Chapter 11 - "Probing Dan's Evil God"

--------

--------

A certain stronghold of the Evilus

"Ahhhhh!! Please... please let me go..."

"Why?! Aren't we supposed to be on the same side?!"

"Damn it... Then I'll just kill you first—ugh...!"

A phantom-like longsword sliced through the air, unleashing a storm of blood.

Its sharp edge tore through limbs, torsos, and necks—an orchestra of agony playing out with every scream.

"Damn you all! Die! Just die already!!!"

A woman known as the Killer Empress vented her fury through pure bloodlust, her voice cold and merciless.

"What a lovely bloodbath… But really, is this necessary? You're acting like a kid who lost their toy."

Vito, clutching his bandaged arm, let out a mocking chuckle.

"I heard a little something~ He's living with those justice-obsessed freaks now. Total opposites of us~"

Valletta suddenly froze mid-swing, tilting her head to glance at Vito with a chilling glare. The next second, she vanished from sight—faster than logic could comprehend.

Vito's pupils shrank. His smirk faded fast as his hand barely made it to the hilt of his blade.

Valletta appeared right in front of him, blank-faced… until she flashed a savage smile.

He had almost forgotten—This woman was LV5, the Killer Empress. Strength, strategy—she was out of his league.

His eyes widened."You—"

BOOM—!!!

Valletta's fist slammed into his gut.

Blood burst from Vito's mouth as his body folded in pain like a crushed can.

Madness flared in Valletta's eyes. Her leg snapped up like a whip, smashing into Vito's face. His features twisted grotesquely as consciousness nearly slipped away.

"Defective freak with broken senses—sight, sound, smell, taste—you're barely human. More like some twisted hybrid of man and monster!"

"If you've had enough of life, I'll send you to hell for free—no charge!"

Vito propped himself up with trembling arms, the mask-like smirk on his face now completely gone. He stared at her with eyes full of killing intent.

"You... You really think you can talk to me like that..."

Just as they were about to go all out, a terrifying divine aura blanketed the entire stronghold like a death shroud.

"That's enough. Stand down."

Even the Evilus members hiding far off felt frozen in place, trembling under the sheer force of the evil god's presence.

Valletta and Vito's expressions froze. Though they remained conscious, neither could move a muscle.

The evil god descended from his throne, calm and composed.

His hair was as black as condensed darkness itself, streaked with hints of gray in the bangs.

His eyes, like twilight dipped in death, peered straight through the layers of space—as if glaring at the one who had suddenly disrupted his plans.

"Darkness offers help. Justice accepts it."

"I used to think Orario's adventurers were boring... but now, I'm curious about him."

"I'll go meet him myself."

"If he's not the one I'm looking for and turns out to be just a thorn in our side... then I'll make sure he disappears."

"Our plan must not fail."

Valletta frowned slightly.

Vito spat out another mouthful of blood, but his eyes gleamed with sadistic delight.

"Hey... you're not planning on snitching, are you?"

Valletta squinted at him, cold and intense, then snorted and walked out of the stronghold without another word.

"I don't care about your plans. As long as I get to kill, that's all I need."

Vito grinned, pleased she backed off, but his heart boiled with murderous intent toward Dan.

Even when he's cornered, someone helps him. Even when he walks into the light, people welcome him...He's just some nobody, yet everyone loves him. Hehehe… So unfair!

His eyes gleamed wickedly as a twisted smile crept across his face.

So naive. You think joining that Familia will save your pathetic life?

The guy holding a torch in the darkness is always the first one to die if he's got no real power!

That woman? She's just amused for now. Once she's bored… let's see who's left to save you.

Meanwhile, hidden in the shadows, Valletta gripped her blade tighter and tighter, eyes flickering.

Vito—who thought he understood everything—had been wrong from the start.

Pure darkness alone didn't satisfy her bloodlust. This murder-loving lunatic could just as easily swing her blade at her so-called comrades if something else caught her interest.

"In a world where something other than slaughter finally catches my attention… Evil god? Hah.We who dwell in darkness…Don't give a damn about committing the sin of killing a god."

"....."
