Chapter 104 - Chapter 104: Shocking the Sheriff for a Hundred Years

"Woah, it flies so far—truly worthy of a New Eridu coin."

Sol gazed into the Hollow where the coin had already vanished, sighing as he spoke.

With the power of a Railgun, there was no telling how far a coin might fly.

But ordinary coins could never withstand the friction of such a launch.

Just like the bullets he had just returned with the Railgun principle—after killing the gunmen, they barely traveled before shattering into sparks.

Perhaps it was because Dennies from New Eridu were mixed with some kind of special Ether alloy that they could endure such immense heat and wear.

Still, he had no idea where this coin would finally land.

As the carrier of his very first Railgun, it felt rather significant.

While Sol pondered the coin's fate, the residents of Canvas Street rushed out.

They had witnessed with their own eyes as Sol turned the forty plus thugs who sought their deaths into nothing but ash, and now their hearts brimmed with endless gratitude and reverence.

When they first saw the armed thugs opening fire on them, they were certain they were doomed.

But unexpectedly, Lord Sol had first stopped time itself, freezing the bullets, then launched a divine projectile to annihilate the enemy, securing their safety completely.

"Lord Sol, thank you so much! Without you, us old folks would have been dead for sure!"

"You're incredible!" The residents looked at Sol with genuine admiration, praising him. "Your time stop and divine projectile were simply godlike—absolutely astonishing!"

"Huh?" Sol blinked at the praise. "Time stop?"

The so-called divine projectile he could accept—it was just another way of describing his Railgun.

But time stop? That he definitely did not have. Such high-tech tricks belonged only to countries with very comfortable lives.

Besides, abilities like that were said to cause terrible side effects: kidney deficiency, weak knees, diluted milk…

Such a dreadful power, he only ever mocked it in his thoughts before sleep.

"It's what you just did—whoosh—and all the bullets froze in the air!"

An old man waved his hands frantically, explaining in excitement.

"…Fine, if you say so."

Sol could only answer helplessly.

What he had used was his Electromagnetic Manipulation—not some time stop.

"Lord Sol, thank you! If not for you, we would all have been shot to death." Another old woman stepped forward, handing him a scarf she had knitted. "It's just a pity my granddaughter didn't make it back to see your gallant figure…"

One by one, the residents crowded around, offering Sol their deepest gratitude.

Meanwhile, Qingyi and Zhu Yuan did not push through the crowd to drag Sol away, but instead crouched down to inspect Berbick's remains.

Looking at the head that had rolled to the ground, the two still felt as though it were a dream.

First, he had frozen the bullets.

Then, he had turned the bullets back on the forty-four gunmen, leaving not even a trace.

Finally, with just a single coin, he had blasted Berbick apart, leaving only half a body and a severed head.

Just moments ago, Berbick had fought the two of them to a standstill—yet now, Sol had dispatched him in a single strike.

That was Berbick! A ferocious brawler who even the two of them struggled to contend with.

His physical strength was monstrous, his fighting skills terrifyingly sharp.

And such a powerful opponent had been blown apart by a mere coin—it was almost laughable.

Moreover, everything had happened far too quickly.

Their impression of Berbick remained that of a fearsome fighter, but before he had even spoken a few threats, he was already dead.

"Truly, the world is fickle, fate unpredictable." Qingyi could not help but sigh. "A man rides high in spring, but soon reports to the King of Hell. Murder and arson will meet their due—retribution has arrived at last."

"Eh?" Zhu Yuan jolted, realizing. "That… was so smooth!"

But she quickly cast the thought aside, her gaze shifting to Sol among the crowd.

He still wore that same calm expression, as if the one who had tossed a coin and killed Berbick had not been him.

And this was Berbick—the infamous underground scourge, a nightmare for the New Eridu Public Security, a menace far worse than the Mountain Lion boss that Jane had been infiltrating recently.

Should she say—this was exactly what to expect from a man aiming to become a Void Hunter?

No obstacle fazed him. He never disappointed. His power exceeded all imagination.

Perhaps… this was what the hope of New Eridu should look like.

A shining light, a god descending.

Zhu Yuan gazed at Sol, a little lost in thought.

After some time, the residents gradually dispersed on their own, finally giving Zhu Yuan, Qingyi, and Eous the chance to approach him.

"Sol, thank you. Without you, Qingyi and I couldn't have saved the residents of Canvas Street—let alone ourselves."

Zhu Yuan spoke with heartfelt gratitude.

Sol smiled. "There's no need for thanks. We're all friends. Of course I couldn't just stand by."

"No matter what, today was all thanks to you." Qingyi shook her head lightly. "When we finish handling this case, we'll make sure to give you proper thanks."

Zhu Yuan continued, "Now that we've taken care of Vision Corporation's men, Berbick was surely one of their trump cards. There won't be another like him. We can return to Public Security with peace of mind."

"But just to be safe, I'd like to stay here in Canvas Street with Qingyi. Sol, you and this Proxy should go out and file the report."

She wasn't assigning it this way to avoid extra work.

Guarding Canvas Street was simply more troublesome, and she didn't want to burden Sol further when he had already done so much.

Sol was about to agree—when suddenly, from the direction of the Dead End Hollow, a streak of lightning tore through the Hollow's barrier.
