Chapter 2 - Chapter 2- Adonai

The man started remembering fragments of which looked like different people , ones which some were humans, others where they were elves, some lives were even from monsters, but he never remembered all of it, just small fragments of them which started making him crazy, making him paranoid and hopeless which made him scream in agony for what seemed like hours.

-Why is this happening to me? In a few seconds I was just- the man paused, astonished as he realised he couldn't remember what he was doing nor who he was, he had even forgotten about everything, his death with a hole in his chest, his brother, the thing he had remembered a few time ago and much more…

After some time trying to figure out who he was and where he was, suddenly he had a moment of clarity, all those fragments of memories of different beings went away and he realised that his name was Kane Mammon, a name given by his father so he could have strength.

Kane was a white man with a black short-hair, with a good appearance that attracted women, he had black eyes and normally was dressed with formal clothes, with prices beyond what a normal family could afford.

-Was I rich? That's the only explanation of always having such expensive clothes.-Kane thought with a thoughtful expression thinking he might be rich. However, he was sent to a war that affected all of the world.

A war where all races, including monsters were battling for their lives, he remembered some familiar faces but never knew exactly who they were, he just knew they were people he appreciated, even with all the betrayal in war.

He also remembered about his brother that he talked about a few minutes before, but he still couldn't figure out a lot of things.

-Did I die? If so, how did I die and when did I die and what is happening? Why can't I see my surroundings and where is that gate?- he started questioning while calming himself.

Suddenly he blacked out again and when he opened his eyes he was once more face to face with that gate in that same dark space, it seemed like it was all exactly like it was before but it had only one small detail that was different from before, the rusty old gate was slightly open…

When he realised the open gate he became cautious of his surroundings, looking at each corner of this dark space, searching for anything that might look suspicious but everything looked the same, which made him even more alarmed.

-Maybe it was open before and I didn't see it or… maybe something strange is happening, even though this is all strange, strange enough that I'm even talking to myself.- After saying that he started chuckling while rubbing his temples thanks to how weird, chilling and intimidating all of this was.

After calming down Kane started walking towards the gate, trying to take a peek of what was inside the gate and when he peeked at what was inside the gate he got even more puzzled than before.

The only thing inside the gate was a completely white room and what seems to be a black silhouette of a man, a man who's completely white with no other colour other than his silhouette and what seemed like long hair.

-Sit down.- said that white figure.- I know you're confused and desperate for answers, I'm someone who can give you that or at least part of it.- the figure said with an unreadable expression.

Kane got in a defensive stance waiting for an attack that never came.

-What are you? Some type of god?- he asked, still in a defensive stance and with fear in his eyes.

-Well you can say that I am a type of god, but not exactly, it's complicated you know?- the "god" said as he giggled due to the stupidity of the question.

-What is this place then and what am I doing here? Also why can't I remember most of my life? Is this what you call the after life? And what do you mean complicated?- he started to let down his guard whereas he started rumbling more and more.

-Calm down. You have time so don't rush everything. I'll respond to your questions if you stay calm. Firstly this place is my domain and dont ask me what a domain is because i wont answer such stupid questions. Next, this is not exactly an afterlife but you are dead so if you want to call it that, be my guest, and obviously this is the reason you're here. You can't remember everything because you recently died but you'll eventually remember these things and clearly I won't respond to that last question because it was immensely idiotic.

Kane's mind started racing and was determined to figure it all out but he couldn't just ask those foolish questions or else that being would get upset and he would do God knows what, so he asked a better question after thinking it through.

-What can I call you?

-Finally, a good question, I am called many things but i guess you can call me Adonai.- Adonai answered with a smile that would scare anyone looking at it.
