In the forest, Zhang Jie limped forward, holding a triangular metal object in his hands, following Daniels and Yujin.
Seeing the change on his watch, Yujin sighed, "Finally, a reduction in numbers?"
"Ah!? Yan Huiqian?!" Zhang Jie exclaimed, "Did the Devil Team find our hidden Covenant number in the underground currents?"
"No." Yujin pulled out what he knew about Meng Yao. "This woman is sly. She never puts all her eggs in one basket. Yan Huiqian's death probably has another reason."
"Otherwise, it wouldn't just be a single message."
"Although I don't understand what you two are talking about," the female lead, Daniels, said with a gloomy expression, "I just have this feeling… we're going to die."
"Don't be discouraged. I'm about to give it my all!" Yujin patted Daniels on the back. "You're a warrior goddess. How could you fall now?"
"I'm glad you call me that, but I haven't been much help."
"No, you're our hope to survive. Please, make sure you use this properly." Yujin glanced back at the triangular metal object in Zhang Jie's hand.
"I can only activate it roughly. It's uncontrollable!"
"I'll make sure it doesn't harm your life, I promise."
"Alright… alright, then."
"Then! What is that!?"
Zhang Jie shouted, interrupting Yujin's reassurance. When he looked up, his heart froze.
Above the forest, a massive sword streaked across the sky, carrying a human figure at incredible speed.
The blade radiated a cold, sharp light, and the figure on the sword appeared exceptionally proud under the sunlight.
"Quick, hide!" Yujin whispered urgently. He reacted instantly, pulling Daniels and Zhang Jie down. The three of them ducked behind the nearest tree.
The man riding the sword was clearly purposeful in his approach, his target aimed directly at the engineer ruins they had just left.
"Who is that?" Daniels's voice trembled slightly. She had never seen such a supernatural scene.
"I can't tell you, or I'll lose reward points," Yujin whispered, his eyes locked on the man on the sword, quickly calculating a plan.
"Flying swords…?" Zhang Jie swallowed hard. "The Devil Team's power…"
He immediately covered his mouth.
Speaking about this next to the female lead, Daniels, would cost him minus ten reward points.
"Flying with a sword requires reaching the Golden Core stage."
Thinking of this, a gleam of excitement appeared on Yujin's face.
"A Golden Core stage member in the Devil Team! Hahaha!"
Zhang Jie froze. "Y-you've gone mad?"
"The Golden Core stage!" Yujin patted Zhang Jie on the back. "No matter how cunning that bitch Meng Yao is, can she even deal with someone at the Golden Core stage? She's doomed!"
"That may be true," Zhang Jie said, clenching the triangular metal in his hands. "But doesn't that mean we're all destined to be slaughtered?"
"Mm~ you just try to survive, as for me…"
"As long as I'm sure Meng Yao gets obliterated by a Golden Core cultivator, I'll die without regret!"
Zhang Jie twitched at the corner of his mouth but nodded.
He thought to himself, just don't offend Yujin.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the sky…
The Plunderer's speed slowly decreased.
Dio Brooke, a psychic controller, crossed his hands over his chest, eyes locked on the ground below.
"Clever. Their hiding place is right beneath Arno's battlefield."
"The shock of the fight would seriously interfere with my psychic scan." He lifted his golden-rimmed glasses slightly. "But you'd never guess someone could enhance a psychic scan to B-level, right?"
At the thought, the ship's autopilot system activated. The vessel gradually descended, landing steadily on the forest floor.
The trees swayed lightly, and the Raider's metal hull reflected the sunlight with a cold, sharp glint.
Dio Brooke's psychic scan reached its peak.
His psychic power spread like an invisible net, covering a vast area and catching even the faintest life signals.
His target was clear. Soon, he locked onto the hidden river entrance not far from Arno and Da Qiang's battlefield.
He leaped from the ship, his figure darting swiftly through the forest.
Before long, he saw the massive ship hidden in the valley.
It lay there silently, enormous in size and oddly shaped—the very origin of the movie's name: the Covenant.
The Covenant blocked the middle of the underground current. Behind it were several faint life signals.
