Chapter 3 – Awakening of the Fallen Beast
The chimera lab stank of blood, rotting flesh, and failed ambition. Mangled test subjects littered shattered capsules, leaking fluids and dreams alike. And in the center of it all stood a hulking shadow — a beast whose eyes blazed with sapphire fury.
Benjamin — or rather, the tortured body he now inhabited — panted heavily. His heart thundered like a war drum as the scent of blood flooded his enhanced senses. His claws, drenched in the gore of the Chimera Master he had just torn apart, twitched involuntarily.
His breathing was heavy, primal.
His body was trembling.
But it wasn't the wolf.
It was him.
Benjamin's human side was breaking.
"No one ever listened…" he muttered. His voice was warped now — a bestial growl tinged with unfiltered grief. "No one even asked me if it was true…"
Flashes of his past seared through his mind like burning coals —
His brother, Arthur, feigning innocence as Benjamin was dragged away.
His family turning their backs.
His mother's cold eyes.
His father's silence.
His own tears before stepping off the roof.
And now… he was a monster.
The beast within him howled — not in pain, but in agreement.
Suddenly, an unbearable surge of heat rushed through his skull. His vision split, and he collapsed to his knees, claws gouging through the steel floor as pain surged like fire through every nerve.

Another notification flickered in his mind like a hologram burned into the back of his eyes.

The wolf instinct in him growled lowly. His fur bristled.
Footsteps echoed down the rusted hallway.
From the shadows emerged four abominations — musclebound, stitched-together mutants with bat wings and acidic spit, wielding chainsaws fused to their arms. Their skin reeked of decay and alchemical corruption.
"Target: Prototype Alpha detected," one of them croaked in a mechanical tone.
Benjamin took a single step forward, letting his obsidian claws scrape along the ground.
For a moment, the air stood still.
Then, the beast within him roared, and Benjamin gave in.

The first Hunter lunged.
He sidestepped, twisted his body, and tore out its throat with one sweep of his claw. Blood sprayed across the walls like paint.
The second leapt from above, wings wide — only for Benjamin to leap higher, catching the creature mid-air and slamming it down spine-first with a sickening crunch.

Benjamin moved faster than his own thoughts — black fur a blur — and tore the creature in half with his jaws, a spray of black ichor coating the wall.

He stood in the blood-drenched corridor, heart racing, body trembling, mind swimming between man and beast.

Panting, Benjamin glanced down the corridor. It curved sharply left, then split into multiple levels. The lab was a maze of pain, suffering, and failed experiments — but his mind burned with clarity now.
And one word echoed louder than any other: Survive.
He ran.

Benjamin crashed through with raw strength, bursting into the cold night air for the first time since awakening.
He tumbled down a snowy cliffside, the lab erupting behind him in a plume of flame and dust, before landing hard against the frozen ground, gasping.
Silence.
Smoke curled in the sky like a dying dragon's breath.
He had survived.
And as the wind brushed his black fur, and moonlight bathed his crystal-blue eyes—
