Chapter 2 - Rebirth

'Where… am I?'

That was the first thought Ethan could process.

He felt like he was floating—or maybe he was suspended. Maybe water? That was the closest thing he could compare it to, though it was hard to tell.

He tried to move, to look around. But there was nothing—only darkness and the sensation of being surrounded.

Then—bump.

He brushed up against something… or someone?

'Wait. Is there someone else in here with me?'

He tried to speak, but no words came out. No voice. Just the weird feeling of something tugging at his stomach. Like… a cord?

Then, a voice.

"Mrs. Harmonia, push!"

Ethan's entire soul froze.

'Motherfucker Arceus, you bastard! I've been reincarnated into my BIRTH!'

If he could scream, he would. Instead, he felt the slow and sudden shift of his body being pushed forward. Light. Air. Cold.

And then—crying.

His crying.

He heard a sigh of relief—presumably from his new mother—as he was gently caught by a Blissey, passed to an Audino for cleaning and wrapping, with several nurse Pokémon helping out.

All Ethan could do was mentally sigh.

'Oh, great. I have to live through THIS all over again.'

Then came the inevitable:

"It's a boy!" the doctor declared cheerfully.

But before Ethan could even mentally groan—

"It's a girl!" followed a second announcement.

Ethan paused.

'…Wait. I'm going to have a TWIN?'

That was new. He had never had any siblings in his past life. And now, not only did he have a sister—he had a twin.

Then, more voices entered the chaos. Younger, higher-pitched. Girls. He could only hear them since his eyes were still sealed shut, but there were at least five different speakers.

"Aww! Look at our cute little brother! Isn't he adorable, Akagi?"

"Yes, I believe so. What do you think, Outa?"

"He's precious! I can't wait to spoil him like I do with you girls!"

"This makes us the second pair of twins in the family, right Violets?"

"Yes. And thank Arceus we finally have one male in this entire house." This one sounded… done. Emotionally dead. Probably the tired one.

Ethan's newborn brain was in overload.

'…Five voices. Five sisters. And now one twin sister being born beside me…'

'…Oh no.'

"Bring me my children," a woman's voice called out gently, but with authority.

Ethan felt himself being lifted, his tiny newborn body swaddled in a blanket. He mentally groaned at the helplessness. This better not become a regular thing... I swear, if I poop myself in public...

He was passed into someone's arms—warm, gentle, and safe. Slowly, his eyes fluttered open. Everything was hazy at first. The lighting was soft, but not artificial like a typical hospital. No cold sterile lights, no beeping machines. Just calm voices and the distant flutter of wings—probably more Blisseys or Audinos at work.

Definitely not your standard hospital. Arceus, what did you reincarnate me into, a damn Poké-Royal family?

As he adjusted to the blurry light, he managed to glance left. There, just inches away, lay another newborn—his twin sister. She was asleep, bundled up like him. He blinked, surprised by how tiny and peaceful she looked.

Then he looked right—and met eyes with a man.

The first impression? Cool. That was the only word that came to mind. The man had sharp features, piercing red eyes, jet-black hair, and a well-kept beard. He wore a tailored black suit, and his expression was soft but confident. The kind of guy who would walk into a league conference and shut the room up just by existing.

'That's not my dad'. Ethan's thoughts froze. 'I mean, he's supposed to be my dad NOW, but he's definitely not the old one. My last dad didn't look this... main-character-tier.'

Before Ethan could further process the shock, he felt movement again—his body gently turned—and then he saw her.

His mother.

His breath—if he could properly take one—hitched. She looked almost exactly like his mother from his previous life. Same facial features, same warm aura. But younger. Prettier, even. Her skin glowed with life, her eyes were deep black and glistened with tears of joy. But the most striking thing?

'Her hair... what the hell?!'

It shimmered with all the colors of the rainbow. Not dyed. Not a trick of the light. Her hair literally radiated multiple colors—violet, teal, crimson, gold, sky-blue—flowing naturally like a waterfall of color, not clashing but harmonizing, like the northern lights had decided to live on someone's head.

'Holy Distortion World... her hair is the color of the freaking rainbow'.

Was this the effect of Aura? A special Pokémon gene? Or just... Arceus being theatrical again?

Ethan mentally sighed. 'So... my mom's a literal goddess and my dad looks like the final gym leader. I better be good-looking in this life, or I'm filing a complaint with cosmic HR.'

Then came more voices—his sisters again, from somewhere in the room. He couldn't see them, but their chatter filled the air.

"Aww, he's opening his eyes, look!"

