Chapter 2 - Where It All Began

"Would you date me?" heasked.

I said " yes" . For the first time, I didn't overthink it. I just went with the flow. I knew he liked me from a long time. He was sweet and kind-hearted, a genuinely good guy. And for once, I wanted to take that step and let go of my hesitation. Just this one time, I told myself. I wanted to feel what it was like to take a chance. Because before this, I never really did...

And that was just the beginning. Everything started when I moved into a new house, in a new city, in a completely new state—Jaipur. From the blooming ,green familiarity of Guwahati, I found myself in the vibrant chaos of Rajasthan. I had never lived away from home before, but Jaipur didn't feel unsettling. I had cousins there, warm, relaxed, free-spirited people who were nothing like my strict but loving family back home.

My home in Guwahati was a typical Indian household. It was disciplined and noisy in all the right ways. It was a warm place, but not one filled with much freedom. Still, it was my happy place.

I came to Jaipur under the excuse of pursuing my degree, but let's be honest, academics were just a cover story. What I really wanted was independence, freedom, new beginnings—a chance to find myself outside the boundaries I had always known.

And I did meet new people—so many of them. People with opinions that challenged mine, ideas I never considered, and personalities that pulled me out of my shell. Some stayed, and some parted. But each encounter shaped me a little more.

Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. Hi, I'm Tara, the protagonist in this story. Everything you're about to read is from my point of view—raw, honest, and real.
