Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

I adjusted the in-game time to midnight.

The screen showed my character—me—sleeping peacefully in his room. But no matter how many times I scanned the area, I couldn't detect any cat. The room wasn't that big. I searched every corner, under the bed, behind the closet, even zoomed into the shelves.

Still nothing.

No Mimi.

My frustration was boiling. I'm a professional gamer, for god's sake—I don't quit over a missing cat. So, I waited. I left the game running until morning in-game. It took me nearly four hours.

Nothing changed.

No clues. No cat.

Just when I was about to Alt+F4 out of spite, something popped up on the screen:

"If you don't solve this quest in 24 hours, GAME OVER."

The words were bold.In red.

I stared at the screen, completely dumbfounded.

What in the world is wrong with this game??!!

I was tired.

Exhausted.

I shut down my PC.

Collapsing into bed, the unsolved quest still echoed in my thoughts. Maybe I should just message Maya. Ask her how to finish this dumb mission.

How embarrassing.

I closed my eyes, willing myself to sleep.