"Do you think he'll have red eyes like Father?"

"No way, with Mother's genetics, he's going to sparkle."

"Well, he's already cuter than you were, Outa."

"Shut up, Asagi."

"Language!" the oldest-sounding one snapped.

"But it's true!"

"Still, language!"

Ethan mentally groaned. 'Yup. This is going to be a loud household.'

Just as he was about to let his consciousness drift, a sudden warmth enveloped him—his mother brought him close, cradling his head gently. Her voice was a whisper, but it sank into his soul like a lullaby.

"My little Ethan... Welcome to the world."

He blinked slowly, eyes locked onto hers.

Okay. I'll live through the diapers and the nonsense. For now... this is fine.

The father looked at Ethan and let out a low chuckle.

"Golden, huh? Well, that's great," he said proudly, gently brushing his thumb along the newborn's cheek. "Ethan Harmonia… Welcome to the world, my son."

Ethan blinked slowly, processing that name. 'Harmonia? Wait… isn't that—? No, never mind that now.'

The man then turned his gaze toward the little girl lying beside Ethan.

"Well, since you've named the boy, I get to name the girl," he said with a confident grin as he looked at the woman lying in bed. "And since we've already got a team going, how about… Kisumi? How does that sound, honey?"

Ethan could hear the soft giggle from the woman—his mother—as she nodded gently, her rainbow-colored hair catching the dim light of the room in a soft sheen.

"Kisumi Harmonia…" she whispered, her voice sweet and calm, but also filled with a strange strength. "That sounds perfect, we can even call her Kitsu for short."

Ethan, still struggling to process everything, just stared up blankly, his tiny body cradled in warmth and love, but his mind very much that of a 11 Year old

'So let me get this straight… I've been reincarnated… into a high-class Pokémon family… with rainbow-haired mom, a supermodel-tier dad, and now a twin sister named Kitsu… and I already have… five older sisters?'

He twitched.

'…I'm screwed.'

One Year Later

It had been a full year since Ethan Harmonia had been reborn, and in that time, he had learned a lot just from being around his parents — maybe too much.

The first major thing? His family was loaded.

As in, mega-corporation-level loaded. The Harmonia Corporation — yes, that Harmonia — was the biggest supplier of held items in the world. From naturally sourced ones like Leftovers and Black Sludge to artificially refined items like the Assault Vest or Eviolite, if it was useful in battle, they either mined it, made it, or distributed it. Every item had the company's signature "H" on it, marking it as certified by the Harmonia Corporation.

And Ethan's dad? He was the CEO.

So yeah, Ethan thought, lying in a crib that probably cost more than most people's houses, I'm technically a trust fund baby. Kill me.

The second weird thing he learned? He had been born eleven years earlier than in his previous life. Which made no sense at all, but hey — reincarnation wasn't exactly an exact science.

And that wasn't the only oddity.

Apparently, Steel and Dark types were considered relatively new discoveries, like they'd only recently been officially classified. That alone messed with his timeline knowledge. Meanwhile, Fairy-types had apparently always existed, which made him question whether this was even the same universe as before.

And then there were the regions.

New ones. Plural. Entire new regions he had never heard of. While part of him was excited about exploring them one day, the logical part of his brain was starting to panic.

Add to that the rising tension between Kanto and Johto — something about a political cold war — and things were starting to look a bit unstable.

He'd learned about that from his grandfather, who liked to rant about the "good old days" and how the "Johtonian brats" were all hot-blooded fools. Apparently, Ethan had inherited his black hair and crimson eyes from his father's side — the Harmonia line. His grandfather called it "the mark of ambition."

Great, Ethan thought. I'm a literal anime protagonist now.

But the biggest trip? His sisters.

He had five of them — older, bossy, beautiful, and terrifying. None of them had inherited their mother's full rainbow-colored hair, but each had taken a "slice" of the spectrum:

Akagi, the eldest, had vivid red hair.

Asagi, second oldest, had sharp, ocean-blue locks.

Outa, the third, bore deep indigo.

Midory, the fourth, had leafy green curls.

Violet, the fifth, wore royal purple like a fashion statement.

And then there was his twin, Kitsu, whose soft yellow hair completed the rainbow.

'It's the fucking rainbow,' Ethan muttered internally one day while watching them pose for a family photo. 'I'm living in a Skittles commercial.'

As if that wasn't enough chaos, he'd discovered something strange about Pokémon evolution mechanics in this world. Certain trade evolutions weren't working. Scyther couldn't evolve into Scizor — even with a Metal Coat. Rhyhorn's Protector was recognized, but Rhyperior didn't exist yet. And don't even get started on Magmortar.

