Chapter 140 - Ch 140

Three days later, inside the palace, Kagami looked solemnly at the memories transmitted by one of his clones. The clone, tasked with studying the chakra cultivation method, had made a startling discovery with the help of Mahoraga's analysis: a dormant, strange will was hidden deep within all chakra. His perception had been greatly enhanced by his recent soul power transformation; otherwise, this will would have remained hidden.

At first, the clone thought it was an isolated case. But when he examined the chakra from different shinobi, he found the same will in all of them, seemingly integrated with the chakra itself and impossible to separate. The discovery shocked him, and he immediately shared the news with his original body.Kagami frowned, his heart filled with confusion and anxiety. Who did this strange will belong to? Why was it hidden in chakra? What effect would it have on the ninja world? He knew this will was part of a larger, more complex secret. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. Now was not the time to panic. He ordered his clone to continue its research, to find out the origin and purpose of this will at all costs.

At the same time, Kagami began to recall what he knew about chakra, searching for clues. He first ruled out the possibility that it was simply fragments of a ninja's will accidentally absorbed during chakra refinement. The will was too perfectly hidden for that to be an accident.

"Then, this will is most likely some kind of external force, or some special existence," he mused. He remembered that all chakra came from Kaguya, and Kaguya's chakra came from the God Tree, the sacred object of the Ōtsutsuki clan. Could this will be related to the Ōtsutsuki? "Could it be the will of the Ōtsutsuki God? Or... could it have been left by the Sage of Six Paths?"

A gleam of insight flashed in Kagami's eyes. He immediately shared his clone's findings with Kaguya and asked her if she knew the origin of this will. If the will was in her chakra, it was likely from the Ōtsutsuki God; if not, it was probably the Sage of Six Paths.Kaguya looked puzzled. She carefully sensed her own chakra and found no such strange will. "I don't know the origin of this will," she said, shaking her head. "I haven't found any other will in my chakra."Kagami frowned. "Could this be the will of the Sage of Six Paths?" he wondered.

"No, it could also be that Kaguya's soul power isn't strong enough to discover it."

"Close your eyes and don't resist," he said to her. "I'll help you check." Though confused, Kaguya obeyed. Kagami gently pressed a hand on her forehead, and his soul power flowed into her body, examining her chakra. After a moment, he withdrew his hand, his expression solemn.

"This will also exists in your chakra," he said slowly. Kaguya was shocked, her face turning ugly. This feeling was deeply unsettling, as if her very body had been invaded.

"Don't worry too much," Kagami said softly. "This will seems to be dormant and has no effect on you." Kaguya felt a little relieved but was still full of doubt.

"What is the origin of this will?" she asked. "Why does it exist in our chakra?"

Kagami pondered for a moment. "I suspect this will may be related to the god of the Ōtsutsuki clan.""The Ōtsutsuki God?" Kaguya was stunned. She knew of him, but hadn't he died long ago?Kagami nodded.

"Do you know the origin of the God Tree?" he asked."The God Tree was a biological weapon left behind by our clan's god, Ōtsutsuki Yamei, before he disappeared," she answered truthfully. "It can absorb cosmic energy and create God Tree Fruits to strengthen the Ōtsutsuki clan. The tree I brought was just a seed. The real God Tree has always been on our home planet, Takamagahara."

"I see," Kagami said, his eyes flashing with enlightenment.

"Then I can be sure that the will in the chakra is undoubtedly the will of the Ōtsutsuki God."Kaguya was shocked. "But in our legends, that deity has long since fallen!" she retorted, her voice trembling.

"How could this will... possibly be His?"Kagami's lips curled into a meaningful smile.

"Fallen? Perhaps. But have you ever actually seen His remains? The disappearance of the body does not mean the annihilation of the will and soul..." His words were like heavy hammer blows to Kaguya's heart. Looking at his smile, she suddenly felt a chill run down her spine, and an unprecedented fear and powerlessness swept over her.
