Chapter 82 - 82

What about this Ragnarok?" Thor looked at his father Odin and asked.

Originally, he really didn't take the so-called Ragnarok seriously. Ragnarok was just something that the earthlings wrote when they were compiling myths. He just thought it was funny, but would humans get angry with ants?

No, so he wasn't angry.

But now he knew that not only would Ragnarok happen, but it would also be extremely tragic.

"I don't know about that, but..." Odin seemed to have a thought. He seemed to have a vague idea of what Ragnarok was, but there was no point in talking about it now. He immediately spoke. "Lin Feng's diary says you're destined to be the last one standing. That means you'll at least survive. No matter how Ragnarok unfolds, you must have sufficient strength. If you possess the strength of a god, then nothing will be a problem. You haven't trained enough after all. I've been too indulgent with you these past few years!"

Thor also wanted to refute, but he knew he couldn't. Although he had been through wind and rain and fought for Asgard for many years, it was really far compared to the dangers his father and sister had faced in the early stages of their careers.

"Fortunately, we still have time, child. You still have a few years. I will try my best to guide your strength. When the time comes, I will save as many people as possible, especially your mother. Take good care of her for me." Odin sighed and said with a loving face.

Listening to Odin's words which sounded almost like his last words, Thor's eyes could not help but turn red. He began to regret why he had not practiced well in the past, why he had become complacent so early and ended up losing everything.

"I definitely will. Not only Mother, but Loki as well. I won't let anything happen to him," Thor quickly assured. "But I'm afraid I can't do it. I don't have that much potential..."

Thinking of how powerful his father and sister are, Thor really has no confidence that he can reach that level.

"You can do it, but you don't understand yet where the core of your power is. So let me ask you, what god are you? Are you the god of thunder? Or the god of hammers?" Odin gave instructions in advance.

"Of course I am Thor." Thor said immediately, but he soon lacked confidence because he understood what his father meant. He was too dependent on Thor's hammer. This thing even originally belonged to his sister, and the previous owner might be his father.

But none of them relied on Thor's hammer, except himself. In the past, he relied too much on the power of Thor's hammer and relaxed his own practice. Now he finally knew where the problem lay.

"When you are no longer dependent on Thor's hammer and can still possess your current strength, you can be considered to have truly entered the realm of enlightenment," Odin said meaningfully.

Meanwhile, on Earth, the SHIELD crew and Tony Stark couldn't help but exchange bewildered glances. After a moment, Hawkeye Barton said, "We were saying before that we might never see Ragnarok in our lifetime, but now it looks like it might just be a few years away. In a few years, Odin will die, and then Ragnarok will happen, and Asgard will be completely annihilated..."

No one spoke, but they were all shocked, especially Nick Fury and Tony Stark. They were very wary of the Aesir before, and although the scene of Loki leading his army to invade the earth was short, it was deeply imprinted in their hearts.

But now, knowing directly that the Aesir might be destroyed in a few years, they finally let go of the heavy stone in their hearts.

"Jarvis, how is Ragnarok described in mythology?" Tony Stark said.

Jarvis quickly showed everyone all the information he could find about Asgard's Ragnarok.

"The story is complex, but generally speaking, it's about the end of the gods' reign. Many giants, including the Fire Giants and the Frost Giants, rebel against the gods. Loki escapes from captivity and takes his children with him to seek revenge on Asgard. Ultimately, the world is torn apart, and only a handful of gods and humans survive the war to rebuild a new order..." Black Widow Natasha concluded after reading. "Tony, what do you want to say..."

Tony Stark paused, then said: "In this final ending, only a very small number of gods and humans survived the war and re-established a new order. Does it look like the description in Lin Feng's diary about the destruction of Asgard and the ascension of Thor as king in a fishing village in Northern Europe? Although they are not exactly the same, there is one thing in common, that is, Asgard must be destroyed. Among the many giants mentioned in this story, we have already seen the Frost Giants. The relationship between Loki and Odin's family is not the same as in the myth, but this is not the point. The point is, if the myth is a reflection of part of the facts, combined with what is mentioned in Lin Feng's diary, I am afraid that even if the gods of Asgard win in the end, it will be a miserable victory, and they will no longer be able to rule the Nine Realms. Then there is a question, what about the Frost Giants, Fire Giants, Dark Elves, or other races in the Nine Realms mentioned in the myth, will they want to rule the Earth? By that time, we may not be facing Asgard's army."

"I don't know why Odin didn't choose to rule Earth and let it go, but there's no doubt that this is the best outcome for Earth. If the rulers of the Nine Realms had changed, they probably wouldn't have been so merciful. In other words, Asgard's Ragnarok and the replacement of the Nine Realms' rulers might not be a good thing for us."

Tony Stark finished his analysis and everyone gasped when they heard it.

Before, they almost all regarded Asgard as a potential enemy, but if a different ruler came, the rule might be much more brutal than Asgard's.

Although the specific reasons are unknown, it is known that Odin is satisfied with the current scope and mode of rule. The next ruler of the Nine Realms is unknown. If it is the same model as their American ancestors invading North America, then mankind will be doomed.

Everyone felt a chill run down their spine when they heard this. If this was true, the Earth was truly in danger.

"If this is the case, we have no choice but to fight to the death!" Hawkeye Patton said in self-abandonment.
