"My name is Natsui, and just as I said, I'm a Trainer."
"Boss Natsui! Please take us in!"
Annoyed by their persistence, Natsui finally gave in with a sigh of resignation.
After all, in his view, it was highly unlikely he would ever return to Fuchsia City. Perhaps it wouldn't be long before these people forgot all about him.
So agreeing now was merely a way to stop them from pestering him further.
"I'm not going to be any kind of boss, but we can get along as friends. If you run into any trouble in the future, you can come find me."
"Boss Natsui is just too kind!" Masa was overjoyed. "But we've decided on you as our boss today! From now on, no matter what happens, we'll follow your lead!!"
Follow my lead?
Natsui shook his head.
If you run into trouble in the future, I'll be thankful enough if you don't sell me out or hold me back!
After a great deal of talking to sort these guys out, Natsui got on a new bicycle. This time, surrounded by Masa and the others, he continued toward Sunny Town.
Along the way, they never stopped talking, swarming around Natsui and enthusiastically telling him many stories from their past.
It was only then that Natsui learned that this so-called "Fuchsia City Biker Gang" was really just a loosely organized group engaged in petty mischief!
Smoking, running red lights, littering, harassing others, illegal assembly, being loud and disruptive, using Pokémon for casual battles...
It didn't sound like they were any kind of serious criminals, and the worst thing they had ever done was just spray-painting graffiti on walls!
In reality, these people were all childhood friends. The reason they formed a biker gang was simply that they had accumulated a lot of stress at school or work. So, at the call of Misa and Masa, they would ride their bikes around in their spare time to vent their stress and dissatisfaction.
Understanding this, Natsui's impression of them changed considerably. No matter what they might become in the future, at least for now, they were just ordinary people trying their best to live happily.
An hour later, amidst cheerful clamor, Natsui finally reached the other end of the bridge.
"Boss, you have to promise not to forget us! Remember to come back and visit when you have time!!"
"Yeah, next time for sure."
After bidding farewell to the bikers who were seeing him off with tears in their eyes, Natsui entered the town's Pokémon Center to rest up before continuing toward Saffron City.
And when he was alone, he called Sabrina and Erika again.
It was just as Looker had said; they hadn't been attacked. But to be on the safe side, Natsui still urged them to be extra careful.
In the sky, white clouds drifted by slowly, and occasionally, bird Pokémon would fly over his head.
While passing through a field, Natsui witnessed a rare sight.
Hundreds of Tauros were running toward the horizon under the setting sun, much like the animal migrations he had once seen on television.
He took a few pictures on the fly and traveled for a long while until the sky grew dark and he arrived at a small place called Ston Town.
The town was located at the foot of a mountain and was originally a resource-based town that flourished due to mining. However, because Evolution Stones were occasionally dug up, people preferred to call it by its other name—Stone Town.
The town wasn't large and had no tall buildings, mostly consisting of two or three-story structures. Natsui wanted to find a place to rest, but after searching for a long time, he couldn't find a Pokémon Center.
Finally, after asking around, he learned that because the town's population was so small, the Pokémon League had not built any facilities there.
With no other choice, Natsui had to settle for the next best thing and found the only inn in town. But when he tried to check in, he received some unexpected news.
"What!? It's full?"
"I'm very sorry." The innkeeper spread his hands. "Just a moment ago, a guest checked into the last room. You were just a few minutes too late."
Seeing Natsui's helpless expression, the innkeeper felt a bit bad. "Hey, guest, you're a Trainer, right?"
Seeing him nod, the innkeeper pointed to a manor not far away.
"There's an evolution party going on in that manor up ahead. The hosts there are extremely hospitable. Not only do they provide free food, but they also often take in Trainers like you. Why don't you go there and try your luck?"
"Alright, I guess that's my only option."
Left with no choice, lest he sleep in the wild, he could only walk towards the manor.
He didn't expect that just as he walked into the courtyard, he and the Gardevoir by his side would attract the attention of the hosts.
Three young men in tight-fitting gymnastic suits walked up to him.
One of them, wearing a tank top and yellow pants with hair shaped like a lightning bolt, smiled and said, "Another Trainer, I see. Are you also here seeking Pokémon evolution?"
"Ah? No," Natsui stated his purpose. "If it's possible, I'd like to stay here for the night. Of course, I can pay a fee."
Waving his hand, another young man with blue hair and blue pants said, "It's no problem. As long as you're a Trainer, you're always welcome, no matter your purpose!"
Just then, Natsui noticed that at their feet, each of them was followed by an evolution of Eevee!
Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon, the three common forms of Eevee, had all appeared before him at once.
Looking at them, Natsui then looked up at the three brothers and recalled the related plot from the anime.
So this is where I've ended up!
He smiled and said, "What a coincidence, I have an Eevee too."
"Oh?" His words immediately piqued the curiosity of the three.
"You have an Eevee too?" the young man in yellow pants asked. "So which evolution path did you choose? Was it Jolteon? Flareon? Or Vaporeon? Or did you keep it in its original form, like my youngest brother?"
However, before Natsui could answer, they began answering for him.
"I bet it must be Jolteon, the strongest one!"
"Nonsense! Obviously, Flareon is the most powerful!"
"Your Flareon can't even beat my Vaporeon, how can you call it the strongest!"
Although the three of them were brothers, when it came to their own Pokémon, none of them would back down. After arguing for a few moments, they all turned their gazes to Natsui.
"You tell us, which type of Eevee is the strongest!?"
"The strongest?" Natsui pondered for a moment, took out a Poké Ball, and released his Pokémon. "Each Eevee has its own unique characteristics, so there's really no such thing as stronger or weaker. Besides them, there are other evolutions like Umbreon and Leafeon. But if you really want me to say, compared to yours, my Jolteon is the strongest! Haha!"