As Dio Brooke prepared to approach, his brow furrowed.
Through his psychic scan, he suddenly sensed multiple powerful life forms.
These lifeforms emitted an unusually strong energy fluctuation, completely different from humans.
"Xenomorphs?" Dio Brook felt a flicker of caution in his mind.
Through his psychic scan, he could "see" these Xenomorphs moving rapidly within the Covenant Ship.
This also seemed to confirm that there were no living humans left inside the ship.
If he wanted to pursue the remaining members of the Breeding team, he would have to find a way past this obstacle.
"Smart move, using the Xenomorphs to intercept and drive the newcomers to a safe zone."
"If I want to claim the kill rewards for the newcomers, I'll have to deal with this massive number of Xenomorphs."
Dio Brook thought for a moment. "Without the Xenomorph Queen to manipulate them mentally, handling so many Xenomorphs alone will be difficult."
"I need to call the captain to collect the reward points!"
Not far from here, the battle between Daqiang and Arno had reached its climax.
As the fight continued, Daqiang began to feel overwhelmed.
Every strike from Arno hit like a sledgehammer, pushing Daqiang's defenses to their limits.
Suddenly, Arno unleashed an even greater force. His muscles bulged more than before, and each blow cut through the air with a sharp roar.
"Do you feel it? This is the power of a second-tier gene lock!" Arno taunted, his eyes radiating absolute confidence in his strength.
"You breeders who only exchange reward points for high-tier abilities will never understand the true meaning of life."
Daqiang's breathing grew rapid, his body covered in wounds, yet his words were merciless.
He spat violently, cursing, "You should be thankful you're a foreigner! If your true body appeared in the Breeding team, I would gouge out your eyes and snap your neck!"
Da Qiang's body suddenly erupted with a powerful aura. His Ugur ability had been pushed to its limit in the face of desperation.
His speed and strength soared to a new level. Every strike became sharper, deadlier, and more precise.
He began taking the initiative, attempting to break Arno's defenses.
Arno sneered coldly. With the support of his second-stage gene lock, his body had already surpassed the limits of ordinary humans.
He effortlessly blocked Da Qiang's attacks while striking back even more fiercely.
"Your strength is nothing but a child's play in front of me," he said.
Just as Da Qiang prepared to charge again, his ears twitched. It was as if he had suddenly realized something.
With a sudden burst of energy, he lunged forward. Despite taking five heavy punches, he gritted his teeth and clutched Arno tightly.
Arno's pupils constricted. With the calculations of his second-stage gene lock, his mind had reached its peak, yet he could not understand why his opponent was doing this.
Wrestling?
Wouldn't that rapidly drain his energy?
"Quick! I've got him!"
Da Qiang shouted suddenly, making Arno realize he had to break free immediately, or he would be in danger.
But Da Qiang seemed unstoppable, hugging him fiercely and refusing to let go.
Bang. Bang.
Bang. Bang.
Arno could feel his heartbeat racing. The danger triggered by the gene lock made every hair on his body stand on end.
He summoned all his strength and forcefully broke free from Da Qiang's embrace.
Hurriedly, he glanced around, trying to figure out the reason behind Da Qiang's actions.
The next second…
Sharp, blade-like weapons began slicing through Arno's body.
At first, he used his arms to block them, but gradually, he froze, unable to move.
The flashes of the blades ceased. Meng Yao, wearing high heels, finally stopped.
"Thud."
A piece of shredded flesh fell.
Soon, countless tiny pieces of chopped flesh rained onto the ground.
Arno's face was unrecognizable, leaving only the remaining bones.
His internal organs spilled out through the gaps in his abdomen.
He was dead—truly beyond saving.
Mengyao pressed her high heel onto Arno's head, a look of disdain flashing in her eyes.
"They're used to acting arrogantly, yet they still dare to fight me separately. Aside from the one stepping on the sword, who else can I not kill?"
Daqiang didn't respond, only lowering his head slightly.
He had no doubt that if he hadn't dodged quickly enough just now, he would have been caught in that storm of attacks.
