Chapter 252: Ghost Batman Requests to Join the Fray!
The Hellbat forcefully burst into the Main Universe. The waves of energy emanating from this armor made the entire Main Universe tremble.
Ghost followed closely behind New 52 Batman, rushing into the Main Universe.
According to the plan, they would head straight for Earth, avoiding any prolonged battles, with the sole purpose of extraction.
"The situation isn't good," New 52 Batman suddenly said.
Ghost frowned. "The battle hasn't even started, and your body can no longer withstand the power of this armor? Or is your brain unable to handle the massive amount of information it's generating?"
Donning and skillfully using the Hellbat Armor was not something just anyone could do. At the very least, the user needed a powerful brain, capable of analysis, processing, categorization, and rapid computation to produce results that would translate into the Hellbat Armor's actions.
After much consideration, Ghost felt that no one was more suitable than Batman. A guy like Lex Luthor, despite possessing a top-tier intellect, was corrupt and definitely wouldn't work. It was likely that before they could even strike at Du Wa, the Hellbat Armor would be lost.
At this critical juncture, with Main Universe Batman trapped in the Main Universe and in danger of becoming Du Wa's puppet at any moment, only the Batman from the New 52 Universe could step up and take the lead.
"I'm not saying my physical condition is bad. I'm saying the situation in the Main Universe is bad. It's too quiet here. I refuse to believe they don't know I've arrived." New 52 Batman's voice was still low and hoarse, but he piloted the Hellbat Armor towards Earth without any hesitation.
Along the way, the hearts of Batman and Ghost were incredibly heavy. Even in space, they saw many powerful Xenomorphs roaming about.
The Xenomorphs had grown stronger. The species was rapidly expanding its numbers and ranks. As long as the billions of life forms in the Multiverse could carry on with normal reproduction, it meant an endless supply of hosts for the Xenomorphs.
Right now, it was only the Main Universe. Before long, the entire Multiverse would be remade in the image of the Xenomorphs.
"No matter how terrible the situation gets, we have no room to retreat. I will never allow the Multiverse to become a breeding ground for a single Deity like Du Wa! This world should not be like this!" Ghost growled.
Batman said no more. A breeding ground? The term was fitting. It seemed to trigger a greater cognitive alarm than words like "evil." But then again, if Du Wa treated the Multiverse as a breeding ground, what did some of the other Deities treat it as?
A being like Ghost, born to uphold vengeance and retribution, was a rare exception among the Deities.
The Hellbat smoothly penetrated Earth's perimeter. His speed shattered the boundaries of time, and he appeared in the Hall of Justice.
But there was no Justice League here, only Quantum Batman.
"I meticulously crafted these blue holographic images for the sole purpose of luring you here. What do you think?" Quantum Batman said, looking at New 52 Batman.
New 52 Batman cautiously watched the dissipating images. "I know of you. Many on the side of the Dark Multiverse talk about you. You were clearly a righteous Batman, and you possess this level of power, yet you defected to Du Wa. With your strength, you should be able to break free from Du Wa's control."
"Those who have never truly become a Xenomorph always think that abandoning the Xenomorph identity is a simple matter. Even if you tried to strip the Xenomorph from my body, you couldn't do it," Quantum Batman said indifferently.
"We have to try," New 52 Batman insisted. He desperately wanted to win this guy over. If he succeeded, Du Wa's overall power would plummet by half, and their side would gain an extremely powerful Deity capable of opposing Du Wa.
Unfortunately, he was mistaken. Quantum Batman was a being of extremely detached emotion. Things like joy, anger, and sorrow had a negligible influence on his cognition; he would not be provoked by such simple words.
Quantum Batman extended a finger and pointed. A terrifying blue wave, like a ripple on the surface of water, spread rapidly through the Universe, washing directly over New 52 Batman.
The exchange between them was incredibly swift. The information they shared in an instant surpassed anything an ordinary person could imagine. When the time came to act, they were equally swift and ferocious.
A blood-red glow suddenly erupted from the Hellbat Armor as the power from the other heroes of the New 52 Justice League was unleashed all at once.
But this power posed no threat whatsoever to Quantum Batman.
