already noon, he suggested grabbing something to eat before continuing the tour later.

Meanwhile, Fugaku and Mikoto, who had finished lunch long ago and were chatting happily, instantly lost interest when they saw Shen and Nayou entering the restaurant one after the other.

"Well well, my idiot brother, are you planning to take Mikoto to a hotel next?" Seeing the slightly pink atmosphere between them, Shen's mysterious anger flared up again.

He couldn't wrap his head around how, in just three years, Fugaku had changed from a quiet guy into someone with perfect emotional intelligence—bold enough to show affection right in front of him.

"Hmph, jealousy and envy have already clouded your vision," Fugaku replied before getting up, gently taking Mikoto's small hand, and strutting out of the restaurant proudly.

"!!!" Trembling involuntarily, Shen stared at their retreating figures with a feeling of bitterness and unwillingness.

"I have a feeling there's a nephew on the way pretty soon..." Already imagining future scenes of tormenting his future nephew, he cheerfully chose a window-side seat.

Seeing that he clearly had no intention of acknowledging her, Nayou sneered coldly and walked over with a dark expression.

"Hehe."

While ordering, Shen was chilled by that eerie laughter.

When he lifted his head to see Nayou standing over him, staring coldly down, his entire body turned ice cold.

This wasn't just a life-or-death situation anymore—it was a straight-up suicide mission!

"Even if it's a suicide mission, I, Shen Uchiha, will solve this today!" Shen's brain entered high-speed operation mode.

Solution One, the blunt macho man approach – rejected.

Solution Two, the cheerful puppy-boy vibe – rejected.

Solution Three, the domineering CEO style – rejected.

Solution Four, the trickery of a playboy – rejected.

Solution Five, the desperate pleaser – rejected.

Solution Six.

Shen tried out various male protagonist tropes he'd seen in movies and novels from his past life, but judging by what he knew about Nayou, none of them had a one hundred percent chance of success.

"Her interests include sparring with strong opponents using taijutsu; she despises weakness. Her dream is to become the strongest shinobi in Konoha."

"Personality: aloof, cold aura, and possibly... asexual—and might just grow up to be the next Nun Master."

Summarizing Nayou's character, Shen involuntarily shivered. When he returned to reality, he realized less than half a minute had passed.

Enveloped by an unknown mysterious pressure, he raised his eyes to glance at Nayou, who still looked down on him arrogantly.

After several deep breaths, he finally summoned the courage and muttered three words: "I'm sorry."

"Hmph, why are you apologizing?"

Once again faced with a life-or-death question, Shen gave up trying: "Just tell me what it takes to earn your forgiveness. This one's too tough—I can't crack it."

Nayou slowly scanned her eyes from top to bottom across Shen, who sat trembling in his seat.

A few seconds later, the left corner of her mouth slightly lifted, forming a strangely angled smile.

"It's my birthday today. You have to do whatever I say, no ifs or buts."

"Yes…yes!" Trembling with fear from that eerie smile, Shen lowered his proud head—the Uchiha's second young master.

Inside the Hokage Tower office, the Third Hokage, in his forties, was sneakingly hugging a large, round crystal ball that was anything but pure white.

"You have it coming—hahaha!"

The echoing laughter made the Anbu on guard duty realize once again that the Konoha Troublemaker was currently getting put in his place.