Yet somehow… Electivire did exist — and according to the news, it was discovered by accident when the current Johto Champion, as a kid, shoved a thunderstone and car battery into an Electabuzz "to see what would happen."

Science, baby.

Ethan was currently being held in the arms of his third-oldest sister, Outa, who had indigo hair and a wild grin on her face. In her free hand, she held a strange metallic object and waved it excitedly in front of their father.

"An Electirizer!" she announced proudly.

Mr. Harmonia blinked and raised an eyebrow as he glanced at the item, then at his grinning daughter. "And… what exactly does that do?"

Outa's grin widened, her enthusiasm barely contained as she bounced Ethan a little in her arms. The one-year-old just blinked, somewhat used to the chaos by now.

"Simple," she said smugly. "Not everyone can just shove a Thunder Stone and a car battery into an Electabuzz like the Johto Champion did. There has to be a safer way to evolve one into an Electivire!"

Mr. Harmonia rubbed his temples. "I'm not even going to ask how you know what the Champion did..."

Ethan just stared at the shiny object. Even at one year old, part of his old self was screaming: This is how disasters start

Ethan blinked slowly, his baby brain struggling to keep up with his adult mind screaming inside.

'Wait… hold on. That is how Electivire was discovered in my past life. She's actually about to invent the Electirizer?! Oh God. She's serious. This is how history starts.'

He stared at the glowing, sparking device in Outa's hand with wide baby eyes.

'Okay okay okay—how do I signal I support this? I'm a baby. I can't speak. I can't write. I don't even have teeth yet. Come on, think!'

Outa jiggled him in her arms playfully, oblivious to the mental breakdown going on behind those chubby cheeks.

'Do I clap? No, too basic. Do I… nod? Too subtle. Do I bite the Electirizer to show interest? No, she'll definitely tase me.'

Ethan's tiny hands suddenly reached out and patted the Electirizer with deliberate baby enthusiasm.

Everyone paused.

Outa gasped. "He touched it! He knows! See, Dad, even the baby believes in me!"

Mr. Harmonia raised a brow, skeptical but intrigued. "Well... he does have unusually good instincts for a one-year-old…"

Ethan, still internally panicking: "Please just give her a lab grant before she tries strapping it to a Pikachu on a kite during a thunderstorm."

Outa, grinning ear to ear, holds baby Ethan in one arm and the prototype Electirizer core in the other. The room is frozen. Coffee cups tremble. PowerPoint slides flicker in the background, long forgotten.

"So—you all agree with me, ha ha ha ha ha!"

She gestures with the Electirizer like she's just reinvented civilization.

Board Director #4 (an older woman, pale-faced):

"Wait… she's serious? That's a prototype? And that baby is—"

Ethan screaming internally in his baby body

'Someone call Akagi NOW.'

Board Director #1 (adjusting his tie nervously):

"Harmonia-sama, is this a… demonstration? A live field test? A… prank?!"

Hermione Harmonia arms crossed, rubbing her temple. "…Outa. You've now burst into four confidential meetings this month… and this is the second time you've used a baby as a prop."

Outa dead serious continued.

"Not a prop. Ethan's my co-signer. He was there for the energy spike. Tell them, Ethan!"

Baby Ethan just stares forward, deadpan, soul crushed, cheeks chubby.

Professor Elm Sr. (Lrising slowly from his seat, staring at the device, as he spoke.

"…Miss Harmonia. If what she says is true, this isn't just a prototype. This is a scientific miracle. We've been stuck for decades on artificial evolutionary enhancement without trading triggers."

Board Director #3 (suspicious):

"You mean to tell us… a twelve-year-old reverse-engineered a synthetic evolution catalyst, applied it to a live spark crystal… and did it while holding an infant?"

Outa smirked as she continues. "Technically, I strapped Ethan to my chest and did the final welds with my teeth."

Boardroom:

Dead. Silence.

Professor Elm Sr. leaning forward, eyes gleaming "I want it. I want the blueprint. I want her in my lab."

Hermione Harmonia just sighing. "She's not going anywhere unless you offer her at least two patents, 15% R&D royalties, and full naming rights."

Outa already writing on the whiteboard.

"It's called the Outa-Ethan Sibling Spark Core Electirizer! Rolls right off the tongue."

Ethan internally, his baby eyes twitching. 'End me. Please. Arceus, if you're listening—send Akagi or Giratina. I don't care which.

I've died before. I can do it again.'