The overall strength of the New 52 Justice League was simply too weak. Even with the guidance of special beings like Ghost and the Phantom Stranger, it was completely insignificant before Quantum Batman. The energy they had charged up multiple times, when unleashed by Batman all at once, did nothing more than stir a faint breeze before dissipating without a trace.
Within Earth's atmosphere, it failed to create any significant disturbance before being erased by Quantum Batman.
But the Hellbat Armor's power output was far greater than this.
"Out of my way! I don't have time to waste on you!" New 52 Batman tried to bypass Quantum Batman, but he was blocked every single time.
Within a single second, the afterimages left by their high-speed movements covered the entire sky.
"Unleash this armor's true power," Quantum Batman said. "I can feel it. You've added a completely different kind of weapon to this thing."
New 52 Batman was incredibly anxious, and he did just that. He had no time to get entangled with Quantum Batman.
"You've already wasted a full two seconds." Ghost's figure appeared once again, saying in a low voice, "Unleash this armor's true power. I'm not sure what you've done, but hurry up and use it."
If Ghost still possessed Multiversal-level combat power, He would have intercepted Quantum Batman long ago. But He didn't, so He could only hope that New 52 Batman, as the Batman second only to Main Universe Batman, could deliver a performance worthy of his reputation.
"Perhaps my expectations of you were too high. After all, unlike the other Batmen, you haven't been baptized by countless disasters. Your current experience is still insufficient..." Ghost said, extremely worried, but before he could finish his sentence...
BOOM!
A powerful divine energy, potent enough to shake the Main Universe, erupted from the Hellbat Armor, causing countless planets to tremble.
Divine power of this magnitude was actually coming from a high-tech suit of armor?!
Many beings, including Ghost, were utterly astonished, their faces showing complete disbelief.
How could the mortal body of a man who relied on technology obtain such immense divine power? And what was the source of energy capable of unleashing it?
"This power... you actually... When did this happen?" Even Ghost was visibly moved. He was very familiar with this power and was even more astounded that its original owner would condone such an act.
Of course, what was even more unexpected was that New 52 Batman had silently obtained this power and used it for the empowerment of the Hellbat Armor.
At this moment, the Hellbat was practically a New God. A blood-red light enveloped him, like a collapsing red giant star, yet it crashed forward, carrying the power of untold numbers of universes.
"Interesting. This is the first time I've seen a version of myself like this... For this armor to even exist, so many humans and gods must have poured their heart and soul into it." Quantum Batman raised his head slightly, letting out a sigh of admiration. His figure moved, a blue quantum field spreading out as he met the Hellbat Armor head-on.
But New 52 Batman clearly had no intention of getting overly entangled with Quantum Batman. This time, displaying his immense power, he swiftly bypassed Quantum Batman and began a global scan for the whereabouts of the Justice League.
But... he found nothing.
Why was there nothing?
New 52 Batman was bewildered and extremely anxious. How could there be nothing?!
"Stop looking. Before you even entered the Main Universe, Du Wa had already perceived your movements... I'd guess that as early as when you successfully created this armor, Du Wa already knew you existed."
A towering figure shattered space and appeared before New 52 Batman.
Thanoseid had been quiet for some time. The recent great battles had been on a Multiversal scale, and although Thanoseid's strength was at the peak of the single universe level, it was still insignificant before a being of Multiversal standing.
But now, he had appeared, because he had discovered an opportunity to advance further.
"Thanoseid..." New 52 Batman's heart grew heavy. "That's right. If it was you, it would have been impossible to hide it. If you found out, it means Du Wa did too."
"Then tell me, how did the Darkseid of the Main Universe give His divine authority to you? Ever since that guy disappeared, I've been searching for Him with no success. I even suspected He had fled to the Sphere of Gods."
With his hands behind his back, Thanoseid revealed a savage grin that had not been seen for a long time.
It had been too long, far too long. Ever since his rebellion was effortlessly suppressed by Du Wa, he hadn't felt true joy. This was a rare occasion that made him happy.
The Main Universe Darkseid he had been so desperately searching for had finally revealed a trace of his existence—his divine authority had appeared on a suit of armor!
