Chapter 3 - Serendipity Unites Hearts

🌟 Serendipity Unites Hearts

One day, after finishing his university classes and leaving the charity organization, Yaman headed to pick up his sister, Lin, from the hospital where she worked—as he often did. He had called her in advance, asking her to wait so they could return home together. When he arrived, Lin was already waiting outside.

Lin was a beautiful young woman in her late twenties, with long, lovely brown hair and a face that made anyone fall in love with her. Gentle in speech and graceful in presence, she had always rejected the idea of settling down or getting into a relationship. Her heart and thoughts were constantly occupied with her brother, Yaman—worried about how he would live alone, knowing he had no one else in his life to lean on.

Yaman was fully aware of her feelings. He had often tried to convince her to think about herself for once, to allow herself the chance to love and be loved. He would tell her, "I'm grown now, I can take care of myself."

But every time, Lin would shut down the topic completely, refusing to even talk about it—something that, in turn, proved just how deep her love and loyalty ran for her brother.

As they were about to leave the hospital, Lin was suddenly called back in to attend to an urgent matter regarding one of her patients. She apologized and hurried away, leaving Yaman sitting and waiting for her return.

While waiting, a young man stepped out of the room next door. He had jet-black hair and dark, intense eyes. Yes—it was Dani. The friend Yaman never thought he'd be lucky enough to have.

Dani's hand was wrapped in white bandages, and he was accompanied by a nurse gently reminding him to be careful using it for a while.

Yaman quickly stood and rushed over to him.

"What happened to your hand? Are you okay? How did this happen?"

Dani chuckled. "Relax, relax. I'm fine. It's just a little bruise—nothing serious for a detective like me."

He added with a sly grin, "To be honest, I thought you might be a criminal. That's why I hesitated to befriend you. But seeing you like this... I realized I was wrong."

Yaman laughed, "What matters now is your condition. Are you sure you're okay?"

Dani replied, "Better than ever! And don't think I forgot—I still expect you at the dinner."

Yaman smiled, "I'll definitely be there."

Dani raised an eyebrow, "So, what brings you here? Are you sick?"

Yaman answered, "No, I'm fine. My sister works here as a doctor. I came to pick her up."

Dani's eyes lit up, "An engineer and a doctor! Your parents must be proud. Do you all live together?"

Before Yaman could reply, a man in a black coat walked in, a weapon holstered at his side.

"Sir, we need to leave now," the man said firmly.

Dani nodded, then turned back to Yaman with a smirk, "We'll meet again. I've come to believe that serendipity unites hearts."

Yaman smiled warmly, "Without a doubt."

With that, Dani left the hospital with the man in black. Yaman waited a little longer until Lin finished her shift, and together they went home.
