A romantic episode by Koushambi Debnath
Sejal stepped out of her hostel, dressed in a simple white dress, her hair flowing freely in the breeze. After bidding her hostel friends goodbye—amid teasing and winks—she walked toward the waiting car with Dean.
The golden sun was still casting a warm glow across the sky. And in the distance, the sound of crashing waves echoed like a prelude to the wild fluttering in both their hearts.
As soon as Dean got out of the car, he took Sejal's hand tightly in his—firm, as though he feared losing her. Without a word, he gently tugged her along, pulling her toward the sea.
Sejal was stunned.
Dean? This Dean—who once ignored her completely—was now running like a carefree boy, hand-in-hand with her, straight toward the waves?
When they reached the shore, the two of them broke into laughter, splashing each other with water like children—pure, uninhibited joy.
Watching Dean be so playful stirred something deep within Sejal. He wasn't the cold, distant man she once knew. He was warm, alive… beautiful in a way that felt surreal.
Suddenly, without warning, Dean pulled her into his arms—close to his chest. He began placing gentle kisses across her forehead, each one trembling with unspoken emotions that his lips finally dared to release.
When Sejal finally looked up at him—those wide eyes full of wonder—Dean leaned in and kissed her lips.
It wasn't rushed.
It wasn't dramatic.
It was soft, breathless… a kiss that spoke the language of love.
Sejal couldn't hold back anymore. Her heart whispered,
"Dean… this is the moment I've waited for all these years. It's finally here…"
Tears of joy rolled silently down her cheeks.
Dean gently cupped her face and whispered,
"Why are you crying, Sejal? I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere."
Her voice trembled as she replied,
"Dean… am I dreaming? Is this really happening?"
Dean gave a crooked little smile, his eyes glowing with affection,
"No. This is real. I love you, Sejal… deeply."
Sejal's voice quivered with an ache she'd carried for years.
"Dean… you love the me I am now. But that little Sejal from long ago—the one you rejected so many times… you never loved her, did you?"
Dean paused for a moment, then kissed her forehead gently and said,
"I fell in love with that Sejal first. That's why I can love this version of you so fully today. My love never ended, Sejal… I just didn't understand it then."
Then he leaned in closer and whispered into her ear,
"My love… do you know when I truly fell for you?"
Sejal didn't answer.
Instead, she lowered her eyes and buried her face softly into his chest.
The sea still roared beside them. The sky slowly changed its hue.
And their love… quiet, yet deep… reached through the crashing waves and touched the very core of their hearts.