"This was a meticulously planned creative idea, but once exposed and the element of surprise is lost, it becomes meaningless." Quantum Batman caught up, his blue figure flickering as he spoke with indifference.
Fearing Quantum Batman would compete with him for the divine authority, Thanoseid attacked decisively, smashing a fist into the Hellbat Armor and sending the omnipresent, blood-red energy barrier flying in all directions.
Any random glob of that energy possessed enough immense pressure to melt through space, but Thanoseid shattered them all.
"Come, let me see what the Main Universe Darkseid, teamed up with you from the New 52 Universe, can do. Perhaps you have some other rats and ants helping you? Let me see what kind of masterpiece you small fry have cobbled together!" A rare, savage, and maniacal laugh spread across Thanoseid's face. He was once again beginning to savor the wonderful feeling of battle.
This time, New 52 Batman no longer had any reason to hold back. He immediately raised his head, and blood-red beams shot out from his mechanical helmet.
"Omega Beams? Very good. Your performance has exceeded my expectations, as has Darkseid's generosity." Thanoseid was somewhat surprised, and he fired his own Omega Beams in response.
The four slender beams danced wildly through the air, refracting out of thin air again and again. Wherever they passed, they easily pierced the very fabric of the Rules, completely ignoring all forms of space-time dimensions and physical laws. They engaged in a fierce chase, finally colliding after tracing innumerable, densely packed trajectories.
Earth began to tremble violently, and world-shaking fluctuations erupted throughout the Main Universe.
Quantum Batman extended a finger and pointed, instantly calming all the disturbances. His pupil-less eyes reflected the figures of the Hellbat Armor and Thanoseid.
The two fought fiercely, with the Hellbat Armor even gaining a clear upper hand. After calculating Thanoseid's attack patterns and undergoing hundreds of millions of computations, it took only moments to devise a strategy for maximum counter-attack under the limited conditions, and it quickly began to suppress Thanoseid.
This was a scene that would shock even the Deities. Batman, a mere mortal, controlling a cobbled-together suit of armor, could actually possess power of this level?
Even a powerful Deity like Thanoseid was no match for him!
New 52 Batman had successfully alarmed countless ancient beings. He had succeeded in this; even Main Universe Batman would have found it difficult to put on such a spectacular performance. But he had also, unequivocally, failed.
"I failed..."
New 52 Batman watched as more and more powerful Xenomorphs appeared in the surroundings—although "surroundings" actually encompassed a radius of several thousand kilometers, a distance that powerful Xenomorphs could cross in an instant.
His astonishing tactical performance could not hide his disastrous strategic failure. He had unleashed all his power, yet from the very beginning, he had failed to achieve his primary goal.
"I can't find Main Universe Superman or Batman! Du Wa must have hidden them, that villain!!" New 52 Batman was furious, and he took it out on Thanoseid, pummeling him repeatedly.
But this state of affairs would not last long. New 52 Batman was already using his own life force to sustain the Hellbat Armor. He was aging rapidly and would soon be dead.
This unconventional battle had, of course, been under Du Wa's observation from the very beginning.
"The Hellbat from the New 52 Universe... This armor was supposed to be piloted by New 52 Batman to attack New 52 Apokolips, defeat Darkseid, and rescue Damian. I never expected it would be used against me, and with the help of the Main Universe Darkseid, no less..."
Du Wa was also surprised by the armor's power. With the divine authority of the Main Universe Darkseid as its energy source, the strength it displayed far surpassed the version of the armor he remembered.
Look at that. Even Thanoseid was being beaten into a precarious state. A few more rounds and he would be in grave danger.
This level of power had a sliver of a chance of clashing with a Deity of Multiversal standing. It even had some of the flair of the Sixth Dimension's Godkiller Armor.
However, if this was all the power they had, a surprise attack might have had a chance of succeeding, provided Du Wa didn't care about the Main Universe at all. But now, it was certainly impossible. If they had no other tricks up their sleeve, both man and armor would be left behind in the Main Universe for good.
Du Wa shifted his gaze. He had already seen that Ghost, like a non-existent phantom, had made his move. This time, this Spirit of Vengeance had gone all out, diving straight into the interior of the Hellbat Armor.
