Chapter 87 - Chapter 83 : Little Witch Ning Rongrong and Rogue Rabbit

Ning Fengzhi looked at Xiao Wu and the little girl, recognizing their resemblance and connection.

A quiet surprise crossed his face. The room, once tense with years of separation, now held a sense of reunion and warmth.

The years apart melted away in that moment. Yuan Longxuan's calm presence and confident demeanor made it clear:

whatever challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, united by bonds of friendship, trust, and respect.

"You guessed wrong, old fox. I don't have a daughter," Ning Fengzhi said with a faint smile.

Wu Ling, standing next to Yuan Longxuan, quickly stepped forward to explain.

Uncle old fox, I'm not my master's daughter either," she said politely.

Jian Douluo and Gu Douluo both laughed quietly.

They found the little girl Wu Ling honest and straightforward, which made them smile.

Ning Fengzhi's face twitched slightly, clearly flustered. "No! This isn't funny! Don't call me an old fox!" he muttered to himself.

Then, he glanced at his daughter, Ning Rongrong.

Her eyes sparkled with curiosity, as if she had just discovered a new and fascinating world.

"Dad is an old fox, um…" Ning Rongrong said shyly, her words half-teasing, half-innocent.

Gu Rong, realizing the situation was getting out of hand, quickly moved behind Ning Rongrong and covered her mouth.

"Rongrong, even though the sect master might be a bit… eccentric, your father is not really a fox!"

Ning Fengzhi's face darkened with mock annoyance. "How dare you!" he said, though the anger was more playful than real.

Yuan Longxuan gently patted Wu Ling's head. "Wu Ling, be careful.

Even if he seems like an old fox, we shouldn't say it in front of others."

"Yes! Wu Ling understands," she replied eagerly. "Next time, I'll say it behind his back!"

"Sit down, don't be so polite," Yuan Longxuan said, taking a seat at the table.

Xiao Wu and Wu Ling sat beside him without hesitation.

"Old Fox Sect Master Ning, you should sit too. It's not good to eat standing up," Yuan Longxuan added kindly.

The meal began in a lively atmosphere. Yuan Longxuan, Jian Douluo, Ning Fengzhi, and Gu Rong chatted and drank, while Xiao Wu and Wu Ling quietly enjoyed their food.

Within fifteen minutes, all the dishes were served, filling the table with delicious aromas.

From his conversation with Jian Douluo, Yuan Longxuan learned that Liu Erlong, the "big boss," had gone to Tianshui College to find his friend Han Ruyan.

Meanwhile, Ning Rongrong, the little witch, shyly approached the table and sat near Wu Ling and Xiao Wu.

"Sister, you're beautiful, like a little princess," she said softly.

Ning Rongrong was only ten years old and slightly shorter than Wu Ling.

"Hehe, thank you, sister. My name is Ning Rongrong. What are your names?" she asked politely, curious about the two girls.

Though young, Ning Rongrong understood social boundaries.

She had never seen her father teased like this, so she observed quietly, careful not to overstep.

"Brother Yuan Longxuan told me that the affairs of Juxiang Pavilion are my responsibility.

We can talk about other things later, but I guarantee that no one will find fault with the way we run it," Ning Fengzhi said with a tipsy smile.

By now, it was clear that he had drunk some of the Thousand-Year Soul Wine.

He still looked strong and manly, unlike ten years ago when two jars would have knocked him down completely.

"Don't nag me about money," he continued. "The most important thing is to have a good place to eat and drink."

Yuan Longxuan smiled, taking out more than a dozen jars of Thousand-Year Soul Wine.

"One more pot! Whoever falls first will get a turtle painted on their face," he joked, teasing Ning Fengzhi.

"My name is Xiao Wu, and she's my good disciple, Wu Ling. We're master and disciple, not sisters," Xiao Wu said, playfully pinching Ning Rongrong's chubby cheek.

"Oh? So you're master and disciple?" Ning Rongrong asked, not at all upset.

She was curious and friendly, enjoying the soft warmth of Xiao Wu's hand.

"Yes! I was rescued by Master Xiao Wu and Master Yuan Longxuan," Wu Ling added proudly.

The three girls quickly bonded, chatting and laughing together like little birds.

Their voices filled the room with energy and laughter.

After about half an hour, Ning Fengzhi, exhausted from the wine, finally slumped over the table and fell asleep.

Yuan Longxuan shook his head, amused. "Look at this old fox. He's pathetic."

"Old Bones, help him to the sofa and later to the guest room," Yuan Longxuan instructed.

Even Sword Douluo Chen Xin and Bone Douluo Gu Rong hadn't finished their drinks, so Yuan Longxuan encouraged them to continue.

An hour passed, and both Chen Xin and Gu Rong collapsed onto the table, one after the other. Yuan Longxuan laughed. "You still have more practice to do," he teased.

Meanwhile, Ning Rongrong and Wu Ling continued their discussion quietly.

"My spirit is the Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda, a support spirit. I've already reached level nineteen this year," Ning Rongrong said proudly.

Wow! That's fast! Can a support spirit really reach that level so quickly?" Wu Ling asked, amazed.

"My dad says you have to eat well to cultivate properly," Ning Rongrong explained. "He makes me eat even food I don't like, so I can train better."

"And what's your spirit, Wu Ling?" she asked, curious.

"My spirit is the Light and Dark Peacock," Wu Ling replied confidently. "I'm now a level twenty-seven Great Spirit Master."

Ning Rongrong's eyes widened in surprise. "Level twenty-seven! Wu Ling, that's incredible!" She hadn't expected the girl she'd been chatting with for two hours to be such a gifted genius.

"Hehe, it's nothing. All thanks to my master and grandmaster," Wu Ling said, smiling sweetly. She felt lucky to have such capable teachers guiding her cultivation.

"And Sister Xiao Wu? What's her cultivation level? Is she a Soul Sage or higher?" Ning Rongrong asked curiously.

Hehe, Xiao Wu replied teasingly, "If you want to know, Rongrong, you'll need to make a small sacrifice first."

Before Ning Rongrong could respond, Xiao Wu gently hugged the tiny girl. Ning Rongrong was startled but not scared.

"Sister, you're… so tall!" she said softly, noticing Xiao Wu's graceful figure.

Xiao Wu laughed lightly and brushed a strand of hair behind Ning Rongrong's ear.

"Rongrong, you smell nice, just like Wu Ling," she whispered softly, making the little girl blush.

The girls giggled, enjoying the warmth and friendship forming among them.

The room was filled with laughter, chatter, and the cozy feeling of old friends reunited.
