"It's a pleasure to meet you two as well, 'War munger' Sayuri Yamaguchi and of course the legendary 'Crack Head' Donna Yamaguchi."
"That's all behind me now youngin. Knowing what you know about us, where does your confidence come from to stand before us?" Said Ren and Sayuri's mother. She gave a quick glance to her daughters. 20% down.
"Not even going to ask me why we attempted to kidnapp your granddaughter?"
The women scowled. "Ugh! It's obviously him since he has motive." Ren rolled her eyes but glanced to her mother and sister in secret. 31% down.
"Ugh, Shimamura that dumb fucker hired you less than two weeks after the altercation we had on his construction site." Sayuri sighed exasperatedly. What? You used up that much while I'm only down 26%. Sayuri also shared their glances.
Donna face palmed. "Ugh, he could have at least set up another altercation with someone else as a decoy."
"I told him the exact same thing." He massage his temple. They stared at each other.
Ren grinned. "So our guess was right. The Eschaton Temple are a coalition of Truth Seekers."
"And the Yakuzas of the East are also Truth Seekers of at least level two." He said earning Ren's glare. "Zephyr maneuver." A gentle breeze fluttered his clothes.
She was before him. "You think we're on the same level as your third rate henchmen? Plate smash." She swung. He fluttered away. Her bat hit the asphalt. A shockwave ripped through the ground and progressed before her like a cone. She swung to her right. "You and us aren't on the same level either." He leaped back. "As a homosapien with forbidden knowledge like The Truth of the World, the backlash is killing you." She changed stance and tossed. He clasped hands. The two circles merged. Steam exploded. He was knocked to the ground. The bat is deflected. It boomeranged back to Ren.
By combining ice and fire magic, he made steam to make the air expand and knock my bat off course.
"I see you have wind magic in your boots and ice and fire in your palm." Donna was behind him. He leaped. "That was pretty snazzy of you icy hot." She thrusts her cane. An aura spike flew.
He clasped his hands. Steam exploded. The spike deflected then faded. "Why thank you. I thought you'd attack me after your second daughter?"
"That'd be too cliche. And she's too slow."
Sayuri was upon him. "Cause I wanna take my time killing this motherfucker!" Aura shrouded her pipe. She swung.
He crossed his arms. "Snow Igloo." Ice formed a circular wall before his arms. She drove the swing. The wall smashed. He was knocked away and tumbled across the asphalt oddly he made no attempts to stop himself and kept fiddling with his right and left hand.
Donna was in his path. She smiled. "Seems your assumption was correct. Let this old woman rewards you by claiming your head." She grinned maliciously. Her fingers clenched and hand high.
"Flame Stream." He blasted the asphalt. With a swipe of his right hand, the tar washed towards her as the force knocked him away.
She slammed her hand into the ground. "Let me show you why they called me Crack Head Donna!" The ground cracked and the tar was sent off course. I'm up to 31% now thanks to that move. I'm not as young as I use to be.
Sayuri blinked. "I thought it was because you're a former drug addict."
Donna leaps over to her. "Everyday I wonder how I could have birth such an uncouth brute!" She swung furiously.
"Woah easy old bat, wouldn't want you to get high blood pressure and not see ya great-grandkids." She ran. Her mother chased.
"What blood pressure?! If raising you all these years hasn't given me stroke, then not even old age can take me!"
"Nice distraction but I've already spotted the Mad Head charging her aura." He aimed his left. "Snow Thorns." The area is engulfed by a protrusion of jagged icicles on a path. No reaction? He glanced at Donna and Sayuri. They smirked. It's a trap! In the ice was her bat flickering with aura to mock her presence.
"I have to thank Nagisa for this move!" Ren was beside him. She punched. His feet off the ground, he aimed his left. His attack pushed her as well as himself back. He crashed into a wall. Ren stepped forward. The ice encasement shattered. Fog came from her breath while patches of frost slowly evaporated from her skin. Her eyes quickly glancing around. That attack pushed me all the way back here and froze everything in its path while spreading out from its point of origin. So this is Tier 3 magic. So much destruction! She grinned flexing her right hand. If I hadn't increased my aura at the last second my body would've been frozen inside out instead of a little frostbite but now I'm up to 46%.
Frank coughed then winced. His mouth rich with a raw taste. He spat and wiped his lips as he held his side and groaned. Six ribs broken if not shattered from a single punch that I blocked with a counter attack that could level a building. If I hadn't attacked then... Images of his body splattered ran through his mind. She really is a monster.
"My patience is wearing out old man." Ren and the others stalked up to him each being weary of the man that freeze over three buildings with no charge up or warning. Ren's hand filled with aura. Her bat vibrated in the ice attack from earlier. It shattered and the bat flew into her hand. "I know you have something up your sleeve. Show me." She swung.
