Under the cover of the "meteor rain," and after paying a heavy price, the surviving forces finally escaped the island.
Not until their ships had sailed several kilometers away did they dare to breathe.
Every face was weary, heads hung low in shame. Many soldiers groaned in pain, some so gravely wounded that the moment they relaxed aboard the ships… they drew their last breath.
The once-grand fleet was now reduced to a dozen battered warships.
On the island, Good made no move to chase. He stared at the retreating ships and roared with laughter, the sound shaking the heavens.
"World Government! Today I let you live like dogs. You'll cling to life in despair and fear. But soon — I will march to Mary Geoise, and bury you all there. The Gorosei, the Celestial Dragons… all of you will die!!"
It was nothing less than a declaration of war.
The remaining three Gorosei looked grim, but faint smiles crept onto their lips.
Let him come to Mary Geoise. There, Lord Imu — who had lived for eight hundred years — awaited. The outcome would not be so easily decided.
Still, the world trembled. This era would not return to peace. A greater storm was coming, one to engulf the entire world.
The battlefield was devastated, pocked with craters from the fallen meteors.
Amidst the ruins, the pirates moved to finish matters.
Many CP agents and navy soldiers had been captured.
Whitebeard, Shanks, and Dragon all left the decision to Good.
For the CP agents, Good gave no mercy. He ordered their complete extermination. Such people could never be trusted.
As for the navy soldiers — Good still felt a sense of belonging to them. They had only fought under orders.
Momousagi and Tokikake also hesitated, for many were once their comrades. But neither spoke to plead for mercy. They would abide by Good's judgment.
Whitebeard then stepped forward.
"Good! You've declared war on the World Government. Then it's time to build your own force — your own alliance."
Dragon nodded.
"Exactly. When the World Government falls, someone must uphold order. Otherwise the world will collapse into chaos. Your actions are already a revolution. What comes next is governance."
Good scratched his head, looking troubled for the first time.
"So troublesome?"
Dragon sighed deeply.
"You need not worry about the details. Just give us a name. We'll rally under you, and handle the rest."
Good grinned. That was all he needed to hear.
And so, under Momousagi's proposal, the Justice League was founded.
Good, Dragon, Whitebeard, and Shanks became its Four Executive Leaders.
Momousagi, Tokikake, Ben Beckman, Marco, Sabo, and Rayleigh served as Chief Advisors, forming a council with voting power. The leaders each held veto rights.
Of course, everyone quietly agreed — Good's veto power stood above all.
The Whitebeard Pirates, Red-Hair Pirates, and the Revolutionary Army were now one unified force: the Justice League.
The CP captives were executed.
The navy soldiers were given a choice: join, or be imprisoned until the fall of the World Government. Most, inspired by Good, chose to join. But before acceptance, Good used his fused Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) to read their minds and root out traitors.
Spies from the CP, the Beasts Pirates, and Big Mom Pirates were discovered and eliminated.
With the prisoners dealt with, attention turned to the captured Emperor-level fighters.
Teach, Fujitora, Bullet, and Shiki.
Good handed Teach's fate to Whitebeard.
The Whitebeard Pirates needed no debate. To them, this traitor deserved only death.
Teach fell to his knees, begging desperately.
"Pops! I was once your son! Good! Don't kill me! My Dark-Dark Fruit can seize other Devil Fruits — I can help your new alliance!!"
But Whitebeard's blade swung mercilessly.
Teach's head rolled.
"Thatch, your death is avenged. Rest in peace," Whitebeard said heavily. Behind him, Marco, Jozu, and the rest mourned.
"Rest easy, Thatch. We'll save Ace next."
