In the dark green forest of Grahrir, a group of merchants travel in a wooden carriage, escorted by a party of adventurers.
Among them, a woman with pink hair and pink eyes stood out as the leader of the party. On her waist, a fine sword rested in its scabbard.
She rested in the carriage, her head against the roof. Her magenta shaded eyes were in deep concentration as she played with her light pink coloured hair.
"What are you thinking about, Elena?" The girl looked at where the voice had come from.
Across her, sat a man with long silver hair. He had a wrinkled face and body and wore a tattered robe while holding a long wand with a green gem floating on top of it.
"You seem quite deep in thought," he asked, his voice raspy and yet caring at the same time.
"It's nothing, Uncle Oscar." Elena replied, shaking off the strange feeling she had.
"Uncle Oscar's right. You seem off." Another male voice called out.
Elena looked to the side, her gaze landing on another man who had a shining bald head and a large figure. He wore heavy metal armour and carried a giant shield and axe on his back.
[Gerald: The Tank]
"Yes, you've been like this since we left the inn. Is something bothering you?" A feminine voice called out.
Elena's gaze shifted yet again. It landed on the other side of Oscar on a young girl. She had green eyes and short, golden hair. She wore a pearl white cloth, resembling a saint or maybe even an angel.
In her hand, a well-polished and maintained silver cross resided.
[Reina: The Priestess]
"Guess there's nothing I can hide from the three of you, huh?" Elena let out a sigh as she ordered the driver to stop the carriage.
"What's wrong, miss?" The travelling merchant questioned the adventurer.
She did not answer and jumped out of the carriage, her hand already on the hilt of her sword.
"What is it?" Oscar asked, reaching out to his staff.
"Monsters." She spoke, her voice stern.
The others followed, their movements precise and practised.
Elena and Oscar rushed to the front, covering Reina while Gerald removed the giant shield and axe from his back.
The area where they were aware of had already been overrun with [Greater wolves]
"Gerald!" Oscar ordered as the muscular man drew his body to his full height. His muscles tensed and his nerves began twitching as he prepared to use a skill when Elena spoke.
"Stop!" The adventureres, the merchant and driver looked at Elena in disbelief.
"Are you trying to get us killed, woman?!" The merchant roared in anger. The adventurers ignored him as this was a trait that common among most merchants.
But Gerald, being as loyal as he is, decided to abide by his leader's order. But this act caused the others to be astonished at what they saw.
The Greater Wolves, known for their aggressive battle tactics, did not lunge at once, surprising the adventurers and merchant.
Instead they looked at each other and then at the back of the pack, at an extraordinarily larger wolf.
It stood out for its fairly darker red fur and larger claws and canines. Not only that, but it also had a horn on its head, which was a common trait of the unicorn.
"Why does that wolf have a horn?" Reina asked, gripping her cross.
"Its an A-rank beast," Elena spoke, her eyes shining a green light.
The adventurers looked at each other, confused.
"But aren't Greater Wolves limited to only D to B-rank? Why is there an A-rank one here?" Gerald asked.
"I've heard of them... in an old legend," Oscar spoke, freezing both Reina and Gerald.
"On the day true evil is born,
Monsters will no longer moan.
They will gain power beyond their reach,
And recive sudden changes each."
Elena sang, attracting the others' attention.
"So you're saying some monster has arrived here in Grahrir?" Reina asked.
"No," Elena answered as the strange wolf growled at her. "A monster capable of gifting beings the fundamentals of destroying humanity is not just 'some monster'..."
The wolf lunged at Elena, its jaw opened and fangs bare.
"It would be the spawn of the devil himself."
