"You…" I gasped, my voice trembling. "You know too much…"
For just a heartbeat, I faltered and that one moment of hesitation was all she needed.
With a burst of strength, Isabella shoved me off her body blurred, faster than the wind, in a blink, she was gone vanishing beyond my sight. I staggered to my feet, my chest burning, my fists trembling and the battlefield was still raging.
Celix stood drenched in blood, his claws glistening red, tearing through rogues with ease but even he was beginning to stagger under their numbers. Matteo fought beside him, his fingers pulling out their hearts down enemy after enemy still, more came, pouring from the shadows like an endless tide.
I clenched my fists and chest felt like it was tearing apart, my heart bled with rage, betrayal, confusion and then unable to contain it anymore I threw my head back.
A scream tore from my throat a scream filled with pain, with fury, despair, it shook the heavens themselves.
