My eyes snapped open. I clutched my chest, expecting pain. Blood. Anything. But the hole was no longer there. The last thing I remembered was a metal pole skewering me like a shish kebab. I should be dead. I laid on what seemed to be the sky below me, Far below a vast land stretched in every direction. Forest. Oceans. Mountains. And deserts littered it.
"Hey man, you're alright now," said a voice from my left.
I looked over my yellow eyes meeting him. My eyes widened, his eyes held galaxies. At least I think they were galaxies. He laid lazily on a beach chair reading what seemed to be a newspaper. His dark purple hair swayed in the wind, it seemed to sparkle.
"Who… or what are you?" I questioned, "How am I alive? I… I… died."
"Yes, yes you did." He began closing the newspaper, "As for who I am," he stood up giving a soft warm smile. "I, am God" He paused looking around as if waiting for something "More specifically I am the god of reincarnation"
My eyes narrowed at him "So… you're a god?"
His smile dropped slightly. "Yes… but I am arguably the most important one." He reasoned.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes "I'm sure every god says that"
His eye twitched "hey! You're only here because I liked watching your story."
My eyes widened "You were stalking my entire life?!" I recoiled, half horrified, half violated.
He raised his hands defensively "No! Not like that…" He cleared his throat "Anyways, I have a proposition for you"
"Hmm?"
"So look, I grant you one wish before you are reincarnated into a new world and in return you will give me an interesting story to read." He clasped his hands "What do you think?"
I rubbed my chin "hmm… so you'll grant me one wish and in return I can just fuck around?"
He chuckled softly, "That's one way to put it," he walked up to me and extended his hand "So, do we have a deal?"
I looked at his hand and then looked at him "What exactly can I wish for?"
"Anything" He responded simply
I smirked and shook his hand "deal!"
Our hand shake burst into white flames startling me slightly. Once the hand shake was over he spoke again.
"So, what is your wish?"
"I wish for you to join me in the world I reincarnate to"
His eyes widened, before he let out an amused laugh. "Very interesting wish," He sighed "I am nothing if not a man of my word." With that he snapped, white light took over us and I could no longer feel my body.
"This should be fun" His voice echoed from where, I have no clue.
"What is going on?" I spoke but no sound left my mouth.
"This is the process of reincarnation," He paused. " And I think it would be weird if we started off as babies so… I may have skipped that part."
"Huh?" I asked, confused. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"When we complete the reincarnation process we will be eighteen, that is the only guarantee."
"Okay… the first part is understandable, so we'll be eighteen and everything else?"
"Will be random… so just hope that you aren't ugly or something."
"I'll hope you're a girl"
"Thats kinda… gay"
"How?..." I paused thinking a moment "eww"
He began laughing.
