Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Battle against Brock

As soon as Onix appeared, its enormous body and that cold gaze full of disdain upon seeing a Pokémon of immense size, suddenly startled Pikachu.

"Pika! Pika!"

Pikachu was seen running back to Ash's side, lifting his clothes and trying to press the button of his other Poké Balls, wanting to switch out to fight with another of Ash's Pokémon!

"Hey, hey!", Ash picked up Pikachu and said annoyed, "Pikachu! Don't decide on your own to switch with Pidgeotto, go fight right now!"

Under Ash's pushing and insistence, Pikachu reluctantly returned to the battlefield.

Using an Electric-type against a Ground-type…

In the stands, Natsui smiled silently. Not understanding the type advantages and disadvantages of Pokémon and fighting recklessly was both a weakness of Ash's and one of his strengths, and it was precisely because of this that he could repeatedly use creative battle methods to defeat many strong enemies.

But at this moment, his experience was still too scarce...

Shaking his head, Natsui took out the Pokédex from his chest and pointed it at Pikachu.

The appearance of Ash's Pikachu was no different from that of common Pikachu.

Its entire fur was a soft golden color, its ears were long, on its cheeks it had two red, round electric pouches, its tail was shaped like a jagged lightning bolt, and a pair of black, bright eyes made it look very adorable.

Pokédex: "Beep, Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon, an Electric-type, also known as the Electric Mouse. It can store electricity in the pouches on its cheeks, and when it gets angry, it releases all the stored electricity at once to launch an electric attack."

Natsui pointed the Pokédex at Onix again.

Onix had a long rock horn on the top of its head, its body was tall and composed of multiple giant gray rocks, with a shape similar to a snake's, which gave it a very imposing and dominant look.

Pokédex: "Beep, Onix, the Rock Snake Pokémon, a Rock- and Ground-type. Its body, formed by the union of giant rocks, resembles a large snake. It can create long tunnels while swallowing earth, moving underground at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour."

With Brock's command, the battle began.

"Onix! Use Tackle!"

On the field, upon hearing the command, Onix's huge body moved, using its gigantic head to forcefully strike Pikachu.

Pikachu jumped from side to side, intimidated by Onix's terrifying momentum, only knowing how to flee everywhere with no intention of counterattacking, and soon Onix took the opportunity to firmly wrap it with its tail.

"Alright, Onix, use Bind!"

Seeing that Pikachu couldn't move under Onix's enormous strength and was struggling in pain, Ash, watching anxiously from the edge of the field, couldn't help but shout, "Pikachu, quick, use Thunderbolt!"

Hearing Ash's words, Pikachu's cheeks sparked with electricity and then emitted a powerful discharge, but even so, upon hitting Onix, it caused no damage at all.

On the other side, Brock crossed his arms and said, "As a trainer, your method is truly ineffective, defeating my Onix with just a Thunderbolt? How naive!"

"Damn it!", Ash clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, but seeing Pikachu suffering more and more and unable to break free, he finally shouted in resignation, "Please stop, I forfeit this match!"

Seeing Brock nod, Onix finally released its tail. Pikachu fell and was picked up by Ash, who ran onto the field to hug him.

"Are you okay, Pikachu?"

Seeing that the battle was over, Natsui slowly came down from the stands, not knowing for a moment how to comfort him.

But with Ash's personality, he would surely recover soon.

Arriving at the trainer's area, Natsui said to Brock, "Well, the appetizer is over, now it's my turn."

Looking at Natsui, Brock recalled Onix and took out another Poké Ball.

"From your appearance, you seem to be completely different from the person before."

"Although he is a bit immature now and lacks some experience," Natsui smiled, "I believe that with enough training, sooner or later he will become an admirable Pokémon Master."

As he hugged Pikachu and went up to the stands, Ash heard these words and turned around sharply; being recognized for the first time by someone made his eyes moisten a little.

This person... really has that much faith in me?

"Come out now, Geodude!", Brock threw his Poké Ball at that moment, a blue light flashed, and a round rock with sturdy arms appeared in front of Natsui.

Pokédex: "Beep, Geodude, the Rock Pokémon, a Rock- and Ground-type. It mainly inhabits mountains and forests, buries half of its body in the ground to observe the movements of mountaineers, and since it looks very much like a rock, people passing by often step on it unintentionally and trip over it."

Natsui turned around, his gaze shifting from Squirtle to Bulbasaur and back, and then said to Bulbasaur, "Bulbasaur, I'm entrusting this battle to you!"

"Saur, saur!"

Whether it was the Water-type Squirtle or the Grass-type Bulbasaur, against a Rock- and Ground-type Pokémon, due to the double advantage, both could cause quadruple damage, so no matter which one he chose, the battle seemed to be quite easy.

In the stands, seeing Ash approach, Misty first stroked Pikachu's forehead and then said to Ash in a teasing tone, "He knows about type advantage, it seems that unlike you, you fool, Natsui understands more about battles, he's a competent trainer."

Surprisingly, Ash didn't refute, but instead watched Natsui's every move intently.

Perhaps Natsui's earlier recognition made Ash give this person a little more importance.

When Bulbasaur and Geodude were in their positions, the match officially began.

"Geodude, use Tackle!"

Natsui shouted, "Bulbasaur, show him our new move, use Razor Leaf!"

Before Geodude could get close, many leaves emitting a green light suddenly appeared around Bulbasaur and flew towards Geodude.

Brock shouted, "Geodude, dodge it quickly!"

However, the speed of Razor Leaf was too fast, and even though Brock gave the order, it still accurately hit Geodude.

It's super effective!

After the dense smoke from the explosion dissipated, Geodude had an expression of pain. Seeing this, Brock ordered, "Geodude, use Rock Throw!"

Geodude was seen raising both hands upwards, and instantly, under the ceiling, several huge rocks appeared out of nowhere and rushed towards Bulbasaur.

The area was too large, Natsui knew that with Bulbasaur's speed it couldn't dodge, so he ordered decisively, "Bulbasaur, aim at those rocks and use Razor Leaf!"

The green light condensed, Razor Leaf shot out again, hitting those rocks, but although it shattered most of them, many broken stones still impacted Bulbasaur.

But even being hit by the rocks, Bulbasaur was seen standing calmly in its place, as if that little bit of pain was not worth mentioning.
