Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Two more asses to kick

The Going Merry cut through the waves as it approaches it's destination. Nami stood at the bow, her eyes fixed on the horizon, her face looked worried.

Kon sat cross-legged nearby, watching her closely. 'She's been quiet since we left,' he thought. 'Is she scared for her village? I would be too if Skyloft was in trouble.'

They saw land in the distance and also signs of some buildings.

"That's Gosa Village," Nami said, "The village east to my village, Cocoyasi Village. It's also under Arlong. He has a total of twenty villages under his tyrannical rule."

Kon's eyes widened. 'Twenty villages?' he thought. 'That's a lot of people suffering.'

The crew docked the ship, and as they stepped onto the shore, a chilling sight greeted them. The village was deserted, not a single soul in sight. Worse, the buildings were in ruins—roofs caved in, walls toppled, as if a giant had swept through in a rage.

Nami froze, her breath catching. "How? Why?" she whispered, tears streaming down her face.

"Is that you, Nami?" a voice called.

The crew turned toward the sound. A Fish-Man stood there, a smug grin on his face. Nami's expression hardened. "That's Pisaro, the musician of the Arlong Pirates," she told the crew.

Pisaro's grin widened as he looked at the group. "You brought humans, Nami? You know that Arlong doesn't like new people, right?"

Kon didn't like the way Pisaro sneered at them. 'He's acting like he's better than us,' he thought, his brow furrowing.

Stepping forward, he pointed at the Fish-Man. "Oi, where are the humans that lived in this village?"

Pisaro's eyes narrowed, his tone dripping with disdain. "Shut up, human child, don't talk to your betters without permission. I am a Fish-Man, far superior to you humans. We possess greater strength and can breathe underwater. You can't even breathe more than two minutes in water, bahahaha!"

Kon's cheeks puffed out in annoyance. 'Superior? Just because he's stronger and can breathe underwater? That's stupid. Besides, I am not even a human, I am a Ryūkami.'

"Now, Nami, tell me…" Pisaro continued, ignoring Kon. "Why are you so late? You were supposed to report to Arlong a week ago."

Before Nami could respond, Jango stepped forward, his expression calm but calculated. "Allow me to get the information," he said smoothly, pulling a ring from his pocket. "Fishman, look at this ring carefully."

Pisaro's eyes locked onto the swinging ring, his smirk faltering. "What are you trying to do, you…"

"One, two....Jango!"

Before he could finish, his eyes glazed over, his body swaying slightly. Jango grinned. "Good to know that my hypnosis works on Fish-Men too. Not too superior to us humans, huh. Now tell me what happened to this village."

Pisaro's voice was flat, almost robotic. Under hypnosis he replied, "Due to its inability to fully deliver the monthly tribute demanded by Arlong, all of Gosa Village's buildings were literally overturned by Momoo, the colossal sea cow under the command of the Arlong Pirates, as a show of force and punishment."

Nami's hands clenched into fists, her tears drying as anger took over.

'Momoo did this?' she thought, her mind racing with memories of Arlong's cruelty.

'He's destroying lives just to prove a point. How many more villages will suffer like this?'

"What's a sea cow?" Kon asked, tilting his head.

Luffy, scratching his chin, piped up. "Is its meat tasty?"

Nami shot Luffy a look but answered Kon. "Momoo is a sea beast, a giant sea cow. It's about 36 meters big and is a member of Arlong Pirates. Arlong controls him."

Kon's eyes lit up with excitement. "Woah, that sounds big… I want to meet him."

As if on cue, a loud "Moooo" echoed from the sea. The crew turned to see a massive shape rising from the water, heading straight for the Going Merry.

Usopp's face paled. "Why did you have to jinx us?" he shouted, flailing his arms.

"It's going for the food in our ship!" Nami cried, her voice urgent.

They rushed toward the ship, legs pounding against the ruined ground.

Luffy, running alongside, grinned. "Sanji is on the ship. Y'all don't have to worry. He might be a cook, but he's strong."

When they reached the ship, they stopped dead in their tracks. There was Momoo, the colossal sea cow, its massive head looming over the deck.

But instead of their ship being wrecked, they saw Sanji calmly feeding the beast, tossing chunks of meat into its gaping mouth.

A large bump swelled on Momoo's forehead, evidence of a recent scuffle. The sea cow munched contentedly, looking almost… tame.

Kon's jaw dropped. "Woah, he's really big. Do you think he gives milk like normal cows?"

Nami, still catching her breath, nodded. "Probably."

Kon's eyes sparkled. "Do you think it would be sweeter than normal milk? Hey, Sanji, can you make some milk desserts? My mom used to make some very good ones."

Sanji grinned, wiping his hands on his apron. "Yes, I can. I also have some good preservatives stored that I brought from Baratie. We can store a lot of milk that could be used for months. Our ship is quite big and has a lot of storage too."

"Cool, let's milk this cow!" Kon said, practically bouncing with excitement as he looked at Momoo.

Luffy's eyes gleamed with a different kind of hunger. "After milking him, let's take his meat too! It's been a while since I had beef. Wait, is he seafood or beef?"

Momoo's eyes widened, and it let out a panicked "Moooo," its massive body shifting nervously.

Zoro, who had been quiet, crossed his arms. "Hey, we're here to beat Arlong and free Nami's village. We'll handle this cow later."

Luffy nodded enthusiastically. "Let's find this Arlong and kick his ass. Then have a feast with Nami's village!"

Jango turned to Pisaro, who still stood in a hypnotic daze. "Where's Arlong right now?"

The Fish-Man's voice was monotone. "He is in Arlong Park. He is meeting with Nezumi and his superior Rear Admiral currently after the recent events of Arlong destroying a navy ship."

"We're going to Arlong Park," Nami said, her voice firm despite the tears drying on her cheeks. 'I've waited too long for this,' she thought. 'No more running. No more deals. Arlong's reign ends today.'

Usopp gulped but tried to sound brave. "Right, let's… let's take down a pirate crew, a sea cow, and some corrupt Marines. No big deal."

Kon grinned when he heard that both Captain Nezumi and his superior was with Arlong as he said, "It looks like we have two more asses to kick."
