Chapter 22 - CONFESSION

Dawn came home from school, she was in an oddly happy mood, happier than usual.

Aurora who had taken a break from work because she was sick, looked at her happy daughter and smiled.

She put down the book she was reading and got up, sneaking towards her unsuspecting daughter.

Dawn began going up the stairs to put her bag in her room, and she did(with Aurora following closely).

And as soon as she put down the bag onto the ground, Aurora grabbed Dawn and hugged her, imitating a monsters roar.

Dawn laughed as she tried to struggle, her laughing was loud, and she became weak from it.

Aurora put down her daughter and giggled, then she smirked, putting on her teasing face.

"So, what's with the good mood?" She teased.

Dawn turned to her mother and opened her mouth but then froze, her face getting redder.

"Oh, I get it! A boy?" She asked with a sly tone.

But Dawn's reaction cemented this teasing guess, her face grew redder, and she was finally able to talk but it was filled with stammers.

"I-uhh, it-it's noth-… nothing!" Dawn stammered, she tried hard to hide the smile by forcing a frown but the blush gave her off instead.

"That bad? It's okay, don't worry. I'll keep it a secret," Aurora ruffled Dawn's hair with a sly smile.

Aurora walked out the room and down the stairs, through the living room door and into the room.

She then picked up her book, her mood is now ALOT better. That was such a sweet medicine, at this rate she'll be cured by tomorrow.

Minutes later, Dawn shyly shifted into the room, her room just above a whisper.

"M-mom?" She asked, "ca-can you tell me how you-… told dad about your feelings?"

She unconsciously gulped before looking at her mother directly, her eyes were that of a puppy pleading, but she was still nervous and furiously blushing.

Aurora took a tissue and folded it into a long rectangle and wedged it between the pages of the book that she was reading and put down the book.

"Why do you want to know?" She snickered, "You want advice?"

"N-NO! I-I just wanted to…" the rest was inaudible as she looked away.

"I didn't hear the rest, but oh well," Aurora shrugged, "Dad's out to get groceries, so why not, I'm bored."

Dawn shifted to the couch, sitting down on another couch which was perpendicular to the one that Aurora was sitting at.

"Well I-"

——————

I was bored today, half the teachers and students were at home, mostly because there was an infection going on.

Pretty sure that idiot has no idea about it-…

I stand corrected.

I look at the person who came in, it was Elliot with a mask and gloves on his hands.

Now he decides to be a germaphobe? Pick a lane dude.

He then sits at his usual seat, I keep staring at him with confusion. What's he getting ready for? A zombie apocalypse? That silly little idiot.

I sigh, letting out a long breath. Regardless of how much I deny it, I REALLY want to talk to him.

"Hey-uhm, you free later?" I ask, "How about we go to the movies?"

He turned to me and immediately nodded, I noticed at the way his glasses keep fogging up whenever he exhaled, I couldn't help but let out an amused smile.

He is so cute, should I deny it? Nah, better not, so I'm gonna use this outing as an opportunity.

Later, after going to the movies, we walked out the cinema, it's time, I should start the plan!

"This feels like a date, don't you think?" I slyly teased, or so I tried, my face was hotter than it ever was. Elliot turned to me with a smile and a slight blush.

"I guess it does, so you think of it as a date?" He asked me, he's probably gonna tease me more, not that I mind.

I then stopped and stared at him, the people passing us and walking around, this whole mall is filled with their drivel, but thankfully it wasn't that loud.

"Yes, I'd like to think of it as a date," I paused, taking a deep breath and looking around before staring him right in the eye, "Because I've done something I hate SO MUCH! SO DAMN MUCH!!"

"What is it?" he tilted his head, I felt my heart skip, I then shake my head, shaking off the nervousness.

"I fell for you," I stated with as much confidence as I can muster, "I never had any rivals, just people who praised me and tried to ingratiate themselves with me."

I stared at his wide-eyed and blushing face, I let out a giggle before my vision began becoming unclear, like I was underwater.

I felt something wet travel down my cheek, what? What's this? Why?

"It's hard to find your equal, I personally know that," he walked to me, awkwardly at first, but then he pulled me into a hug.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!

W-What do I do?!? I-I'VE NEVER BEEN HUGGED!! ESPECIALLY BY MY CRUSH!!!

Actually I never had a crush until now so… WHAT DO I DO?!

"Don't overthink, just enjoy the moment," he whispered, and in a mere moment…

Time slowed, the people in the background became invisible, the noise around us got blocked by this invisible barrier around us.

"I too, never confessed to anyone too, I never got confessed to, so I'm panicking too." He said, from his tone alone, I was able to deduce he was confused and nervous, "But, Let me be honest…

I love you too

You were the only girl that actually became friends with me and STAYED, including online friends."

We then let go of each other, feeling awkward, so I decided being dramatic is better than being awkward.

"Isn't it too fast for you to suddenly say that?" I asked. He shook his head let out a laugh.

"I actually liked you since the beginning, but I kept acting like I wasn't," He chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck "so that I don't seem like a creep."

His laid back attitude made the tears dry up, a smile coming back on my face, thank God, I feel so grateful.

"Why don't we become an actual couple?" I suggested.

I then held my hand out to him, and he took it without hesitation and nodded, a large triumphant smile plastered on his face.

That makes two of us.

"Coffee?" He asked. I nodded and as soon as I did, he pulled me, not letting go of my hand, doing the opposite instead, holding it tighter.

"So impatient!" I laughed.

"Of course I would be!" He responded with excitement, "Why wouldn't I be?"

Makes sense. Hehe

I then sped up, walking side-by-side with him, I intertwined our fingers together, he looked at me with a blush but it wasn't awkward, it had a glint of confidence.

His posture was better than ever, his gaze lacked this "I'm better than you" vibe that it had.

The background was still blurring together, we were in out own world, no outsiders allowed.

We reached the Cafe and we both sat in front of each other, Elliot got a latte while I got an espresso.

And when it was ready, we drank out coffees while discussing and joking various topics, learning more and more about each other.

We even shared our drinks, little does he know, I drank straight from the place his lips were at.

I'm so naughty-NO NO! NO HORNY!!

Anyways, as I was saying, that was all for our date, it was an unforgettable day, and probably the best day in my life.

I slept that day with an unnatural amount of comfort and fuzziness in my heart.
