"Amber, we're not late, are we?"
Lumine jogged over, a little anxious.
"Nope, I just got here myself,"
Amber said with a bright smile, waving her hand.
"Good..."
Lumine let out a sigh of relief.
She was the kind of person who took appointments seriously.
If they'd been late because she got too into reading manga, she definitely would've felt guilty.
Luckily, they made it in time.
Thank you, Boss Han… and the Wind-Wind Fruit,
she thought gratefully.
"But... how did you two come down from the sky just now? Lumine, you can fly?"
Amber was genuinely curious.
She knew Paimon could fly—she'd noticed that during their very first meeting.
But Lumine? That was new.
In fact, if Lumine could fly on her own, it made a gift Amber had prepared feel kind of... pointless.
A faint trace of frustration crossed her face.
"Because Lumine is a Wind-Wind Fruit user now! She can control the wind!"
Paimon said excitedly.
"Wind-Wind... what?"
"She can control wind?"
Amber looked completely confused.
What the heck was a Wind-Wind Fruit?
Was that a thing in Teyvat?
Or was this something exclusive to travelers?
"Let me show you!"
Lumine smiled slightly. With a thought, a soft breeze wrapped around her.
She gently lifted off the ground and hovered in midair.
"Whoa! You're really flying?!"
Amber was stunned.
Flying without a Wind Glider? That was unheard of.
Even with a Vision attuned to the Anemo element, it wasn't possible to float like this.
"Lumine… is that Wind-Wind Fruit ability something all travelers have?"
Amber couldn't help but feel a little envious.
With powers like that, recon missions would be so much easier.
"Ah, no. I got it from a place here in Mondstadt called the Worries Relieving Bookhouse,"
Lumine explained, sounding a little embarrassed.
"We just came from there. It's far from the plaza, so we flew to make it on time."
"That shop gives out rewards just for reading manga! I got this camera from there!"
Paimon proudly waved her video camera in the air.
"Worries Relieving... Bookhouse?"
"Reading manga gives you rewards?!"
Amber froze in place, her mind blank with confusion.
Manga?
Rewards for reading them?
What in Barbatos' name were these two even talking about?!
So Lumine's powerful wind-control ability actually came from that shop?
Amber found it hard to believe.
As a scout knight of the Knights of Favonius, she prided herself on knowing Mondstadt like the back of her hand.
But she'd never even heard of a place where you could read "manga"—whatever that was—and come away with powers.
"Manga is a type of book with lots of pictures and fewer words. Boss Han's manga are really fun to read,"
Lumine explained.
"Cardcaptor Sakura was super cute! It's just too bad we can only read one book per day,"
Paimon added.
The two of them began enthusiastically recommending the shop.
Since Boss Han opened his place tucked away in a side alley, he likely didn't get much exposure.
Helping him promote it a little was the least they could do.
Hearing them talk about it, Amber's interest was piqued.
"Manga that looks good and even gives you stuff? Sounds like a fun place! Let's check it out right now!"
"Sure, we'll take you!"
Paimon had no objections—then suddenly remembered something.
"Wait, Amber, didn't you say you had a special gift for Lumine?"
"Oh—yeah. It was a set of Wind Gliders… though I guess she doesn't need them now,"
Amber replied, taking out the present, scratching her head awkwardly.
She had planned to give the gift as a surprise and then take Lumine through the glider license exam.
But now that Lumine could fly on her own?
Wind Gliders were kind of… obsolete.
"Well, I'll treat you to some Sweet Madame with Carrot Glazed Meat later!"
Amber offered instead.
"Yay! That means Paimon gets two servings!"
Paimon perked up instantly—her voice noticeably higher at the mention of food.
But just as the trio was preparing to head back to the manga shop, the sky over Mondstadt suddenly changed.
The once-clear blue sky darkened, covered by a wave of ominous black clouds.
A fierce wind began to howl through the city, shaking trees and buildings alike.
Then came the sound of… dragon roars.
"What's happening?"
Amber frowned, puzzled—
—and then spotted a massive shadow forming in the sky.
"Oh no… It's Stormterror!"
Her face turned grim.
She hadn't expected Stormterror to attack Mondstadt so soon.
This was bad. She had to report to Acting Grand Master Jean immediately.
High above the city, Stormterror hovered ominously, letting out a deafening roar toward the statue of Barbatos.
Dark, turbulent winds began to swirl—elemental power forming jet-black tornadoes that tore downward from the sky, ravaging the city below.
Panic erupted as citizens fled in all directions.
"We can't let this go on!"
Lumine's face turned serious.
She had a strong sense of justice. She couldn't just stand by and watch this happen.
Without hesitation, she launched herself into the air—riding the wind.
"Hehe! Didn't expect our first big moment to come so soon! Episode One of the Traveler's Logbook, here we go!!"
Paimon followed close behind, cradling the camera in her hands with excitement.
Amber, left behind in the chaos, just stood frozen in the gusting wind—completely stunned.