"Zephyr Maneuver." He evaded. "Frost Hand." He touched his chest freezing it over gritting his teeth as he escaped. Donna reached for his head from above. "Burn Ball." He dodged countering with the fireball that's dispersed by her hand. She thrusts her cane. He fired another fireball. The attacks collide and dispersed. He shifted right, going down an alleyway. "Snow Thorns." The ground froze where he slid while icicles protruded in his wake.
Sayuri was in pursuit. "What rhymes with two?" On the end of her pipe was a wrecking ball. "Murder you!" She swung. The ice is shattered by the impact and shockwave.
He glided to the roof. Ren was falling from the sky. Clenching her knuckles, aura swirls into a ball in her hand pulling the air in. "Void Red Pitcher!" She tossed. He evaded. It hit the ground with explosive force and knocked him forward. He's pulled back to the point of the impact. His back slammed against the crater.
He coughed blood. The wind knocked out of him. He gasped but nothing came. The attack created a sudden burst of air strong enough to create a temporary vacuum in the vicinity.
"Told you to stop holding back on me." Ren was lept down to deliver the final blow.
Frank chuckled then touched his ear piece. "Of course, I shouldn't have expected any less from the Yamaguchi Clan. Commence weapon trial." The sky changed colour. The aura on Ren's bat and hands faded. She dug it into the wall and came to a halt.
She leapt away landing a few feet in front of him. A flicker of aura in her hand. It faded. "So that's it. In the first place how'd Shimamura get in contact with your organisation? Why'd you take such a ludacris job where the risk isn't worth the payout? You took this job because you already set your sights on us and then an opportunity to easily get inside information about our day to day fell into your lap. You never cared about doing Shimamura's job, that was just a front. You came here for us. To test us. Test out your weapon on us."
"You really are fellow seekers. This is the trial run of our greatest weapon. Root Resonator. It uses sound wave to incapacitate the magic root of those under it. This is not anything new but what we've achieved," He sipped a potion then melted the ice from his chest. "Is different. The traditional dampeners only work on one race or type of magic at a time. Ours can work on three simultaneously. We've even innovated the technology as far as dampening draconic magic." He stood. "Who better to test this on than the descendants of the miraculously indomitable clan that rocked Europe before being pushed into decline. Or perhaps I should say near extinction since you are a rare breed of humans."
"What do you know about our lineage?" Said Danna. I'll keep him talking so we can recover and even back the playing field, because whatever he drank obviously recovered his injuries.
"More than you apparently. To protect your clan, you took them into seclusion and hid yourself from the world, the magic world that is. Only to make your clan the proverbial frogs in the well. Though I might be wrong as I'm not informed of the intricate details of your clan after you took over from its founder Edith Yamaguchi, but the origin of your bloodline is tied to history itself."
"Cut the crappy teasing. You're seeking something from us that you have reason to believe we have. What do you want?" Said Sayuri.
"Straight to the point. Throughout the history of your ancestors, a few of them, that we presume to be certain clan leaders, have displayed the ability to control the flow of magic."
"That covers what you're seeking from us but you've just hit a dead end."
"I can vouch for all of us here, none of us have such an ability that we know of. Not even Ren who's the strongest Yamaguchi can accomplish such a feet." Said Danna.
He smirked. "All of you have probably heard of this ability from the battle of the second head of your Clan." The women's jaws dropped earning a grin from Frank. "Yes that's right. The woman who faced the blinding wrath of the Angels with just her indomitable presence. The woman who redirected a blast from an ArchAngel. The one responsible for the great cline and decline of the Yamaguchi Clan, the giver and taker. Jillian the Traitorous Yamaguchi." The women grit their teeth upon hearing the name. The vains on their faces made him grin with elation and as he grinned his shadow smiled malevolently.
"Thats it huh... The ability to control the flow of magic. You mentioned dragon magic before. Dragons probably have a similar ability to the magic deflection. Of course unfathomably stronger. That's why you want to use us as guinea pigs." Ren's head hang low clutching her bat.
"It could also be that...you have dragon's blo-"
"Don't fuck with me. Though we don't know our exact origins, don't try to sell us some bullshit about being descendants of dragons. Even we who don't know much about the magic world, know that Dragons are indomitable creatures that lord over magic. Their former presences in an area is enough to disturb the natural order long after they've gone. And you want me to believe we have that blood running through our veins? That's like calling and telling me that I've won the lotto when I've never bought a lotto ticket in my life. Have some honor will ya? Trying to scam a loan shark?"
Sayuri crossed her arms. "And even if that were true, we'd have magic inside us and not inherently aura. A bloodline as strong as that would be bound to manifest itself no matter how it's diluted with inferior genes."
"You make a good point."
"So what are you trying to do? Capture the Eschaton Temple a dragon?" Ren said.
"My ambitions are even greater but that, is the least of your concerns." He leapt above. His hand aimed down. "Breeze Surge. Flame Stream. Breeze Surge." He smirked locking his right hand between his feet. "Combo spell - Blaze Blast Gust."
Ren had only one thought seeing the three circles combine and ignite. Ah fuck.
