It all started in the year 2030 something had entered earth, the air felt richer, mortality rate dropped, the average strength of people almost doubled, food was plentiful, farm crops rarely got spoilt.
many fiction fans said it was mana, but this unidentified substance was termed Esp by the higher ups, coined from the French word of hope, when the earth was facing serious evolution backlash from the inventions of human, this ESP came, providing hope.
In the year 2032,the first Germin was born, a boy in Poland who could start fire at will with just his thought, he was taken away by the Government but after him, many more started to appear, then any individual with special powers were termed Germins, making them realise that it was an effect of the Esp.
During this time, the earth went through a rebirth, it started expanding in size, tectonic plates shifted, volcanoes erupted, tsunamis occurred, earthquakes and hurricanes, it was chaos
They believed that Esp had something to do with this changed and in the year 2037 they created the first Esp identify Gadget.
In the year 2040, these adjustment stopped, the water to land ratio was 50:50, and that was when it began, war to claim land, during the rebirth, continents where divided and the sea retreated giving birth to barren land, at the end, the total continents came up to 12,countries where changed to regions, states to sub regions and cities remained.
After the small wars and seizing of land, scientist were able to track a high density of Esp in a particular newly spawned land near New York. People where moved from the surrounding area and they kept close watch on it for a few years , in the year 2050,a portal formed.
Creatures like never seen before emerged from it, wrecking chaos, for a year humanity fought desperately, the smaller creatures were easily killed but the bigger ones had exoskeleton hard as rocks and technology could barely harm them.
Then the germims came up, with their unique powers, they were able to drastically reduce the casualties, but alas, they kept coming out, the creatures that came out of the portal eventually moved to the newly formed lands as they contained higher Esp and at the end of the year 2051, the monster situation was under control.
Then the Germins got greedy, with new germims being born everyday, power got into their head, they began thirsting for more. Another group of Germins rose up, the ones that believed in using their power to protect, and being more than the depraved ones, they were able to easily subdue them.
With the increasing rate of Germins, academies were made to nurture these talents because even after the first portal closed, more still spawned but we're smaller and people could go inside to kill the monsters before they broke out and killed normal civilians, these smaller portals were called death zones.
It was realised that each Germin was born with a unique technique but could also learn other techniques, techniques were found in these death zones and in some monster inhabited lands or waters.
The academies were wide spread and in every region, they took in individuals at the age of 15 to nurture them in becoming Awakeners, certified Germins with total control over their powers and fighting knowledge.
Cole and Kevin were on their way to the academy when they had encountered that thief, now they had missed the entrance exams.
Matthew strode across the passage way to the next room, Cole's room, where Cole waited.
