Chapter 103 - Ch 103

In Konoha Village…

A slight ripple distorted the air in the square before the Hokage Residence. A figure materialized as if from nowhere, instantly drawing the attention of the surrounding villagers. It was Kagami, dressed in black, his posture upright and imposing, having teleported back from the Hidden Rain Village using the Flying Thunder God Technique.

To save time, Kagami had put on Obito's Sharingan, placed all the Konoha shinobi and the sealed Ten-Tails into the Kamui dimension, and then traveled alone, crossing thousands of miles in a single instant.

"The Flying Thunder God Technique truly is convenient," Kagami mused, shaking his head with a smile as he felt the dregs of his remaining chakra. "Even a distance of thousands of miles can be crossed in the blink of an eye. But the chakra cost is certainly not cheap." The single teleport had consumed most of his reserves. If he hadn't absorbed so much of the Nine-Tails' chakra before, his own supply wouldn't have been enough. And that was just for him alone; bringing others would have been even more costly.

"Lord Hokage!"

"Lord Hokage!"

When the villagers recognized Kagami, they immediately greeted him with deep respect. Everyone in Konoha was aware of his immense power, and no one dared to show him any disrespect. Kagami simply nodded in acknowledgment, not paying them much mind.

He opened the Kamui dimension and released Kakashi and the others.

"Lord Kagami, may I bury Obito in Konoha's cemetery?" Kakashi asked as soon as he was released, his face etched with sorrow. He had seen Obito's body in the Kamui dimension, and the reality that the masked man behind the Nine-Tails Rampage was his childhood friend was difficult to accept, even if he had suspected it. But Obito was dead now; he had paid the price. If possible, allowing his friend a proper burial in Konoha would be his final comfort.

But Kagami's rejection was stern and absolute. "No. Obito committed countless acts that threatened this village, and he was one of the perpetrators of the Uchiha clan massacre. I have other uses for his body."

Though Obito was dead, Kagami had not forgiven him for attacking Suzune. He would never allow Obito to be buried in Konoha like a hero. Besides, he intended to give the body to Orochimaru for research.

"Lord Kagami..."

"Kakashi, stop. What Obito did is unforgivable."

Kakashi looked desperate, about to plead again, but Shikaku Nara cut him off. Kakashi's brow furrowed, a flash of pain and conflict in his eyes. He took a deep breath, but ultimately chose silence, nodding slowly. The gesture was heavy with helplessness and loss. "I understand." He lowered his head and walked away dejectedly. Might Guy hesitated for a moment, then chased after his friend.

Kagami waved his hand, dismissing the others. He then swapped Obito's eye for Itachi's again and bought some food that his wives enjoyed before heading back to the Uchiha palace.

"I'm back."

Opening the door, Kagami smiled as he saw the girls chatting together with Konan.

"Welcome back, darling!" they all said in unison, their worries visibly melting away at the sight of his safe return.

Kagami nodded, then turned his gaze to Konan, who had been staring at him intently. "Though I didn't kill Madara myself," he said with a smile, "he did die in front of me."

Upon hearing this, a single crystal tear traced a path down Konan's cheek. An unprecedented light then shone in her eyes—the release of a long-suppressed, burning need for vengeance. Nagato was finally avenged.

She looked up at Kagami, her grateful eyes speaking volumes. In the end, she could only manage three words. "Thank you." She knew that without his help, she might never have been able to defeat her enemy.

Kagami gently placed the food on the table, his face warm. "You're welcome." A comforting warmth spread through Konan's heart. She nodded silently. Kagami smiled and pulled the girls to sit down. "Let's eat. I bought this especially for you all."

After the meal, Kagami took a shower and went straight to his room. The battle had left him uninjured but utterly exhausted. He had never experienced such a high-intensity fight and needed a good rest. He decided he would deal with Itachi, still imprisoned at the Anbu base, tomorrow.

Drifting in a state between sleep and wakefulness, he felt someone slip into his bed and press against him. The faint, sweet fragrance of a young woman filled the air. Kagami opened his eyes drowsily and was surprised to see who was in his arms. He never expected Konan to come to him in the middle of the night.

"Konan! You... mmmph."

Before he could finish, his mouth was covered by Konan's sweet lips. "Don't talk," she whispered. "Just kiss me." Perhaps because of her burgeoning feelings for him, she was surprisingly bold.

The next day, Kagami awoke from a deep sleep, the scent of the woman still lingering on his nose. He looked at the sleeping Konan beside him and smiled gently. Kissing her flushed cheek, he whispered, "Rest a little longer." He covered her with the blanket, dressed, and left the room. Now that Konan was his woman, he would not neglect her. After he left, Konan opened her eyes, wrapped herself in the quilt, and a soft smile touched her lips before she closed her eyes to rest again.

After having breakfast and greeting the other girls, Kagami took Sasuke to the Anbu base where Itachi was being held. Due to Kagami's previous brainwashing and manipulation of his negative emotions, Sasuke had become little more than a killing machine, knowing only how to obey orders.
